This will sound negative, but it is an honest question. Does he do anything other than trying to still make money and recognition off his days and nostalgia at id software? It could be bias in all that seems to be promoted, but without looking into it, it seems that way.

Back in 2019 Romero created a brand new full episode for Doom 1 named Sigil, and released it for free. I believe he released it for Doom's 25th anniversary, and is considered the unofficial 5th Doom1 episode. He designed the episode so it would be difficult even for himself to play through. I've played thru most of Sigil on UV with FAST monsters, and it's been pretty intense. The levels also look pretty amazing, even though he stuck to the Doom 1 engine.

https://romero.com/sigil

Supposedly Romero is also working on a Sigil for Doom 2, but no idea when it will be released.

I see all this criticism here and laugh, since Romero has shown he's still capable of being focused. and was able to crank out a completed product (Sigil in this case).

Congratulations to everyone long ATVI. Hopefully will see the deal close next week, if no more hiccups from the UK/CMA regulators.

9th Circuit court denied the FTC's injunction request this Friday evening. TRO expires tonight on the MSFT/ATVI merger.

The FTC members are absolutely bull-headed. Why do they want to relive getting destroyed a second time? Looking forward to seeing this investment pay off very soon.

FTC just lost their case against Microsoft this morning on the ATVI merger. Now the UK's CMA is folding and trying to negotiate a settlement with Microsoft on cloud-gaming remedies.

"Reasonably probable"?! LOL the FTC is so desperate to stop this merger. Looking forward to seeing the FTC get destroyed by the judge.

Big blow to Zuckerberg. Another reason why Zuck needs to step down, as he is ultimately responsible for the culture that created the problems for Carmack. And Zuck's also tanked the stock with his obsession over a functional Metaverse.

Meta is bloated and needs someone aggressive like Musk to clean house and turn thing around.

Did forecasts of an extra-busy hurricane season turn out dead wrong? - the Washington Post

Gee, what happened? I thought climate change was supposed to make tropical storms and hurricanes worse. I guess not, then. What else is incorrect about what the media has been pitching about climate change?

Are the journos at PC Gamer going to contribute funds to Girls Who Code or job opportunities to replace what Raytheon offers? No? Then PC Gamer and other rags can mind their own business.

"As a society, we need to discuss if our communities should have fewer people exposed to extremist groups, even if those who do engage become ever more isolated and radicalised" No, it's not really up for discussion. You don't allow extremists, terrorists, Nazis and the like free roam through your society. We've allowed Fox, Newsmax, OAN, Rush and the like free reign to radicalize 30-40% of our population against the government, educators, progressives, doctors, scientists, and they have pushed the idea that violent insurrection is a viable alternative to democracy. Now we have Hitler wannabees stealing our nation's top-secret information to use against the country or to sell, and a large portion of the population is so brainwashed they think *law enforcement* is in the wrong for going after this disgraced criminal.
What? Big government and progressives are not to be criticized? People who don't agree with you are extremists and Nazis?

Didn't the governor of New York publicly admonish MAGA people and told them to leave the state? Doesn't that seem insane to you, since that would cost the state a ton of tax revenue that may not be simple to recover?

Is that what you all really want, the country to split completely into red and blue sections? LOL that the USA would survive if that would even be possible.

You people on the Left really need to push back your divisive and authoritarian rhetoric, if you expect the USA to survive the next few decades.

Ah, no: Twitter's board believes Musk is still legally obliged to honor the deal and buy the company at the agreed-upon price. That's worth a lot more than $1 billion, so they will go after Musk in court.

re: Statins in the drinking water

An amazingly ignorant suggestion, and shows the author lacks any pharmaceutical background whatsoever. Statins interact with many commonly prescribed medications in a dangerous fashion, and even niacin supplements. These interaction would outweigh any benefits from having a clinically-effective dose present in the water supply. Who knows how much it would cost to fund such a harmful program.

Basically ignore any drug-related article on the internet unless it is backed by some type of rigour, ether from peer-reviewed studies or other collaborative authoritative source without bias.

Good. Bethesda never fixed the issue with the launcher forgetting your password every few weeks. Or at least the developers were too lazy to fix the issue. Also got tired of seeing those annoyingly stupid Wolfenstein characters prominently displayed every time the launcher loaded up. Also found no way to replace the marketing splash screen, which is another great reason the launcher will be gone.

Lack of presenting identification to vote is a bigger problem when it comes to voter fraud. Practically every other democratic nation on the planet requires ID to vote. Yet you all are fine promoting vaccination IDs instead. Hypocrites.
