It'd be nice if you reported starforce stuff with a little less hyperbole; how about just a list of which area releases definitely contain it which would be a nice trick given that as far as I can tell they haven't announced a publisher... Damnit it was a joke wasn't it?

Maybe microsoft can help to ensure a lionhead game ships with all the proposed features and on time; just like Vista!

Now that I'm done being snide, I wonder if PM will actually hang on, lionhead could probably make something awsome if they got investment, project management and some semi-realistic goals.

I could really go for a decent shooter right about now, assuming FEAR hasn't ruined those for me perminantly. morrowind civ4 and galciv2 are taking care of my strategy quotia.

Sid Meier? As far as I can remember the XCOM/UFO games were published by microprose and designed by mythos games, aka the gollop brothers, maybe you were thinking of Alpha Centauri?

Either one I'd be delighted to see a sequel so you have my full support, maybe they could produce some sort of crazy hybrid.

I've always suspected it has to do with PCI bandwidth / latency problems, the guy mentions tweaking his latencies to fix the problem and I used to get it in HL2 and other games when I used my overly demanding m-audio soundcard along side my 6800 GT.

HL2 shipped right on the cusp of the change from AGP to PCI express, out of interest is there anyone on this forum who has had this problem with a PCIe chipset?

How about a Starcraft FP RTS ala battlezone, if that was done right I have a feeling it'd rock.

I really hope it took a few wheel barrows of cash to get them to do this, I'm glad I'm not a depeche mode fan I guess but this whole thing just seems so very lame.
If they keep recording a track for each new sims expansion pack, by the end of the year they'll have enough material to release an album.

Pretty damn good, no demo yet sadly but if you like 4x's then I don't think you'll be disapointed. I'd describe it as having breadth rather than the level of micro-management of something like space empires 4, quite alot of different things to balance.

Plus as Creston mentioned stardock do digital distribution right, no DRM, no authorisation - it's just used to check for updates and plug in to their global ranking system aka the metaverse.

I guess its an ironic statement, the white dove symbolising peace always flies away in slow motion before an especially brutal action scene.

It doesn't fuck up your system exactly, at least not in a guarenteed way. Think of it as an added layer of complexity in an already complicated system, it wiggles its way in - yet another thing that can (and does) cause crashes and random lock ups, another thing that has its own host of incompatibilities. That's just the technical issues, although starforce claims it works perfectly, it's yet another weapon in the war against piracy that screws only the legitimate customer.

Argh! Time made me forget how addictive this is, I thought I'd just play a couple of levels before making a pot of coffee and now I've finished fun.

Oh well, worker productivity is over rated anyhow...

Maybe this is a refinement of the "never deliver a demo" strategy, you deliver a demo so big that most people won't bother downloading it to check out and even magazines can't fit more than two or three to a DVD.

Demos this size make my 750k cable connection seem very small, if it's really got a few 100 mb of intro movies I'll be less than impressed.
