I only prefer pc's for their versatility. I can play games, watch movies (though you can also do this on consoles), make music with powerful audio software, create graphics in programs like photoshop, animate, post processing the list is almost endless.

Of course all that costs money though, fortunately (unfortunately?) something I care little about.

If Best of Show is won by Rock Band, I may have to start focusing on other hobbies like fishing and remote control.

Or picking up a guitar from eBay.

THQ is making a WH40K MMOG.

Maybe my abstinence from MMORPG's will finish when it releases? Mmm. Warhammer.

Ubisoft owned the rights to Far Cry.

Actually they acquired it from the devs.

Not to get spoiled on info? This is one of the longest press releases I have ever seen At least on Blues.

I hate hypocrites. I'll bet you $1000 these are the same people that championed "The Passion of the Christ" and defended it to the bitter end.

Your comment assumes The Passion of the Christ was to be enjoyed purely for the violence alone instead of what it stood for. Unlike manhunt.

Portal and Ep1 & Ep2 are complete products (in one package)

Maybe I misunderstood this, but episode 1 is absolutely not a complete product in my mind. I don't think it's much more than a light expansion pack or mod. However I do understand the increasing demands of games these days. Who knows, maybe this industry will eat itself under it's own spoilt consumer base constantly wanting more, where developers cant deliver?

It also puzzles me as why people think hiring mod developers and releasing professional versions of the products is considered a bad thing.

It's not considered a bad thing in my mind, but when people give credit to the parent company instead, then that's a problem.

Sorry if I see this differently, but now I see Valve as a money leech preparing multiple small packages for purachse, rather than providing content for free such as companies like Epic. Of course, as a business practice this is about as fine as it gets. Business wise there is nothing wrong with trying to keep your company healthy, so I'm not saying Valve are wrong in this case.

I just happen to admire those companies that try to please a community with free content more than those that try to sell it. It somehow seems more "honest" to me.

Only real product I see on that list that counts is EP1. EP2, TF2, and Portal don't make the list as A) they're not out yet and B) Valve won't hit their Oct. 9 date. They never do.

Also isnt portal developed independently? Seems that list is being reduced in size somewhat. Also Gears of War came with deathmatch and coop built in, so if you want you can split those off into 2 extra projects and then Epic's content doesn't seem so bad

Youre not alone, it's dragging out. With the painful speed at which they are releasing episodes I'd much rather have a big blockbuster release every few years instead of this trickling content.

I don't think you understood what I was trying to say. Doom3 shadows were RGB 0/0/0 - that is total lack of any color. That is not the case with this engine, there are details in the dark you can actually see. That's a difference.

Now that's progress!
