Big blow to Zuckerberg. Another reason why Zuck needs to step down, as he is ultimately responsible for the culture that created the problems for Carmack. And Zuck's also tanked the stock with his obsession over a functional Metaverse.

Meta is bloated and needs someone aggressive like Musk to clean house and turn thing around.

Did forecasts of an extra-busy hurricane season turn out dead wrong? - the Washington Post

Gee, what happened? I thought climate change was supposed to make tropical storms and hurricanes worse. I guess not, then. What else is incorrect about what the media has been pitching about climate change?

Are the journos at PC Gamer going to contribute funds to Girls Who Code or job opportunities to replace what Raytheon offers? No? Then PC Gamer and other rags can mind their own business.

"As a society, we need to discuss if our communities should have fewer people exposed to extremist groups, even if those who do engage become ever more isolated and radicalised" No, it's not really up for discussion. You don't allow extremists, terrorists, Nazis and the like free roam through your society. We've allowed Fox, Newsmax, OAN, Rush and the like free reign to radicalize 30-40% of our population against the government, educators, progressives, doctors, scientists, and they have pushed the idea that violent insurrection is a viable alternative to democracy. Now we have Hitler wannabees stealing our nation's top-secret information to use against the country or to sell, and a large portion of the population is so brainwashed they think *law enforcement* is in the wrong for going after this disgraced criminal.
What? Big government and progressives are not to be criticized? People who don't agree with you are extremists and Nazis?

Didn't the governor of New York publicly admonish MAGA people and told them to leave the state? Doesn't that seem insane to you, since that would cost the state a ton of tax revenue that may not be simple to recover?

Is that what you all really want, the country to split completely into red and blue sections? LOL that the USA would survive if that would even be possible.

You people on the Left really need to push back your divisive and authoritarian rhetoric, if you expect the USA to survive the next few decades.

They are owed 1 billion from Mr. Free Speech Absolutionist, hope they get it.
Ah, no: Twitter's board believes Musk is still legally obliged to honor the deal and buy the company at the agreed-upon price. That's worth a lot more than $1 billion, so they will go after Musk in court.

Such a stupid thing to write a news story about. Proves instead a lot of thin-skinned people on Twitter got nothing better to do.

re: Statins in the drinking water

An amazingly ignorant suggestion, and shows the author lacks any pharmaceutical background whatsoever. Statins interact with many commonly prescribed medications in a dangerous fashion, and even niacin supplements. These interaction would outweigh any benefits from having a clinically-effective dose present in the water supply. Who knows how much it would cost to fund such a harmful program.

Basically ignore any drug-related article on the internet unless it is backed by some type of rigour, ether from peer-reviewed studies or other collaborative authoritative source without bias.

Good. Bethesda never fixed the issue with the launcher forgetting your password every few weeks. Or at least the developers were too lazy to fix the issue. Also got tired of seeing those annoyingly stupid Wolfenstein characters prominently displayed every time the launcher loaded up. Also found no way to replace the marketing splash screen, which is another great reason the launcher will be gone.

The gaming activists/wokies would love to take down a CEO like this, and it doesn't matter if he is guilty or innocent.

Lack of presenting identification to vote is a bigger problem when it comes to voter fraud. Practically every other democratic nation on the planet requires ID to vote. Yet you all are fine promoting vaccination IDs instead. Hypocrites.

With the recent scandal involving Activison I'm surprised people here are promoting such a mysogynistic game series as Leisure Suit Larry without virtue signaling how problematic the game was. Your rules. Tsk, tsk.

Great: means the service quality will go down and outages go up, as ISPs will have to cut costs elsewhere.

It's interesting how the discussions here about this game were all basically unanimous that it was a bad idea. Taking recent, real world events, putting real people that were there as NPCs, but ignoring all the civilian casualties those people caused feels, to use a dictionary word, icky.

But then a Muslim group says something and now there's vehement dissent here.

Maybe a few of you should wonder why you didn't care, or much care, or see any need to defend this game, until a Muslim said something?

I'll agree with you on one thing, and we can all agree here: It's stupid to care about what any cultural/political organization, like CAIR, thinks about any video game. It's better to ignore them and enjoy the games you want to enjoy. The challenge is to get the gaming companies to ignore these political groups, which so far I don't see an easy solution to.

Perhaps looks to games made in other countries where the developers are not affected by vocal ideologies.
