I was going to user Uber Eats at the start of the homestay order when I saw they were offering "free delivery" from local restaurants. Then I got to the end of the order process and saw a 10% "service fee" tacked on by Uber Eats.

Bunch a fucking dickheads. You know when Chipotle offers "free delivery" it's the same fucking price I'd pay if I drove to the store and ordered it in person. Hence the "FREE" thing.

Because legacy, dude. There is so much ancient infrastructure out there, you can't just wipe out support for it and not expect any consequences.

Apparently you can play a modern version of Diablo 2 using Grim Dawn and this mod.

I've been doing this hard for the past week.
How is it?

What he said, it's remarkably like playing Diablo 2. A lot of areas feel like 3D versions of the originals, but some are updated to look and feel more like they should (like the Black Marsh is actually a marsh now). It's a pretty uncanny effort.

Grabbed a NES Switch Lite for giggles. Pretty cool to watch my 6-yo son play original NES games. They were so much harder and didn't explain a damn thing back then. There is no manual and he is figuring it out. Cool to watch it happen and be transported into the time when I first played the games. Worth every penny.

Well there are also only two buttons... if not A, then B.

Always celebrate our anniversary by cooking.

I started playing Bannerlord (having never played much of the original M&B) and am having quite a good time. Game is still very much early access (which I'd previously sworn off of, but desperate times...) but I knew I was going to enjoy myself as soon as the Conan-esque intensely manly title music started playing.

Never heard of a little game called Skyrim? The music, besides being widely loved, was integral in creating such perfect atmospheres.

For anyone bored and out of stuff to watch, there's currently a free month of Shudder available on Prime Video which besides having a bunch of old thriller/horror movies has a somewhat interesting show called The Dead Lands. It's about New Zealand tribal mythology.

I feel like they really could have picked a name that wouldn't be mistaken for glorifying police shootouts.

That's what it obviously does, though. Hence "NEGOTIATE WITH CRIMINALS" instead of "engage and question suspects or suspicious persons."

What a dumb fucking game.

I'm using my time at home to dive back into Pinball FX3, and finally started seriously reading again.

I hadn't realized Jeff VanderMeer had new books out.

Why don't they try actually making it easy to stream Steam games to TVs?

Steam Link is an app now, instead of a set-top box. Probably won't be getting any easier than that, outside of investing in a 50- or 100-foot HDMI cable.

Huh I hadn't realized that. How do input devices work, though? I'm positive my cheap Roku TV doesn't accept bluetooth devices or USB dongles for mice, but I imagine my Firestick might work...

Yeah but you have to hold it down for a stupidly long time. I just let DS4Windows turn it off after 10 minutes of idle time.

Working from home is exhausting when you can't leave. There becomes no difference between 8pm on a Saturday and 10am on a Tuesday. If you're awake, you may as well work. Do you want to take a break? You can walk maybe 5 feet. You're walking around significantly less, and changing gears less, so everything becomes some really weird blur. Any distinction between work and not work totally ends. Yeah, you can set boundaries, but at some point they stop feeling as if they matter. You're going to be on the same couch or seat. There's not much to do. May as well do some work, especially since you probably have Teams and Outlook on every screen you loonat and can see it's buzzing with a question.

It's not physically exhausting, it's mentally.

My GF is basically a zombie these past two weeks. I don't think it helps not having a commute (hers is normally 30-45 minutes).... she wakes up, cleans up, and sits down to work.

Ummm PSX had great emulation on the PC. Bleem didn't have the best compatibility, but it allowed you to change graphics settings. CVGS on the other hand ran pretty much exactly like a PSX. As I never owned a PSX, that was how I played most PS1 games... including like a half dozen runs through Symphony of the Night.

In fact VGS was so popular that Sony sued the creators and when the lawsuit ended in favor of VGS they bought the creators and discontinued VGS.

That sucks man. Does your living will include a clause for your Steam library?

I've been spending my days in the house plowing through Infinity Engine games again. Finished Baldurs Gate, Baldurs Gate 2, Icewind Dale so far. They sure don't make them like they used to.
