Hrm.... photoshopped?

Now that I look at the second shot more closely, there is an odd square shaped area behind the right marine that is shaded red. The marks on the floor in this red square don't match up with the marks in the rest of the image. WTF?

For $10 I get HL1:S, DoD:S, and CS:CZ. Can't complain about that.

When I had Windows 98, it crashed at minimum twice a day. In December of 2001, I upgraded to what was at the time a damn near top of the line system - 1.5GHz P4, 256MB RAM, Geforce2 Ultra, and WinME. WinME didn't crash as much as 98 - it was only once a day with ME. But the thing to consider is that 98 was technically outdated at this point - and my system with ME doesn't even meet the bare minimum requirements for Doom 3 today. 98 is effectively obsolete; anyone with a system up to running Doom 3 should be running XP. I've been using XP since I built my new comp this January, and it's hardly ever crashed.

Back in January, I built the following system:
Motherboard: ASUS P4P800
CPU: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
RAM: 1GB PC3200 Kingston (both sticks failed once), and 512MB PC3200 Crucial
Video: ASUS Radeon 9800XT
Sound: Audigy 2 ZS
Harddrive: 120GB Western Digital w/8MB cache
Case: Lian-Li PC60
Optical drives: ASUS 16x DVD-ROM and Memorex 52/32/52 CD-R

It added up to around $1800. Since then, I've gotten a Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra system, and a Zalman heatsink that I still need to put on.

Listen to the Doom 3 theme at 0:44 and Tool's Lateralus at 2:32. It's almost EXACTLY the same.

The project is still in development here at Valve and we will be announcing more info after HL2 ships.

So, we may be playing it in 2006 if we're lucky.

After I read this I checked my calendar to make sure it isn't April 1.

Seriously, no new guns, no new models - just some single player maps and a "challenge mode"? Even if they price this at $20 (which they won't) it would still be a ripoff.

I payed $50 for an early version of the same damn game a year ago. I'd buy this if it were an expansion, but it isn't worthy of being released as a new game.

It ran well on my comp at 1024x768, which is nice, considering I'm using a P4 1.5GHz, 256MB RAM, and a Geforce2 Ultra. The only problem I noticed was that the music was all screwed up with skipping, static and the like. Restarting the game seemed to remedy the problem though.

I was in Amsterdam just a couple weeks ago (June 27 and July 16 to be exact - it was a trip to Germany, but I flew in and out of Amsterdam), and at night I just pissed on the side of the street, and no one said a word. Considering that my options were either the street or my pants, I felt it was the most reasonable choice.

"And lars? WTF is with the trash can lids for snare drums dude?"

I thought the exact same thing when I listened to the album - "what are those, fucking garbage cans?" It really ruined the entire album for me.

One of my favorite recent songs is "Implements of Destruction", by Chimaira. The style of the song is obviously influenced by Metallica, yet it sounds far superior to anything on St. Anger. It sounds like what St. Anger should have been. Metallica's older stuff was great, but the seem to have lost their edge. As far as I'm concerned, St. Anger can't compete with some of the newer metal bands such as Chimaira, Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, and Killswitch Engage.
