The one thing that always bothers me in these 4x games is that ALL the races are basically reskins with some minor differences in tech and art. That's it. It's always pissed me off that no game has come even close to Master of Orion II when it comes to how the different races, think, progress, have different tech, different politics, armies you name it. Even MOO2 was not fully fleshed out in that way but I'm stunned that here we are 25 years later and no 4x game has done it better. No scratch that, no game has come CLOSE to MOO2 let alone gone beyond it with race design and uniqueness.
