The problem with that logic is the fact that you still have to buy the game to see if you like it. I put down 50$ for a game that I stopped playing after a good solid week. I'll never play it again. Now I'm stuck with it. MMORPGS need to adopt a different kind of purchase method. For example, download the client and play free for 7 days. If you like it, buy it.

Of all the mmorpgs out there, this has the *second* least amount of longterm value next to City of Heroes. Dont buy FFXI or CoH.

It's no wonder why developers seem to be "abandoning" the pc market and developing for console more nowadays. Everywhere you go, and I mean everywhere, you see a thread of PC gaming fans just constantly whining, bitching, moaning, complaining, theorizing, etc etc about development of a product they know absolutely nothing about. Who wants to make games for people like that? Who wants to make games for fans who just turn on you in seconds? It's amazing. The consolers who are purpetrated (sp) to be 13 years old bitch 100% less.

Bottom line is: the developers owe the customer NOTHING. They make a product and see if you buy it. If you do, great. Everything they do after that, be it extra maps, mods, etc, is strictly from the kindness of their heart. They dont have to support their own product if they don't want to. Granted, that's not a wise decision..

No, these are in-game shots. I believe it.

The art in this game sucks, but the lighting is good. You can fake good lighting in just about any engine as long as you know how to "render to texture" in max 5+6.

Either that, or they have a precalc'd radiosity solution like max payne or hl2.

Agreed. I never got into worms until I played Worms World Party on the PC. We still play it on LAN. Good fun. I never really played W3d though, but I plan on picking it up when it's available for Xbox.

Good. Their designers need some.

Heheh. I wouldn't even play. I'd just make fun of him with the text-to-speech tech that's in ut2004.

"Anarchy Online"

But as for new games, someone should just take the Shadowrun license and make an online game from that with a GM-aspect to it. You have a character that runs on missions. The experience he gains can be put towards GM-abilities to GM your own missions. Coupled with the futuristic post-apocalyptic atmostphere of Shadowrun, tell me that wouldn't be cool..

I like the blurb: 'Yes, I am an untouched screenshot!'

No $hit. I can tell, but you're flaunting the idea that it's too good to look untouched, in which case, it doesn't. Oh, and I like commas.

Apparently you people never played this game. It's very good and doesn't really need the patch, which fixes small issues. Although I'm interested in the performance increases. It's an underhyped game that seriously deserves attention.

Call of Duty.. I'm sorry, but that game really doesn't deserve the attention it gets.

Onslaught is nothing more than Battlefield, which was Domination but with spawn points and vehicles I'm sure as hell not going to slap down 50$ for this game. Way too much I think.

AO has always been an excellent mmorpg. It's a shame alot of people won't play it because of the rocky release it had years ago.

Excuse me, but does this shot look doctored to anyone else?

http://www.gamespy.com/interviews/january04/swbattlefront/23.jpg

Look at that "figure" on the right of the screenshot that looks like it's supposed to be a character, but it looks more like a sprite due to some bad photoshop work.. Same goes for the orange things in the air.
