I can think of several $200 video cards that would be quite well off for several years to come (not to mention do graphical things you will have to buy the "next generation" of console past this one to even think about doing).

Very true. It's all about the timing. I owned a fairly average pc with x800 platinum until just before Christmas and it served me fine. Until Supremem Commander came out and proved my system had finally bitten the dust.

Gamepad is out of the question for me playing any fps. I just cannot being myself to use it - it's like travelling first class and yet being forced to travel coach again. Then again I've never travelled first class, but you know what I'm gettin at.

Good I hope they take these and other developers to task on junk like this. The reckless ammounts of filth in nearly every game made now is getting rediculous.

you guys crying about freedom need to ask yourselves why the "freedom" talked about these days always seems to revolve around being a sick and perverted as you can possibly get and dragging society into the toilet with you.

I like this guy.

Ah maybe I'm looking at a demo of the first. I guess this is like the next one in the series? Never heard of it before now anyway.

It's kinda ugly and it's certainly bug filled, even some objects are untextured, but strangely I like it for some reason.

Edit: Comments on demo btw.

I really, really want this as I love a simple deathmatch from time to time. Player numbers bother me though Guess I'm not helping by holding out. Hope they address the interface and server browser.

There's just not much incentive for developers to sink tons of resources into AAA titles and leave consoles out anymore.

Sad, but so very true.

I never understood the attraction of coming home from work, sitting down in front of the pc and repeating your life in a virtual world. I guess millions out there do though, so who am I to speak?

Try to get out of the mentality of needing everything at max right here and right now (even if it's justified). You'll feel a lot better in the long run.

I still cant play Oblivion at max settings at a speed I would think my rig is capable of. That's with a pc I got just before Christmas and yes I have very good components and the machine was setup very cleanly.

I loved the first mission of COD4 and the introduction, being driven through the streets in the back of the car (more because of the audio in that section). Outside of that, I got the same feeling I did with Doom 3 toward the end - "please let it end".

Maybe I'm getting tired of shooters where there is nothing else to do but shoot stuff. Gimme some kind of interaction with other characters (Deus Ex) and some exploration with variation in environments like Morrowind (Oblivion failed there). Not continuous action. Maybe I'm getting too old?

Its set in Africa. There are jungle sections, but not like the ones in the original apparently. Looks really good anyway, I will pick it up for sure.

To lay off an entire team to me spells one thing - mismanagement.
