Dude UFO stands for "unidentified flying object". Nothing about that implies extraterrestrial origins. Probably some Chinese spy drones or something.

Much of NC is undeveloped wasteland, anyways. Driving from Raleigh to Wilmington is just two hours of nothing.

I cannot believe Diablo 4 has (so far) decided to go back to having scrolls for teleport and identify in game. Literally time wasting, space wasting items.

There was just an article with the creator of Diablo about that. He said they wanted loot to feel like playing a slot machine, and they thought having to identify items before using them basically turned loot into two slot machines.

It was SO fucking annoying in Diablo 2 getting 400 set amulets and they were all Cathan's instead of Tal Rasha's, or unique rings that were fucking Nagelring instead of SoJ.

Ahh yes old timey workouts. Right up there with Steak and Eggs.

95% of what people weight is based on how many calories they take in vs. how many they burn. It's simple math. I work with a large number of obese people. They marvel at my normal BMI. Put in what you burn and stay where you are. It really is that simple for 95% of the population.

Except it's really not. That's what I used to think, but the research doesn't support it. Read a book called The Obesity Code. It takes a very deep and very scientific look at the fundamental causes of widespread obesity (spoiler: it's mostly caused by processed foods industry and putting sugar in everything).

I'm on the same GPU and a marginally worse CPU. I always thought I'd be building a new PC this year, but... frankly, it still feels fine in 1080p, and instead I'm buying a house, so I have no issues getting another year or 3 out of this.

Except I tried to play Cyberpunk and it's unplayable (sub 30FPS regardless of settings). Sure, that's because the game is an unoptimized piece of shit, but still... It hurts my ego.

Yeah but the sales in America are abysmal. Other countries (Asia, Middle East) are investing more into it than we are as we have gone all-in on electric. Besides the problem of sourcing hydrogen, hydrogen fueling stations require significantly more investment than electric charging stations. And hydrogen presently costs way more than gas or electricity. I saw an article that improvements in hydrogen manufacturing should reduce its price by 90% over the next thirty years, but that's along time to be losing ground to electric.

It's just an immature technology that isn't getting the kind of investment it needs to reach maturity. My undergraduate physics professor from a few years ago (who is very Russian and annoyingly intelligent) swore hydrogen fuel cells were the future. What's not to like? You take water, you blast it with sunlight, and you get 100% clean fuel.

Nobody gave up on hydrogen fuel cells, it is still actively being developed. Just not as rapidly as battery tech.

Yeah, the more I play the more things I find wrong with it.. It lacks polish in just about every area, unfortunately. I like the gist of it, but I don't know why people are gawking at it in amazement.

It really needs some serious polish. And audio leveling. Some things are extremely loud.

A horrible dearth of new games would be my guess.

I loved Diablo 2, but I probably have almost 1000 hours in the game, vanilla, LoD, and mods. I can't bring myself to spend $40 or whatever to replay literally that same game with updated graphics. I seriously hope you guys that end up getting it enjoy it though, I'm just burned out.

Same, I swore a blood oath I'd never play Diablo 2 again.

Risotto was never considered "hard" to make, just ridiculously time consuming. I think most people cheat their way through it by adding cream to rice to give it the right consistency, rather than sitting their stirring it with a spoon for 45+ minutes.

Whenever I make risotto, i make it as a main dish (with mushrooms), and then I can serve it with something simple like grilled chicken or sausage (or I would if I still ate meat).

I was gonna try this on Game Pass until like two days ago I found out it was inexplicably not being offered on Game Pass on PC.

I'm sorry, but wasn't it Microsoft's intention to make Game Pass seamless across their platforms???

The game has multiple aspects -- exploring, building, farming, mining, or simply flying around and being in space...

None of which are done well. That's the difference. Combat is terrible (both on foot and in space), exploration is almost terrible (the sad fact of proc gen is that things that are proc genned will never be as compelling as things that are hand crafted), building is... OK at best (you don't make buildings that *do* things like you do in other games), farming I won't even mention, and mining, the fucking mining, is the most pointless time sync of the game, same as it ever was. You spend all this time mining the same multicolored blocks over and over so you can upgrade some stat in some small way or add one more inventory slot so you can mine even more of the same shit.

I tried long and hard to really enjoy NMS but the entire experience is just so hollow and tedious.
