I mean, that's kind of the point of the 'e' in Esports no?
To differentiate it from regular "sports" without the 'e'.

A sport requires a modicum of physical effort at the very least. Why not call it what it is? Pro-Gaming. If gaming is a sport than so is watching TV.

Let's say I'm fine with your definition... however this is an "esport" not a "sport".
You can count the letters if you'd like. Those are different words.

I really need to keep an ear out for Widowmaker's ultimate pop, and just hold back until it's finished.

It's apparently intentionally quieter than most of them, and you will not hear it if you are not within a certain range of her.

You do see it on the replay though, so a team with good communication should be able to relay it pretty quickly.

Though since competitive was off during the open beta I'm not sure if kill cams are on during that too.

"The only permitted hacks are those already built in, like seeing through walls."

I had 2-3 distinct moments toward the end of the Beta where I was sure someone was cheating.. only to be shown the replay where I was highlighted in red to everyone on the enemy team.

I really need to keep an ear out for Widowmaker's ultimate pop, and just hold back until it's finished.

Maining Zenyatta, Widowmaker is pretty much my nemesis. I've seen so many damn replays where she ignores my teammates and goes for me. Super frustrating but understandable. If she doesn't have her wallhacks on and I'm familiar with where she's at I can lay down some suppressing fire and get her to go away. But most of my team tend to ignore her way off in the distance like she is, they have more pressing concerns a few feet in front of them.

A hero does not need to be good in every situation.

Except Symmetra is only good in VERY SPECIFIC situations, and again, ONLY with good team support. Her weapon is mostly unusable (M1 range is basically spitting distance, M2 is laughably slow), her shield is pointlessly ineffectual, and her sentries have too long a CD and are too easily killed by random dmg. Meanwhile the teleporter has only six charges (what????), doesn't recharge while deployed, and is fucking ANNOUNCED TO THE ENEMY TEAM (like D.Va's for some inexplicable reason).

Symmetra's sentries are extremely powerful when they're unexpected... Which is about all of the damn time if she's placing them right. Even once you know about them they're not easy to clear out assuming you've got enemy action in front of you and you need to turn your back to clear sentries that are going to kill you if you take half a second too long.

I enjoyed playing this a lot more on my PS4 than PC for some reason. Felt more comfortable sitting on the couch in a party with a controller than mouse and keyboard. That being said $60 for multiplayer only... I think I'll pass for now. Wait for a sale or some new modes to come out that look interesting.
$60 is for the Origins Edition, which gives you bonus items. You can buy the Standard Edition for $40.

And the bonus items are only 4 skins, the unlockable ones are better imo anyway. The other extra stuff is for other Blizzard games that are not Overwatch.

Fucking $80? Suck my balls! Can't say I much care for the stylized look either.

$60.
What's the deal with people using digital deluxe prices all the time lately? Same thing was happening with Overwatch.

Because the deluxe is what used to be called the normal game. Not to mention all the "cut" dlc depending on who you ask/what game. Some games you can't even get the best play options without getting the deluxe edition.

No. Sorry that's not why people are mistakenly giving the digital deluxe price instead of the actual base price.

Hell, the majority of the additional content in Overwatch's digital deluxe edition wasn't even for Overwatch.

In general though, I've found I'm far more sensitive to low level background noise than most. When I still worked in an office, it wasn't that unusual for me to wander into the corridor and start asking people "what is that noise?" And have them say, "what noise?" I'd explain what I was hearing, then they would pause and listen and then say, "oh yeah, I hear it now." And it would be some stupid alert going off on the other side of the office or something...

I'm the same way, just not with white noise. If there's a beeping, a whining, a high pitched humming, a rattle... It's going to annoy me and I'm going to find it. But fans? Nah they're fine.

Am I the only one here who doesn't give a damn how loud my computer is?

I'm going to be wearing headphones all the time anyway. And I've been falling asleep to roaring case fans just about my whole life.

Only one unit per tile of V was a complete deal breaker for me. Capturing a city was about bringing a constant stream of single units rather than attacking it with large forces. It wasn't fun. It looks like they improved that a bit, but I don't feel like it'll be enough.

A constant stream won't even work. They made capturing cities more about pounding with artillery, ships, and/or bombers. The way that it should be.

What?! Disney have just demonstrated that they are idiots. Entertainment software is a huge growth sector. If they think they can't make shit-loads of money with it then they just aren't doing it right - the money is there even if they're blind to it.

Edit: Especially with the franchises that Disney owns that can be made into games.

That's kind of the whole point. They'd rather make the free money licensing than having to actually do work and take risk.

LucasFilm/LucasArts thought it was quite well to make games in-house. Contracting out to the proverbial "India call center" I don't believe is the best way to ensure the best quality and therefore longevity of their brand. They should hire in-house, and build up a branch of their operation that rivals their film branches today.

Contracting to the "India call center" ? I think you're looking at this the wrong way, it's more like allowing Valve/Blizzard/EA/Epic/Ubisoft to publish and develop the games instead of Disney. It's a good thing. Licensing still requires picking the right company, I don't think they'll be going with no-name "India call center" to make their Star Wars game.
