No flame war here JDarksun, calamity boy was owned and its done.

I feel happy!!! I want to go for a walk...

If being pwned means knowing more about a video game people played 5 years ago, then yes, I am owned.

I am sorry I got one fact wrong, but I still stand by original statement there was downtime in UO, and that EQ was not the first to incorporate this.

I still don't think you're terribly clever, but we'll have more flame wars in the future I'm sure.

Til then.

"For those of us played before the 17 expansion packs with tons of revisions came, you could only grandmaster in one skill (i.e. melee, magic, music, blah blah) and raising other skills could bring your GM down. Why would I waste it on healing when I could put it into something more useful in combat (although magic heals were instant which was nice, still I'd take a fireball or ranged attack over that any day)"

Ahh, your a complete dumbass and now I know you didn't play UO at all. Who said anything about raising your healing skill? If you would re-read the friggin quote YOU copied from my post you see that I said that I bought GREATER HEALING POTIONS.. got it? Of course, if you really played UO you'd know that GHeal was a potion you bought from another player and not a skill. But, your such an intellignet adult though right? Yeah, thought so.

Oh yeah, this belongs to you:

Please be certain you're correct next time before posting with adults.

"When in any game have you ever had to sit down for a full half hour to recover anything?"

And to further enhance your lameness, playing a SK in EQ usually meant you sat down for ~ 20 minutes while your Health/Mana recovered after a solo fight.

Oh excuse me, I didn't realize I was talking to the creator of UO, Richard Garriot himself!

Mr. Garriot, I would be so honored if you'd bring your smelly, bloated mass over to my house one night for dinner. I'll put some lamb on the spit and we can talk about Brittania's politics and afterwords have a duel with our +2 swords of strength!

Being the master healer you are you can of course heal me with magical bandages that you always buy before you set off for adventure and intrigue in your wonderful world.

Thank you for explaining so much about your game, I know you must be terribly busy with other projects. But would you do a long time Ultima fan a favor and wipe my ass? You're going to be kissing it later and you don't look good with a mustache.

It did? Hmm, I don't EVER recall having to sit down for 20-30 minutes and watch my health bar ssssllllooowwwllllyyy go up. Did you really play UO? Cause like, I'd simply buy, ya know, GHeals at the beginning of every night and play non-stop till I wanted to log off. So what I am saying is, I think your wrong

When in any game have you ever had to sit down for a full half hour to recover anything? Sounds like you don't play video games at all. Either that or you were trying to exaggerate your experience to further prove you were right, when in fact, you are wrong.

Just because a game has heals not everyone had training or access to bandages all the time asshat. This meant you had to sit and recover your HP very slowly

For those of us played before the 17 expansion packs with tons of revisions came, you could only grandmaster in one skill (i.e. melee, magic, music, blah blah) and raising other skills could bring your GM down. Why would I waste it on healing when I could put it into something more useful in combat (although magic heals were instant which was nice, still I'd take a fireball or ranged attack over that any day)

Being able to minimize downtime != it not existing. Please be certain you're correct next time before posting with adults.

Back before the tragedy that is Everquest (concepts like "downtime" didn't exist back when there were reasons to do things other than fight, fight, fight constantly), there was the single best online RPG ever: Gemstone 3.

UO had plenty of downtime in it.

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me SWG is having a bad launch? My god, whats next a mediocre MMORPG that people will get bored of in the next month?

I can just imagine the look of horror on every zit faced, scrawny, ass hat Star Wars fan who must have tried to log on last night.

Me? I was fighting elves in Shadowbane and masturbating to free thumbnail posts.

But hey, at least I didn't buy SWG hahaha!

Have you played SWG or are you just saying shit to piss people off (which would make you a troll)?

I like to think I'm more of a teacher helping out the children who need to be held back a grade.

Game is in great shape now. Its basically done. Hardly any bugs. I can't even come close to understand why someone wouldn't like the game (other than the more obvious $15 a month). Its something new and innovating. Oh well I guess some people don't have as much as an open mind as the people playing it. Im going to play SWG now.

I hardly see how taking a crap in the already overflowing toilet that is MMORPG's is something 'new and innovating'. Does it contain peanuts perhaps?

They DO have potential, but right now they are a total joke and i feel sorry for any one who is addicted to them.

And this is coming from a man who plays text-based rpgs? You just rolled a 1 for save versus oxymoron.

I met a dwarf in Shadowbane last night. He said he thought Shadowbane was 'losing its charm'. I asked why. He said 'because I hate PVP'. So I killed him.

Timeline of SWG's Launch:

Month 1

Players run around futily trying to figure out how to become Jedi's. A 'note from the producer' lets them know Jedi's are planned 6 months in the future. Player population is pissed but talented SOE writer scripts a Leigha and Jabba fan fiction to subside the players.

Month 6

Jedis are finally put into the game. Their light sabers are only spawned once every 10 days, which leads to a rash of players camping the only spawn site for days on end. Deaths result, lawsuits imminent but players families are given a complimentary light saber pueter reproduction from the Franklin Mint.

Month 12

There are now approximately 253,043 jedis on every server. Everyone re-specs after figuring out every other classes suck because they're not jedi and don't have a light saber. Light sabers are so abundent in the game every spawn site, cantina, dungeon, and litterable area is covered with lightsabers.

Month 18

Verant replaces all objects with light saber models. Food, crafting material, furniture, and drops are all light sabers. Houses are replaced with a giant throbbing phallic shaped symbol that resembles a light saber. Players are enthralled by the new housing system and aroused at the same time.

Month 24

SWG is officially retitled Star Wars Light Saber Galaxy Featuring Light Sabers and Jedi That Can Have Light Sabers

Sales sky rocket to astronomical porportions and Verant begins working on the next sequel featuring light sabers as the actual players with 50% more motion blur applied to the light sabers to make them appear more realistic.

WAZ,

Please stop writing such conspicuous pro-Sony tripe on the internet. The object is to fool these people into thinking you're a average Star Wars loser. Try putting your system specs into your signature, or for god sakes using 'lol' or 'wtf' in your posts.

Meet at my office Wednesday for an important 'covert' training. Bring your Chewbacca outfit with the hole in the crotch.

So Jobs is now implying all 25 million Apple Macintosh users all have the OS X 10.2.5 required to run Everquest?

Lie Jobs lie.

Ammendum:

"Supporting the Mac platform is a logical step towards growing our online community and building the most complete, interactive experience for gamers," said Scott McDaniel, Vice President of Marketing, Sony Online Entertainment. "Combine the power and stability of Mac OS X with Apple's outstanding desktop systems and you've got an incredible gaming environment that'll take full advantage of EverQuest's huge and seamless 3D world."

Can someone email him and let him know Everquest is to 'seamless 3d world' what Daikatana was to 'Quake Killer'.

EDIT: Daikatana showed how bad the Quake engine can be shat out of Romero's butt, so I guess theres some truth to that statement. Statement retracted.

Why its so ironic that the French made a game about brave people who risk their lives.

Please discuss.
