While I don't like Nascar in particular, racing Nascar ala N2003 is a freakin blast. There's a difinitive rush being 3 wide at 175mph, knowing that the slightest mistake will send you flying. The ovals get old fast though.

I personally prefer gt racing. Twists and turns and hairpins are alot more exciting trying to find a good place to pass etc. Overall it's the best of both worlds, you against the course and you against the other guy.

Rally is all you against the course, Nascar is all you against the other guy, (yeah I know they have road courses, but they suck for some reason). Both of them I don't play anymore. Guess it's a taste thing.

This is gonna best the best mmporg period. Their features promised raise some serious eyebrows, but the devs primarily make government software that has to be bug free and they deliver, so that's a comfort.

The waiting is brutal though, they keep getting sidetracked with their 'rl' jobs. Be worth it I think.

Really hard to listen to. Have to keep you hand on the volume controls because some speakers are at a whisper and some knock you off your chair they're so loud.

They also needlessly keep the music going in the background through the entire show. Seems they wanna purposely annoy.
Great idea I think, just gotta think about how they implement it.

I played swg for 2 months after release.. then 6 months later played it again for about 2 months. It grabs you at first, then gets boring quick.

Anarchy Online I played for 3 months straight. Then a few months later for 4 months. Something about the atmosphere of that game that keeps me coming back.

Both games don't keep me half as long as EQ did though.

Think I'm sick maybe.

Plus you need a DX9 compatible card?

Almost all cards are dx9 compatible, just only the latest are dx9 capable, wonder if that's what they meant.

He still owns a good chunk of stock in Horizons, it'll keep him in beer money for sure.

The guy isn't much of a fighter though. Pharaoh was loaded with excuses and defeatist attitude. Methinks you gotta have alot more metal than that to survive in this field.

Hope someone picks him up, but his 'doesn't play well with others' attitude is not a good thing for the suits that make games now.

I'm on crack?

I have a very basic system, fx5900 and audigy2. All whql drivers, nothing special, and this crap game didn't work right. I had these floating artifacts all across the screen the whole time, and using "1st person" view and the open wheel cars netted NO graphics for my car or any other on the road. All I saw where their wheels on the road. In 3rd person they showed fine, but were a good 3 feet in the air in the distance.

The sound was VERY basic at best. And that was in "Ultra" mode. Engine sounde were generic and no ambient sounds save another car when it was within 10 ft of me.

The physics were a JOKE. You have ZERO feel for the car. If you doubt me, go d/l the Live For Speed demo and see what real car physics are all about.

If you fanboy's really want to prove me wrong then try something besides "He's worng". I'm a hardcore Race sim player. If you're a hardcore race arcade player, then BUY this game, it's definately a must for any arcade racing fan.

LOTS of bugs, graphical etc, artifacts everywhere. Sound, (which is touted as bet in any racing game ever), is very flat. Can't hear other cars until they're within 10ft of you - sounds like your racing in a tunnel. Engine sounds are as generic as they get. I'm running ths on your basic fx5900 and audigy 2 combo, all normal up to date drivers.

Very arcadish feeling. Pro mode is difficult, but in a bad way. You can't feel what the car is gonna do at all and you just have to race like you do in a good sim and hope for the best.

Multiplayer is chock full of the under 16 croud. I think I'll just leave this game to them.

P.S. I wanted this to be good !! Guess I gotta wait for GTR. Germans in game all said the same thing, the F1 dtm mod was better.

Big A+ for originality, that puts em over on most games, even Doom/HL.

Played Multiplayer yesterday for a good while, it's still very fun in small doses. I'm glad to see they haven't dropped the ball on this game.

Doesn't feel like I'm driving at all really. Had ff on and everything but I don't feel any bumps or turns or anything, was just fighting center spring. Maybe just me.

As far as gameplay, there's no way I'm gonna race a green shadow of a car. Just hotlapping for times is far < half the fun of racing for me. I wanna trade paint and fight for position.

Graphics are top notch though, very cool.

Plays well with my Logitech Formula Force.

Sim also rocks hard. Graphics look great and run fast, physics in pro mode feel real good so far, still testing though. Has little neat things like right rear spinning if it gets raised off the ground on a turn. Fast, good grip but not rediculous. If you mess up you pay for it. Sound is average.

Also has damage on body and drivetrain. Lost my bumper and a headlight first race, was kinda cool. Replay mode is nice, though not as functional as Nascar2003 it may be in the full game.

No 3d cockpit I could find, but I'm guessing that'll change too. LOTS of cars, great models. So far very impressed.

E&B redeifined grinding, wasn't much else to do. As soon as these devs realize that grinding = no fun then things may get better. I really want EQ2 to be fun, but it's looking like a grind fest too. Care bear crafters are ruining the genre! Crafting went from something fun to do to being absolutely necessary and therefore overran by power-players.

I heavily agree with the no-skill thing. Problem is mmporgs are centered around that. Whoever spends the most time playing wins.

Was a rumor that SWG space expansion was gonna be based on pilot twitch skills, but care bears killed that too I think.
