For some reason, as soon as I read of that, I thought of Patsy...

That'd be a sweet deal, not only would you get your 2 ghz phone cooled but you'd have a guy to clap coconuts together for you.

If you could afford a 2 ghz phone you could probably afford a minion to stap the cooling gear on to.

Does anyone ever get the feeling that lionhead have more fun making their games than we do playing them?

Fable wasn't as bad as I was expecting, like several other people on this board I picked it and the lost chapters up for a few quid second hand and enjoyed it, however I don't think I spent hours giggling over penis shaped bushes either.

Perhaps Fable 2 would be a prime candidate for a 'developers commentary mode'.

If it will be any where near as good as Silent Storm, after the disapointment that was hammer and sickle I could really go for some tactical turn based squad level mayhem - vampires warewolves and fireballs are really just a bonus.

I'm pretty sure I can see:

Watch the E3 Trailer to see Spidey and Venom in action.
Ultimate Spider-Man™ Trailer ( 4894k )

Perhaps you missed it when you clicked on the spiderman 3 movie trailer or maybe it wasn't there?

Wasn't pair programming the central tennant of extreme programming?
I dunno if the name was just too silly to use but as I recall the 'independant' tests worked out pretty well. I'd be very interested to hear if anyone has used it in a serious project.

Can you imagine his advice though? He'd just mail you a copy of every single matrix game and an xbox with "don't do this" written on the envelope in red pen.

4 weeks later you get the bill.

Sony is trying to simultaneously corner the console and the next generation DVD market and if it goes anything like the way they attempted to dominate the handheld media market (with UMD) then they're in trouble.

Or how about the handheld market with minidisk, DAT was killed by the RIAA and they lost out to JVC in VHS vs BETAmax, any way you look at it Sony doesn't have a great track record with formats.

Yeah it was, I'm hoping for a bit more free roaming privateer style gaming and a bit less fixed plot / linearity this time round and it sounds like that's what they are planning to deliver.

Incidentally am I weird in thinking that the micro-RTS genre / control scheme would be better suited to massive management / space opera-em-ups like X2 than the first person perspective they usually adopt?

In a way I think the short playing time actually works in its favour, if it had been 8 hours long would you be playing it through for a second time now? I *don't* mean that it's a good thing its a 4 hour game, I just think that if I had to sit down to 8 hours of this in a row I'd have got bored somewhere about hour 6, it doesn't do enough new to distinguish it from any other shooter.

C- Ritual, must try harder.

The thing that's really putting me off is my recent experiences with sony hardware; I had to try and configure and set up an NW-A3000 mp3 player for a friend and it was the single worst software experience I have ever encountered. I shit you not, the software (Sony Connect) is so bad sony actually have a free phone technical support number in the U.K. that just tells you to download the older version called sonic stage, which still doesn't work.

Plus lets look at Sony's record with formats, there's mini-disk, the digital format you had to record to at fucking 1:1 speeds for the first few years rather than digital transfer of tracks, an innovation that basically delivered the personal music player to apple after a fucking decade of them being the market leader.

None of this bodes particularly well for the PS3 and Sony in general.

To see his position on steam, he is positing a full-length title at $30 rather than $50; it'll be interesting to see what they deliver.

On that note, hopefully as steam develops it’ll get fairer, riley bangs on about it repeatedly and he has a point (just the one mind!) - any way you spin it digital delivery generally reduces your freedoms.
What’s needed is an easy method of transferring ownership from one account to another to create a healthy second hand market, that'd naturally bring with it discounts on older titles and so on and would go a long way to making steam a fairer proposition for all.

After two really good super hero games in this genre I'm puzzled why they don't phone irrational, maybe they don't want to touch a humor free overblown 'epic' property like the Marvel universe.

Well, actually the evidence is that they did fuck around with this sort of thing - this guy wasn't exactly a mitnick, he caused a vast amount of disruption precisely because he didn't know what he was doing. He gained access to systems with laughable ease using such complicated exploits as scanning military ip blocks then trying the default password... Don't get me wrong, the guy is a criminal and an idiot but someone should be asking how he gained access to so many systems and caused so much damage so easily.

Wow, you're wrong in two posts right above each other... regardless of what you think of the operating system, there are definately going to be people that would miss the platform.

Personally I've always liked the OS and the hardware but been put off by the cost, and suspect we would be worse off without apple.

I think it's because the US doesn't have a unified sales tax so US prices are usually quoted without, as the EU as a whole has VAT the MSRP here will include it.
Taking the UK as an example we find that ex tax:
£19.99/1.175 = £17.01 or $30.37 USD

I make it only 50% (!) more expensive than the US equivalent, although I've probably screwed up somewhere.

I can't find anything conclusive about monthly fees; however the Garriott brothers seem to think that there will be some sort of fee with the first month free.

You have a very very strange post history fredrickson as you seem to alternate between hating starforce and loving it,
I guess that just makes you a troll.

THERE IS NO PROOF STARFORCE DOES ANY HARM. ITS JUST RUMORS SPREAD BECAUSE STARFORCE IS SUCH POWERFUL PROTECTION - fredrickson

starforce warning: do not download software containing starforce - fredrickson

so what if this uses starforce? why do you make such a big friggen deal. there is NO PROOF THAT IT DOES ANY HARM. the developers invited anyone to prove it an NOBODY could prove it. - fredrickson

you are just a pethetic newb fanboy to support such a shady company as starforce - fredrickson
