Arma is impossible now because of a bad implementation of AI awareness. If you shoot, the AI has an exact fix on your location regardless of distance or cover, when they should have an approximation based on distance and cover.

If BI stops greeding out over the queens gambit expansion or ArmA 2, then maybe they'll fix this.

OFP 2 is already out. It's called Armed Assault and it plays exactly like OFP did, (with major upgrades across the board), because it's made by the same people. How could the owners of the OFP name come out with another one and why?

The "charm" of OFP 1 was what all the cheese gamers now rally against. Downtime and travel distance. The majority want all action all the time ala quake, and if you play something like DoD you can see that reflected in the online map popularity. Small 'orange' maps that drop everyone in a grinder with no reason to move any real distance.

OFP 1 had vast maps. You had to coordinate attacks and set up real strats and sometimes you'd be in a personnel carrier traveling on a road for 10-15 minutes realtime before you got to the action. Other times as spec ops you'd have to slowly move tree to tree for what seemed like hours to get the right shot in or to plant a satchel without being seen.

It was a different world. I hold no hopes that they won't appeal to the cheese gamers and make this like Battlefield where the action is non-stop.

Amen! The snobbery is legendary on my 3d forums, ask a simple q and they tirade into "anyone with 2 neuron's to rub together knows..." attitude.

And no one can make a reliable dual boot. If they could just do that linux would soar, but as yet I could never get it to work.

Dev, most of those are already released - only 13 in that list aren't. Development could have started before Wow on most of them couldn't they?

And 50m a month is simply rediculous, hell some mmporgs are free. If that's true then Wow would go broke by just offering a free month, lol.

Why does everyone think the industry suddenly went ape over mmo's because of Wow? They went ape over them when EQ came out and Wow was just another me to game that hit the right vein. I guess Wow did show that done right they can turn over some cash, but It seems to me there's only been a small spike of mmo announcements after Wow and still less than before. Short memory spans, jeez.

"What DVD burner program is that?"

It's CDBurner pro. Freeware and it rocks:

It does keep Windows Explorer from being able to access my dvd player and only one dvd burner program I've found is able to burn anything on it, the others repeatedly say it's an un-burnable dvd. I took starforce out and all problems went away, put it back in and problems resumed. That's enough proof for me and this company lost another sale.

My first impression: You gotta be kidding me.

Whoever tries this, get ready to watch a good 5 mins of un-escapable intro's to play a very non-simmed 3rd person view console game. The cars you see in the videos are at least 5x better looking than they are ingame too.

Santorium is such an embarassment to us in PA, he's expect to lose in a landslide next November.

That and they're the best processor manufactures this side of the "I use AMD to be l33t" fanbois club.

They all should be ^^

I remember you used to be able to search Ausgamers site and get the latest before they posted them. They caught me though.

I just now saw the DOOM movie and I gotta say it wasn't half bad at all. I mean, they took the portal to hell out and put in an extra chromosone, but it was pretty smartly done, the action was awesome and they did one series of scenes from first person view that was clearly aimed at gamers and it made my heart warm.

So it can be done. It's still a neat idea I think.

"Raising the lvl cap from 20 closer to the stated limit of 80."

I remember Brad McQuaid saying once that D&D is inheirently structured for 25 levels. No matter what you change the dynamics get blown out if you go higher. He started EQ at 50 just for marketing reasons.

Very small issue here. If I'm looking at Bluesnews halfway down the page, click a link, then hit my Go Back one page button, it always puts me about half a page lower than where I was originally.

It's exclusive though, Bluesnews is the only site on the entire internet that does this. So that's unique, which is cool. To be unique I mean. Unique is usually good.

Firefox browser I have.
