I thought the game was fantastic and never experienced the performance problems that some people were talking about. Maybe I'm just lucky or my system is configured in just the right way.

Black & White again? Puh-leeze! The first one wasn't anything to write home about. The expansion packs sucked... now we have another Peter Molyneux piece of shit coming. Hurray.

No wonder the PC market is dying.

I've been in since beta 3, and I've got to say this POS isn't ready. The servers are laggy, the graphics even on my Athlon 2100 w/ Ati Radeon 9700 Pro and 1 gig of system RAM are friggin slow as crap. The music and sound effects are the only part of the game that is ready right now--sadly, that's the best part.

The environments look good, the trees and grass are fantastic! Hell, but I don't want to spend my time (and $15 a month!) staring at good looking trees and grass. The character avatar graphics are laughable--Camelot's are much better--the special effects are lacking--EVE Online's smoke SWG--and the mobs are strangely familar--EQ anyone?

If you want EQ in with Star Wars texturemaps and models, but with all the bugs and crappy gameplay of EQ 4 years ago, then SWG is your game! Knock yourself out. But if you want a solid product, with a compelling story, strong quest line, and an immersive experience, then you'd be best off waiting for a while... a long while.

'nuff said.

1 EQ server doesn't hold 30,000 people. Talk about fabrications! I think you've shown your ignorance.

You can step off now.

I honestly cannot believe you are complaining that CCP has already released a patch. MY GOD!! Are you that stupid? I have played UO, EQ, and Camelot all right at release, and they all had large (30mb +) patches on the first day the game opened up. EVE had 15mb. And they had a 200kb patch on day 2 to fix some problems. UO and EQ both had patches the same day of release (hell, if their servers even stayed up!!!). So far, there have been no server crashes, I played for 12 hours straight on the first day, and I'm lovin' this.

Bash it all you want, but you OBVIOUSLY have no clue what you are talking about.

Funny, I have no problem running the game on my PIII/800 with ATI Radeon 8500 card and 512 mb RAM.

Maybe you should take off any resident crap you might have running in the background.

I've been playing for 2 days now (12 hours the first day!) and am loving it. No bugs other than the skill bug which is now fixed. No lag, great performance, pirates, and GAMEPLAY! HAHAHAAAA! I'm lovin' this!

All I can say is: FINALLY!
I've been waiting for this game, was one of the first in line for it at EB, and now I own it. Thank you CCP! I look forward to many months (years?) of playing EVE.

I'd like to point out that Shadowbane was incredibly laggy in beta and once they released and turned off all the server side logging, the lag was virtually gone. GONE!

Some gamers are so stupid and think that just because the game client has gone gold, NOBODY IS WORKING ON IT!

Wrong, pink-o.

Campion already said in the recent dev chat to clear this issue up that the team is still there working 16 hour days. It doesn't matter that the client is gold, because the game receives constant patches.

So sayeth me! So it shall be. (Dumbass)

Machinell I'm sorry but you display such moronic logic I have trouble fathoming it. You claim you know the game isn't ready and is unstable and that you were testing last year... then you claim you haven't tested in months, yet you somehow--without having seen the game recently, mind you--you somehow still know the game isn't ready?

How?

I think you are full of shit.

And as for number of players in the game, there are always close to 4000 if not more than 4000 players nowadays.

Machinell, you are telling people not to buy something based on knowledge you had 6 months ago. How can you do that? Eve is night and day different today than it was 6 months ago--any mmorpg is. That's why they autopatch!! Because they can be updated.

It's like if you played EQ when it was first released and hated it... now, years later, you still moan about it and try to get people not to play it based on your opinions you formed some 3 years ago. When in reality the game is totally different than it used to be.

Same way with eve.

Sheesh.

Machinell, how can you say this is like WW2OL? The eve beta months ago was better than WW2OL's release code. You say NPC's aren't implemented? Are you nuts? Convoys, pirates, police, Concord, rogue drones, etc. It could be you just haven't seen some of them because eve is a huge universe.

Who cares if there aren't a million features at release. Features can be added with patches, duh.

And if you're a beta player since last year and are still playing, they must be doing something right that's got you hooked! LOL

So many of these people are obvious trolls or employees of Sony Online Entertainment/SWG people here to discredit EVE. I have played UO, EQ, and DAoC for at least 18 months each, so I know what I'm talking about. I've been in the EVE beta for 5 months now, and have seen this game come a long way from unstable servers, little content, and boring gameplay. It is now one AMAZING piece of software, and it's not even released yet! I shutter to think what this game will be in another 6 months--I fear for my real life! Trust me, EVE is like nothing you have ever played before. The universe is HUGE, the graphics are INCREDIBLE, and the opportunities for us gamers are virtually LIMITLESS.

But hey, it's your money so I suggest you play it first. Don't let some stupid SWG fanboy troll punk keep you from missing out on what could be the most revolutionary piece of mmorpg software since UO.

Just my opinion.
