I'm still trying to find a server with decent ping. I get sub 60 in all other games. Maybe 3 megabit cable not good enough for XMP?

Sorry but this is just too annoying. I had all the settings maxed, did I miss one? Why would they do this? I won't go back to 1996 where you empty all your ammo at a wall and leave no mark. Also I couldn't find a server without horrible lag.

Sin deserves alot of credit for reasons listed above. I too spent alot of time shooting and looking at bullet holes in the wall. It also was the first game I saw with locational damage on the player models. MOST games STILL don't have that! Even the vaunted Max Payne 2 doesn't.
I remember reading a quote from one of the Max Payne 1 devs when asked why his game didn't have this. He said something like they had "worked on" what he called "pain skins" but couldn't make it work. Just cant be done blah blah.

All game interviews are worthless. The only thing that matters is the game in my hands. That's when all the bs gets stripped away, and I know how a game really is.

#$%$&*# MS. The thing that gets to me is, any normal business venture would have to be successful on it's own in order to continue. But with M$ propping up Xbox with their bottomless pit of capital, they can continue to gut PC game after PC game for decades regardless if they ever make money at it.
I agree that games which shape up to be sub par in quality should be killed.
Then again, if that had been done industry wide since, say 1996, there'd be about 7 PC games total right now.

But if the current state of the game is a result of selling out to MS, you can't really blame them. They (the devs and publishers) are in this to make money first and foremost.
