Anything with StarForce gets a pass from me.

But then again, I don't buy retail until a companion NOCD patch has been released. Limits the amount of games available, but at least I am not forced to act like a poodle and fetch my CD every time I want to play for a few minutes.

We will see if the console development and planning of Oblivion has FUBARed the game as it did in Invisible War. Mention Invisible War in that context and you have me scared.

Get off your high horse Spector. Your games are filled with apocolyptic themes, far worse than regional thuggery.

Dual G5's can blow the pants off PCs in After Effects, but they exist in a gaming vacuum.

And each one has gameplay. Something lacking in many games today.

Look at Myst, if you can consider that a game. Up to version 5 now and unfortunately the company is still solvent.

Compliments to Raven for keeping Linux in the loop.

This is so much nicer than Doom3 and a testament to a great developer.

Since when is DOOM3 considered a game? It is an overhyped monster-closet demo and nothing more. Well, actually it is something more.

It is a hard lesson for those that think id can produce any sort of captivating single-player game and not look like idiots compared to capable developers.

Sounds like ActiveMark is competing with Steam to see who is the bigger pile of urine. I still vote for Steam, but this is a close one...

Some idiot said "Basically the only people who don't care for Starforce are people who are pirating the software anyway. There are a few people who use it for other purposes but lets be realistic here."

=======

I don't care for any protection on the games that I purchase, thank you. I do not appreciate the developers turning me into their pet poodle that must be forced to fetch my own CD/DVD and put it into the drive each time I play. I never buy a game that doesn't have a NOCD patch released for it.

I didn't mean to single out Starforce, this applies to all inhibitive protection schemes dreamed up by developers.

Forcing STARFORCE drivers to be installed and regurgitated IP being remade into yet another movie are TWO STRIKES against this adver-demo.

The third is the curse of movie-tie-in games.

Why? They promised that was the last Myst game! I'll take those bastards to court if they announce any more Myst crap.

I am so excited about the end of this series! Now I don't have to be subjected to another word about this pile of dung dubiously referred to as a 'game'.

Good riddance and not soon enough!

HAHA - BUT look at the crap that id produced in the form of Doom3 - a fully formed turd with a so-so engine. It will be interesting to see if Quake Wars can compete with FarCry's view distance and detail outdoors.

id should stick to making engines, thier games are getting worse with each release and they still have not advanced beyond 2 lines of AI code

Thank you for clarifying this for me.

FarCry has now been crossed off of my purchase list.

Chickenshit bombing has always been the hallmark of American foreign policy. Now, at least, innocent civilians will not suffer the consequences of American hegemony.

With an industry that made record profits over the movie industry, piracy is not to blame.

From the statement it seems they are moving more resources to consoles. Too bad, it is what utterly ruined Theif and DeusEx. Will even the consoles of tomorrow have the ram and resources of PC's, or will they continue to drag down PC development and gameplay?

Too many titles are being released for the Mac, Aspyr decided to withdraw this game from the already overcrowded and glutted Mac game market.

After all, how much money do you think that Mac fanboy has? He already owns several copies of Myst, the pinnacle of Mac gaming.
