I can't imagine those that still play the game will ever stop.

My view:

1. Knights of the Old Republic
2. Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
3. Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast
4. X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (never played stand-alones)
5. Dark Forces

Instead of moving the game forward, the devs decided to blow it up.

Time for a complete overhaul and new game engine. SWG 2!

The game needs an updated engine, a complete story, and some new planets to roam around on.

I'm willing to wait a few years.

Went out to McDonald's last weekend looking for one. I haven't had a shamrock shake in a few years and I guess not many folks have either.

Sounds like you should see your dentist if it still hurts tomorrow. Even calling the dentist will probably make the pain go away.

How long is the recovery time on LASIK? When would I be able to drive post-surgery? How many check-ups do I have afterwards (Since If I get it done in Canada at a much lower rate, how many times would I be going back up to get my eyes rechecked)?

I was thinking of having it done next summer but I can't afford to miss too much work.

What is this Duke Nukem I've been hearing about forever?

Maybe they are waiting to release it for the XBox 360?

Or possibly for the upcoming Nintendo Revolution?

I hear the new graphics engine will be 4D!

I decided to give it another go over the summer. I picked up the Total Experience (SWG+2 expansions) and gave it a good two months worth of play. Basically, it boils down to this for me:

-The space portion of the game can be fun at first, but after destroying several thousand ships a long, long, long process, it isn't fun any more.

-The combat upgrade has been a mixed bag so far as the player base is concerned. I didn't think it changed much for me other than maybe making it easier for folks to transition from SWG to WOW or Everquest 2.

-Well, the grind to Jedi is very tedious indeed, although there are a few thousand dedicated souls who have already done it (pretty much anyone who is still playing and has been over the past 3+ months). The system to become a jedi is in place to make sure that it takes a minimum of 8 weeks (if you are very lucky) to be able to start the grind to Jedi since you must become a Jedi Initiate before hand. Think of it as a two tier process. First you go through the Force Senstive trials (which are supposed to change every 2 weeks or so and you can only do one trial per that time period) and after 6 trials you become a jedi initiate. Then the grind comes back into play until eventually you kill enough critters/npc's (most likely in a grinding group of sorts since it would take even longer solo) until you reach the plateu of Jedi Master.

-In turn, play through KOTOR if you want to play as a Jedi because don't expect anyone to be impressed that you wasted 3 months of your life to be part of probably the largest player class in SWG. Face it, at least 80% of the people who play are playing to be a Jedi. Or go play Jedi Outcast/Academy online if you want to duel people properly with lightsabers.

-Well, it can be fun for a few months, and that is more than you get with most games out for the PC now-a-days.

I tried D/L'ing from Worthplaying and the Data2 file in the directory apparently won't unzip. I tried running the setup without it, but it needs it. Not sure what's up there but post if you have similar difficulties.

I enjoyed playing it especially taking down AT-AT's with my roommate on Hoth. I look forward to this release although I'm certainly not going to shell out $50 for it.

Or buy your games from Bestbuy, Circuit City, Compusa, or an online retailer at better prices.

"We're keeping the dark, scary feel from the original. People that liked Doom 3 will like this."

So, I should expect the same monsters spawning behind me in every room or hall I go in to. Should I also expect to be staring at a mostly black screen during most of the game. Of course, he does mention if you liked that then you'll like this expansion.
