After spending some time with it I've concluded the game is extremely CPU dependent, even a mild OC on my 2500k makes a massive difference in framerate while swapping GPUs had little effect on performance. It's a good port overall but it feels like it could still use some optimization to offload more to the GPU, mine doesn't even max utilization sometimes. Anyone who is looking to increase performance for this game is probably better off upgrading their CPU rather than their GPU.

I notice a major frame drop when using the MP3 radio station while the action replay functionality is enabled.

What were these fools thinking allowing mods. Those could have all been DLC and they would've made billions!

And if they'd made it online only and prevented the pirates from playing they could have had trillions!

I am really enjoying Daredevil. Good acting, good scripts, and the fight scenes are old school. Loving it all!

is this like some ironic hipster thing? The fight scene posted here is so slow, has no energy, and it's really obvious that Ben TheFleck can't do any of those moves properly.

Well, that's not Ben Affleck.

I've checked the temperatures, they seem in to be well within normal ranges. It seems to be pretty random, sometimes it's right away other times it won't happen at all. It's definitely corruption on specific memory location because the artifacts will only occur on specific geometry in the game. If I look away from that spot everything is fine. This is really noticeable when playing City Skylines. Some random intersection or building will start doing this and will give me a little light show even when rotating the camera as long as it's on the screen... but if I pan away from that the rest of the city is fine. Never happens in CS:GO or other games but then I'll play another FPS and there it again, blasting off of some random point in the map or maybe a piece of the HUD. I get it in Civ 5 occasionally too.

Check the line voltages on the PCIE connectors to the card, chances are you've got a bad 12v rail in there somewhere. Or you've got dram that's going for a shit.

You may be on to something with the voltage considering the same thing was happening with my 5870 before the 7970. Just weird that it's not more often if that's the case.

If he wants to prove that in some way, good luck. But that's not how Kickstarter works.

He also doesn't say it's a Kickstarter system. Maybe someone whipped up a script to do that.

But anyways, yeah it's dumb speculation. The only reason I replied was because replying "bullshit" to "sounds like" is kind of odd. I'd reserve that for people claiming something as fact.

Oh, I know it doesn't, that's why I'm asking him to backup his bullshit.

To be fair he said "Sounds like there is a system in place" and based on what Virge described it does sound like that. I don't think there is one but that's the appearance being given. Kind harsh to call speculation "bullshit", he may be shooting the shit but not bullshitting

Usually I'd say overheating. Does it take a while before it starts happening?

The announcement was that it is now a full release, no longer early access.

Probably because he was chompin at the bit (of bread) to get that pun in.

Nah, the headline on Steam News is pretty clear, if wrong:

Now Available on Steam Early Access - I am Bread, 25% off!

On you're right of course. I was reading it from on the product page which says Full Release.

Hey looks like they fixed it on their end too now

I have a 7970. It should be up to the task for this and GTAV but in some games it has a habit of getting those shooting geometry rays graphical corruption. Dunno what it's deal is but I had the same issue with my last card. If it pulls that shit on Witcher 3 or GTAV I'm kicking it to the curb and going to Nvidia for the first time since the Ti4200.

The steam version launches the rockstar client, it does not download through steam. I do not believe you can back it up on steam either.

My preload was definitely done through Steam.

Maybe at the end of this one, they'll do a timeline reboot and start the next series of games off in WW2 again! I mean, time travel isn't so far fetched in this series anymore.

Hey Treyarch how about Call of Duty 3-2 huh? Criminally underrated CoD in my opinion. But hey, robots and explosions!

A fish-out-of-water narrative where either a WW2 soldier is transported to modern warfare or a modern soldier is transported to WW2 could actually be kind of neat.

Jesus they really need to start packing these on blurays (for PCs).
Yeah cuase we all have bluray roms.

I know that, but they are default on consoles now. The PC market/industry needs to make them as affordable and common on PC as DVD drives have been forever. I have a bluray drive on my PC, but have only used it a couple times with the VLC player process for movie playback. On top of that, on PCs (and by extension Microsoft specifically) they deliberately decided not to include playback and made them so you have to buy third party software to even play anything with it due to 'licensed tech' bullshit. They've gotta do something about it eventually as games have become enormous. Its less an issue for consoles, since they can simply pack the games on blurays.
I didn't realize the price for a PC BRD had fallen to $40. Might have to pick one up...

They've been pretty cheap for a long time. I remember back in 2007 everyone was saying the PS3 was a good deal just for the "cheap" bluray player. My college roommate and I split a combination HDDVD/BluRay drive that cost $150 for our living room PC and were like, "What's cheap about a $500 dollar bluray player?"

The preload seems to be about 53GB not 60. Because I had 63GB on the drive and after finishing the preload I still have 10 left over.

Don't forget your GTA 5 preload is no available. And it's a 60 gig DL. I can't believe these guys didn't compress this shit.

Just cleared up 60GB on the SSD. Had to part with a bunch of games that I kept saying, "But I might want to eventually play this..."
Who am I kidding, if I'm not playing them now I'm definitely not playing them once GTAV and the Witcher 3 are out.

Weird...

My only guess is that Amazon wants it for a VR project in its skunkworks. Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Apple want to compete with each other in every facet of tech so when one jumps the rest follow. Drones? Sky WiFi? Car AI? Tablets? etc etc.

Amazon does own game development studios...

I know, right? Did anybody RTFA?

An impressive one with some big names.

Hey Amazon owns game studios, they picked up lots of talent lately, I read the article...
None of these things are mutually exclusive with my speculation over Amazon having a VR project in their skunkworks.

tl;dr: bronies are a bunch of poorly adjusted adults and/or perverts.

I don't care if that offends, bronies are fuckin creepy. I remember taking our little one when she was 4 to a local promo event involving My Little Pony. There were some weird fuckin fat sweaty dude there by himself just staring at the kids, I wanted to beat the shit out of him but thankfully security eventually had a few quiet words with him and he left.

That must have been pretty early on... I'd assume the entirety of those events are those guys now.
