I think everyone knew that Steve would die "in the line of duty", but I don't think anyone could have guessed that he would die due to a stingray. Thanks for the show, Mr. Irwin, you crazy bastard!

And then they can hire Derek Smart for all of his wonderful customer service skills.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.

Keep your foot hard on the pedal. Son, never mind them brakes.
Let it all hang out 'cause we got a run to make.
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there's beer in Texarcana.
And we'll bring it back no matter what it takes.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.

Ol' Smokey's got them ears on and he's hot on your trail.
He aint gonna rest 'til you're in jail.
So you got to dodge 'im and you got to duck 'im,
you got to keep that diesel truckin'.
Just put that hammer down and give it hell.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.

space cowboy will be very disappointed when DNF is released and it doesn't have ugly anime girls with tentacles coming out of them, since he's apparently into that shit.

So I guess my Super Happy Fun Midget Turbo Toyota Bukkake Hentai porn mod I'm planning for DNF is not such a good idea, huh?

Since Tribes is dead, I'll play BF2 until someone creates a better game with similiar game-play. Quake Wars should be THE one... especially since Splash Damage added skiing, see link below.

Holy shit! QW:ET has now become a Must Buy. A couple of the Splash Damage devs are encouraging people to create a Tribes mod? That kicks ass!

My second biggest complaint is how they can break shit that was working just fine, like the oil towers firing off rockets. How the fuck did this happen?

That's not a bug, that's a feature. They're just showing you the unpredictable nature of war. Danger can come from anyplace, at any time. It's important that you realize that, soldier, and stay on your toes!

Thank you for purchasing our 2006 Corvette.

We regret to inform you that due to market conditions, we introduced the car far earlier than we had intended. Only 3 of the 8 cylinders are functional at this time. While we fix this problem, please accept this gift card for a month's worth of free gasoline.

(Also, the headlights turn on when the brake pedal is pressed, and changing a station on the radio causes the convertible top to retract. We're working on that, too.)

Seriously, I hope this game tanks, maybe the people behind it will learn a lesson. (Somehow I doubt that though.)

Camara, can we change that script to actually change the word BOOBIES into PICTURES of boobies?

It's possible, but wouldn't that make this site Not Safe For Work...? Only if you have FF, Greasemonkey and the script I suppose, but I'd rather not have Blue ban my ass.

I certainly don't think it's right for the gov't to know what we're doing, yet at the same time we are not allowed to know what the gov't is doing. All this spying equipment comes from our tax dollars. We have a right to know how that money is being spent, because the gov't is supposed to work for us. It's a matter of trust. If our own government can't trust us, and we can no longer trust the gov't, then we have failed as a society.

How does one stop the terrorists? By not creating them in the first place.

I am of the opinion that the USA is now facing terrorist acts because the USA created the terrorists by sticking its nose where it doesn't belong. We are truly a disposasble society. We create dictators like Saddam Hussein, use them up, and then throw them away when they are no longer useful to us. It was only a matter of time until certain groups got sick of the USA throwing its weight around, meddling in their own countries, and decided to do something about it. We gotta think about WHY people are hating the USA so much that they are now bringing the fight to our shores.

We were able to win the Cold War without whizzing our freedoms down our legs. Now all of a sudden, in order to defeat an enemy that supposedly hates us because of our way of life, we have to give up that way of life? Did we turn into a nation full of chicken shits?

I'm not advocating that we become ostriches and all stick our heads in the sand, we certainly need to know what's going on in our country and elsewhere. I'm saying that there are better things to spend billions of dollars on than some bullshit war against a country that is about as threatening as the Salvation Army. We don't need to spend billions of dollars on cameras and listening devices. How about some health care? How about money for an education? How about getting our country off oil?

Ugh, I know I'm not forming a coherent argument here, I got totally off topic and I'm rambling - I do agree with many of your points, I just think we as a country need to focus more on getting our own shit in order before meddling elsewhere and causing people to hate us when they never used to before. Or hate us even more than before.

[edit] note to self, don't post when half awake...

what does the boobies filter do?

Changes all mention of S t a r F o r c e into BOOBIES... It was created as sort of a gag during the time of the various SF 'debates' around here. Though I suppose it could be turned into a swear filter easily enough. But contrary to um, certain people's opinions, I'm not THAT into censorship.

[edit] oops, Bhruic has it right...

Does the apparent thwarting of the UK plot justify government surveillance?

Let's put it this way: would it be okay for us (gov't) to put a camera in every room in your house (and I do mean every)? Could we examine your banking, shopping and phone records? Could we keep track of all the websites you visit? Could we put a microchip in your car, or maybe even insert one into your skin so we know where you are at all times?

If you're not doing anything 'wrong' then you should have nothing to worry about. Though we will determine what is 'wrong' at any given moment, and we will never be specific as to what we consider to be 'wrong' - we will be as vague as possible.

If that doesn't scare you, try reading Orwell's '1984' sometime...

Returns? I read the site every day. I just don't post as much as nin and Dan, that's all.

This is just GM repeating history like back in the 60's (and cashing in on the 'retro' craze of course). Ford introduced the Mustang in April of '64 and GM brought out their version of the 'pony car' in '67.

I knew this would happen, ever since I saw the concepts of the '05 Mustang. Since the Canadian plant that used to build the Camaro no longer exists, GM is free to use the name again.

I'm happy the Camaro is coming back, but not too crazy about the looks of the concept (basically it's a spaced-out version of the '69), and I don't think I'd ever buy one because I like mine just fine. I'm sure there will be plenty of these at the local classic car cruises. Ugh.

Camaro, I would also like to thank you for your fine script and it's blocking ability...some of the ones listed below even showed up to prove how well it works!

One of these days I'll get off my lazy ass and add a proper ignore button next to the poster's name, so there's no need to futz around with the text input box.

I agree with everyone on you list, nin, except for Bhruic... I was wondering why you're blocking him? From reading through his earlier posts he doesn't seem the trollish type like the others...

Complaints would be fully justified here if they went out on their own and silenced them, but not taking it through the proper channels.

So it's okay for Bush admin. officials to NOT go through proper channels by getting a warrant before doing any domestic wiretapping? There needs to be a VALID REASON they are taking our phone records, not just because they're feeling a little handicapped because of due process.

But now these officials want to go through proper channels in order to keep Maine from looking at evidence that Verizon handed over user records to the NSA? Are you kidding me?

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines05/1216-01.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Intelligence_Surveillance_Act

This isn't a matter of national security. Any "terrorists" would have to be as dumb as Riley P. to think their communications are not being monitored. Bush and co. broke the law and are trying to cover it up. Period.

If it was up to me, I'd send Bush and his cronies over to Abu Ghraib and let the Iraqis have a little payback. If our government really wants to protect us, they can concentrate on domestic issues for a while and keep their noses out of the Middle East.
