Is it possible to play this without widescreen? My videocard (7600gt) supports it but my monitor is an older 19" crt
(not widescreen!)

It'd be awesome if they made the Ultimate game all Ultimate players are looking for... but we'd all prefer it if Discraft was behind it. =D

How DO you get around the securom startup issue? I don't have any hiders running, don't even have virtual drives going, and even jumped through the suggested hoops they provide for getting around it.

Cuz it offers about 2 minutes of gameplay, is why! And as for the 2 minutes that you -do- get to play, I find it actually -less- fun than both of its two predecessors; in this "trial", zombies pop up in big clusters, and you have a shotgun. All of this results in not needing to aim; you can almost just leave the thing in the middle of the screen and click (autoreload too) until 2 minutes is up. OK, nobody was expecting it to be great, but man, this is a letdown.

OK, well does anyone have any ideas as to why I STILL can't decompress this thing with winzip9/xp decompress?

Riker, I missed your first post. Were you having corruption difficulties? If so, did bringing down your firewall allow you to download this thing properly? I've tried 4-5 times now to download, opening the zip with winzip9 and the xp decompression tools to no avail. I still have the last downed file sitting around just in case, but if you read this lemme know.

So what if I AM using Winzip9 and I get corruption errors? This is the 3rd download attempt I've made. Or maybe did I need to restart after updating my winzip8 to 9?

The Good Lord gave us ten fingers for a reason.

Yes, and I'm sure that reason was to blow countless hours of time playing videogames. =P

Well the vast majority of the world doesn't pull in enough income to support 5+ gaming platforms as a hobby (or perhaps doesn't have parents who do), so I'm gonna say although you're not alone you're one of the few.

Indeed a really strange move. Happily I bought a cube a while ago for Starcraft:Ghost. It's not a bad buy! Lotta neat stuff out.

If you read previews (try IGNCube's hands-on) and check out the very short gameplay movies out there, you'll see that this is a different game altogether. The environment looks different, the skin looks different, the movement is not as previewers described, there is much more restriction in webswinging, etc, etc. Oh, and this demo sucks, whereas reportedly the in-progress game is nothing short of spectacular.

I played it for the cube a while back, and I must say I actually enjoyed it. In fact, to be honest I think it runs nearly side by side with GTA3. There are points better about this (I like the driving, fighting, shooting, and rpg-elements) and points better about GTA. Dunno how well it ported, but that's my 2 cents.

not just drug dealers, but CORRUPT drug dealers? wow, them sure are some bad boys...

I just hate it when a nice, upstanding dealer with a promising future in the narcotics industry goes rotten.

You know what would be neat? A graphical adventure game, state-of-the-art tech and all, but with a text interface, like king's quest or lsl1.

Hearing things like this makes me want to cry. Somebody should show all the kids that adventure games are cool (market them properly) and produce really wicked adventures (sam & max 2) for all to play. Somebody (Lucasarts) really should. (Other companies would follow suit)

Just. Do. Tie. Fighter. 2. Already. God damn it.

Amen. Not XvT, not Alliance(or whatever XvT's flightsim successor was)... not Rogue Squadron (although that was a great game)... not even X-Wing. Do TIE Fighter 2. Hell, take the original and redo the graphics, add MP and I will be 100% satisfied.

I'd like to post a comment about the actual post, if I may.

This is the greatest press release ever! The plot summary is fantastic! What a background story! And the character? A trooper of the government army! What depth! What scope! This has never been done before! The premise itself simply boggles the mind! You play a nondescript, generic soldier who has to -get this- KILL ALIEN MUTANTS! With weapons and equipment!

And the features just make my mouth water in vaguely sexual anticipation! There's support of Multiplayer! Do you know what that means? It means lots of people can play together! I can see it now: 16 generic soldiers, all shooting each other with 16 fantastic deadly weapons, in the future of our Universe! It's visionary! And really, who hasn't been craving a game with Terrific 3d action? You just can't find that anywhere else but here! Operation:Matriarchy, people! Probably a poor imitation of an oversaturated genre! Where do I sign up to preorder?

(Following is a transcript of the events leading up to the press release)

Buka(in Russian): Hey, Clyde, we're making this game. It's an FPS, and really it's nothing new, and it doesn't work that well. I don't really like it. Can you write up a press release to hype it up to Americans?

Clyde: Sh*t Buka, another one? I haven't seen Janice in 3 months, and I haven't slept in 2 weeks! Also, the bandaid you told me to put around this compoud fracture is starting to smell funny.

Buka: Shut up, Clyde. OK, it's about... um... it's about aliens. Yah, aliens. They turn all the chicks into mutants. Strong ones. But with big hooters. Think up a cool name for the aliens, Clyde. Yah, so you're this elite trooper guy and you kill the aliens. And you get guns and stuff. OK, go to it.

Clyde: Wait! What about the hook?

Buka: Dude, I just gave it to you! OK, how bout this. We got some multiplayer, but the netcode's kind of funky. Oh, and there's lots of levels. Sammy said 15 or something. More than 15. Oh yah, when you shoot a guy, make that a hideous but still strangely attractive alien mutant girl, when you shoot him... her... in the head, she dies right away. That's new, isn't it? We picked it up from this other game called SiN. Cutting edge stuff. OK, shut up and get to work.

I think it was supposed to be "will -you- choose." Just a guess.
