Finally a dev gets what EQ already knew, first person is the way to immersion. 3rd person is for gamers who want to beat the game, first is for gamers who want to be in the game.

this is on their EU site:

"Unfortunately, due to two investors unable to commit to previous funding promises, we regret to inform you that our ISP have now terminated their service.

Naturally this will result in the loss of service for the Legend of Mir 3 and R.O.S.E Online games and will also mean all websites are also affected. "

I'm pretty new to RTS, have only played AOM: Titans, but my noob review is "omfg it's complicated". Translated, that means "New Hobby!". Definately gonna own this. On the surface it shows above average attention to detail and below the surface it shows that someone with a big brain put out like a ho.

Did anyone read this? Badly written from someone who seems too lazy to acually get into the why's and whatnots. I don't expect uber details, but for the Boston Globe you'd think they would raise the bar just a tad. This chick knows less than I do and I have zero contacts on the issue.

"Windows is notoriously easy to infect with rogue programs. Such things rarely happen to Apple Macintosh computers, or machines running Linux, because their operating systems block unauthorized programs. Microsoft says its new security features will do the same."

Or maybe their realizing that the RTS market is so flooded that there are 6-12 new rts's released every week...

I had a dream once that I developed Descent 4 and released it as freeware.

Man I miss that game.

What's the patch for? I played the game through twice and the only bugs I saw were some minor texture tearing.

Just get the UK version at gogamers.com. Same game, just one patch behind.

I played Falcon 4.0, it was waaaaay over-sim. there was like a full 10pg chapter for every minor targetting system you had and cntrl-shift-alt-Home-F1-Up Arrow type quick keys that ran in the hundreds. Guess there is a market for those type of games, but I felt I should have a salary coming after a few weeks of play.

I'll play it so long as they charge $30 usd like COR was, but honestly I'd rather they went full reporter with the occasional necessary kill rather than reporter turned Freeman.

Like, wouldn't Siberia be ever so dramatic if Kate actaully had to kill someone??

That kinda thing. (Sorry for the Siber sacrelige.)

I think it should be free. I've slowed my eq2 playing alot out of boredom because i'm not a really good xp grinder. If you're sub 20 you have 1 main adveture zone to go to and that's it.

Not lying, I first heard about using powerlines for data transfer 5 fooking years ago. Even saw companies rise up with the idea and fall back into obscurity. When are they gonna quit flying this banner as a brilliant revelation and actually do it?

Yeah they do. Of all the mmporgs I've beta'd or bought, Horizons was the first one I couldn't get into from day one. Nothing about it got me excited to play. Heck, even AC2 hooked me for a month.

EQ2 had 20 dev working on it and they spent almost 30 mil developing it. If you're rolling the dice on how fun/buggy it's gonna be, those figures alone give you the best odds against any game made or in development to date.

Get mine tomorrow.

K, why should I suspend my disbelief exactly? When you're travelling with a travelling companion why do you think it's ok when that companion isn't there while travelling? Little common sense bro. And yes, it IS lazy. They could have rendered her just standing there after every screen change, but they didn't. Why? Because it's too much work to do for every change.

And yes it was a bit harsh to say 'f-ing lazy', but I got really excited about this game and the storyline I've read so far rocks hard. It was a relatively mild statement though and you are over-reacting to say the least.

P.s. Have ANY comments of your own? Have you even SEEN the demo yet? Lets hear your input instead of your insults.
