"Yes there will be multiple level buildings, which you can enter or climb onto. However, there won’t be any battles fought inside the buildings."

And so the series took yet another nosedive, please for the love of god guys just cough up for the Silent Storm engine.

n.b. In the UK aftershock is a horrible sweet flavoured spirit.

only slight worry is that once again all we have is tight interior shots, the last thing we need is another generic corridor shooter.

This is going to infuriate some people but I really like having steam, I had a hard disk die on me and instead of mountaineering through my piles of old cds, finding that the disk itself was dead and having to download an iso for my valid cd key like last time I just logged in and let it download over night.

Hump, dungeon lords looks like it might worth keeping an eye on, sounds like they use a similar sort of combat system, they built it with co-op in mind and it has a free roaming fantasy world ala gothic 1/2 - Sadly the demo due 1st sept is still MIA

Isn't it tempting fate slightly to talk about the coffee table book - "The Making Of Half-Life 2" before the goddamn game is even finished ... ARGH

Hah, severence was one of my favorite games - best melee combat model ever.

Not entirely sure myself... mind you Alice was a bit of a let down - very creative visually but it was a pity about the gameplay. Hopefully Scrapland will have more sophisticated mechanics, I'll give it a whirl when I finish work I guess.

"He drives 10 minutes every two weeks to shop at a Wal-Mart store in another town to find low prices."

10 minutes, are they fucking joking ? Quick, everyone who doesn't have a walmart within 10 minutes drive needs a closer one...

I fully expect to be able to power my car on a new clean and efficent fuel source - 3DR marketing hype, bullshit and misinformation. You'll just tie up a clone of george b in your trunk and enjoy cheap motoring bliss.
It'll smell horrible though.

On one hand I'm really happy its shipping with co-op, on the other the demo is still mia and the release date looks to be pushed back so who knows.

AQ2 was one of my all time favorite mods ever, only a weird openGL error ever stopped me playing it, nothing has ever competed with the insane speed of that game, the 3 second rounds on maps like jungle1 and the crazy jumps of the city maps. Holding out hope for this mod, off into town to buy ut2004.

Actually what I would have liked to see is travel working properly, boats boating, striders striding etc.. and the ability to take npc's on them.

Its just bull, big buisiness' often use some flavour of *nix for their services and security, the reason they are not compromised more often is because its harder to do. Why work at it when you can take the easy route?

What i can dredge from memory is not encouraging though, wasn't this the game with NPC's running around in it, jedi and ewoks and so forth.

do we know if this is game dev related or publisher related, after all this autumn looks to be a rough time to be a small indie game on the open market.

OT and incidentally play.com are offering pre-orders of evil genius for £18 including vat and delivery. This seems mighty low for a new game, are us retailers selling it at budget prices ? As they are claiming it will ship early October it could well be out before HL2

You know creston its almost like they are testing the steam network before the game goes gold, that would be one reason for putting out a few huge preloads, and so far it seems to have held up (sort of).

interesting contrast here between EA's response to the system shock on the d3 engine mod vs seirra and this starsiege mod.

A little digging provides the information that KaWoW are the people responsible for GORE, and so my optimism is destroyed.

edit: they might have just made the engine, details are sketchy.
