I actually did. I beat it on every single difficulty then I beat in coop on every difficulty and I still don't get enough of xbconnect Halo The game reminds me of mass amount of Mobs as in DOOM I guess thats what I like. Well I don't like the stupid car, its like its damn wheels are made up of butter. I still love the Pin the Plasma Grenede and watch em run or suicide into you :).. and the Chief Looks COol, got to love that suite.

Also helps that my friend works for Bungie so I get to see stuff most people don't

I find Steam Very Intrusive its a system hog, it runs awfull, its slow, eats memory like no tomorow, and it doesn't works goot 40% of the time and I am guaranteeing it you will see stupid patches get released through that crap.

I guess you maybe right. I did read about the Line thingies and it did sound better when there were less of em. I am use to geting Zerged in DaoC by 50 PC's or more, I was expecting the same thing.

100 person battle is pretty big if you ask me 200 even on a slightly spread out area is big. Last time I checked BF1942 had at most 64 player max servers, Oh wait ever play on one well I haven't cause they suck, nothing but horid lag. A grand battle to me is 100 (no LAG) players but there are different thing involved Tanks, Airplanes, Transports ground and air, Personal combat vehicles etc. Turrets engineers land mines, etc.
Mind you DAOC has some grand battles, 300 people raid is not an uncommon thing but don't expect more then 10 frames a second. By the sounds of things you expect a little bit to much from the current technology available.

Hmm Halo 2 I will play just because I loved Halo. It was a well made game with a lot of replayability value, and it had CO-OP (which realy made the game for me)
Doom 3 I anticipate the Engine more then the game itself, I think John Carmack is a genious in his own right but I don't consider ID a good game developer. Although the E3 Build was pretty damn spanky.
HalfLife 2. I hated the First Half Life, cartoony graphics really not that spectacular gameplay (SOF was Much better imho) Stupid sounds, bad music composition etc.. The list goes on and On for me. I only had HL installed cause I enjoyed CS gameplay. Well until CS got high Jacked by Valve and it was buggered up. I prefered the Mod when it was just a Mod not a retail game, (more inovation imo). Now that HL 2 is coming out I was like wow Valve = Talentless Sacks of Crap actually developed something. I don't have a prob with HL2 because it maybe a great game and it can maybe be like the GOD of FPS games, But I don't think I will bother with it because it will most likely be packaged with that stupid Steam delivery system (I think this is the worst thing ever) So most likely you will have to pay extra money for this game somewhere because STEAM will be required. STEAM = +ing pile of Crap (sh17)/

I agree this game is one of the most boring MMORPGS I have ever played.

I realy enjoyed this game. I play MMORPG's I love em, Played AC, JumpGate, Earth above and Beyond, DaoC, EVE, etc.. I like all those games but they always lacked the action packed moments. Planetside on the other hand is a blast because its on a grand scale FPS.

I admit BF1942 is great but it realy has some pitfalls compared to PlanetSide. I own BF1942 but I realy didn't enjoy it to much myself.

BF1942 has on par same stuff as PlanetSide but it lacks few things tho. I quit playing BF1942 1.5 months after I got it and went back to CS just because I was not to impressed with it, Liked the demo but the game just didn't turn my crank.
My pet peeves about BF1942 are:
LAG.
No grand Battles.
Vehicle/Airplane/Boat Campers.
Moron's which run ship onto the shores.
TK'ers.
Useless classes. (When is the Last time a Medic actually healed you, or engineer fixed your vehicle, Most people Kamikaze into stuff).
Lack of Descent in game Voice Comm.
Poor Frame Performance for the graphics given. (Even on My system its kinda sick.)
Finding a good server thats not always full.

PlanetSide on the other hand has solved a lot of those issues.
(Downside not free to play)
(Downside No ships, but you can get hover vehicles)
I never have to look for a server its always there and always the same PING.
Hardly any TK'rs because the consequances of TKing are pretty good. (Ie not being able shoot or drive a vehicle if you inflict to much FF)
Vehicles are unique to all three sides.
NO Vehicle/Airplane campers, every one has a chance to get a vehicle, that is if your certified.
No Useless classes, Medic's actualy heal, Engineers Fix Stuff, Snipers don't suck total butt, oh and can't forget Heavy infantry and Infiltrators.
Extremly good vid Performance for Graphics given.
Awsome in game Voice Comm.
One more thing, PlanetSide has actual commanders that people listen too, much easier to coordinate stuff.
Oh can't forget Weapons of Mass Destruction with good Command Rank.

I work with computers 10 hours a day and I frankly am not in the mood to go looking for servers with good ping and enough players after work, I like my reliability and availability of servers and guaranteed game time.

As for loosing and taking bases and have no meaning, thats not true because in PlanetSide you get Exp for them which in turn get you levels and with levels you get more certifications that allow you to do more stuff. IMHO I am willing to pay for those things the 12.95 a month fee. Its asking your self the same question would you subscribe to a news paper or read it online for free. Oh I am an official Beta Tester so I recieved CD-Roms in the mail every beta, its 2.6 gig install and I wouldn't even want to download that just to see the beta.
