What's Starcraft? On a serious note, can't wait.

saturation of the market with dozens of consoles? check
hundreds of mostly low-quality games? check
Hundreds of games in development? check

There's one difference though. Back then it was almost entirely relegated to kids and nerds. There was a much smaller amount of consumers that were interested in them.

These days the market is positively huge, but then again GTA4 is only 1 game out of many.

Guess I should have read the fricken article. Oops. I guess being able to adjust volume on different musical components is a pretty valid reason. I still see a slow adoption rate to a format like this even though it sounds neat.

Not sure a feature like that is enough for a planet based on years of mp3 conversion to suddenly shift over to a new format though.

• Knowingly making a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal

Straight out of a lawyers handbook. Which lawyer doesn't do this?

First time I thought iD had some stiff competition graphically too. Actually I thought they'd outdone Q2 with this.

I think that is why 1 member (or more) was opposed to the idea. Because if you returned to the old formula you would be scorned and if you didn't, you would be scorned too. It's a lose/lose situation...

FC2 seems alot more orange'ish.

Yeah they need to run a post effect that desaturates that. But maybe that's the art style they are going for?

Edit: I think a more logical comparison would have included something without ray tracing, to get a balanced view.

This just confirms why I dont play MMORPGs. If you need a program to play the game for you, it's too tedious for the player.

...since Q2 (which is widely considered the best FPS of it's era, and I personally hold as the best multiplayer shooter ever

I challenge that and say that Quake 1 was an awesome MP experience, especially since it heralded the internet MP era

Here in Australia, video cards can easily be $1000.

Which for the uninitiated equals, what... 5 Euro?

I remember loving the "turn 180-degrees" button. That was before being owned by early mouse look adopters...

I was one of those guys (in another game) and boy did I waste people in MP in those days. So good.

The concept of standalone cards purely for physics was a wildly optimistic idea. I suspect they wont survive.

Costs me $20 a year but I get EXACTLY what I want. Mail and NOTHING but mail. No ads, no weather map, nothing but my mail.

Strange that you have to pay for less features.

I skipped an entire gaming generation with the Amiga unfortunately. I went straight from C64 to the PC, but I did play the original a few times at my friends place. Loved it.
