The beta is predominately to learn about large scale issues, i.e. when we have 10 000’s of people playing at the same time, eliminating some of the problems we have encountered after launch previously in the franchise.
Battlefield 1942 came out with quite a few bugs. Okay, I can understand that... it's a new game with a new engine and there are bound to be problems.
Battlefield Vietnam came out, also with launch issues. You would figure they would have learned some lessons from the previous lauch but okay, fine, whatever.
Battlefield 2 comes out... and there are STILL launch issues. Still some serious bugs months after release. Some patches must be rolled back because they break more shit than they fix. I would think that by the third time around, DICE would know their engine - right? Is the game really all that fun that gamers would want to keep bankrolling this kind of incompetence?
If Battlefield 2142 comes out a buggy mess, who is to blame? EA? DICE? Or the gamers who put up with this shit? Maybe I'm just getting cranky in my old age. Now get off my damn lawn!
