sad truth is that I have never played a console game with so many bugs at release.

-Ive played a dozen games now where I am in the spectator list but am able to kill other players.

-Ive played a dozen games where the enemy team is invisible.

-half of the games I join lag out in under a minute

-in two player split screen the gun turrets dont make any noises.

-in four player split screen enemies sometimes become invisible.

I loved Quake 2. I made maps for it. It was awesome. When I play Quake 4, I get shivers because its like playing quake 2 but with psycho hardware and nutso rendering code. Quake 4 is a Quake 2 fans dream. Quake 4 is one of the greatest nonmainstream sequels ever made. It reinvents the original Quake 2 briliantly.

I totally agree ; ) After years of playing games with thumbsticks and being frustrated, I am TOTALLY up for something new.

lol,

some of us have been dreaming of the evolution of the mouse. Analog pads in xboxs and ps2s are cute but terrible compromises for a mouse. Now Nintendo has made a better mouse. Nintendo gave us Dpads (standard on ever single console post nes), Nintendo gave is Analog thumb sticks (standard on every single console post n64), Nintendo gave us the first cart games that were saveable (zelda), Nintendo invented rumble, Nintendo Mastered wireless controllers, Nintendo gave is the gba sp (amazing machine), Nintendo gave us Mario 1, 2 , 3 , 64 the blueprints to gaming. Revolution is not a gimick, its brilliant. So brilliant that they waited till they secured the rights to the technology before they revealed it.

I will say this again, the revolution controller is better than a mouse. Its better and you dont need a desk for it.

nintendo has made a superior input device than the mouse. The negative reaction by some is due to lack of understanding and imagination. The analog stick on current controllers has always been a feeble compromise for a mouse. Im looking forward to the revolution.

Ive known this for awhile

the new nintendo controller is going to be a wifi positional view correction device for 3D games. Sensors placed near the TV will detect the position of the controller in relation to the TV screen, it will then render the 3D environment from that POV. It will be like you are looking into a window. Wherever you stand will determine the angle of view into the screen. People in different positions will see an image that is skewed. Its extremely simple and cheap technology. It will change the way you play games, and it will cause players to be more active, more physically fit. Players will need to move around a room to look into the screen, around its edges.

death watch?

what an ignorant article. Everywhere i go peeps have a DS. Me too. I will open myself up for flames here but, the DS UI for FPS is superior to a mouse. Anything Nintendo ever releases eventually becomes standard for the home market. They are the trend setters. Gamepads, Analog joysticks, rumble functions, tilt input, touchscreen, voice, congo drums, they always do it first and put money down to advance gaming, then fools crap on them. Nintendo cares about games getting better.

"You've got to hand it to Valve for continually supporting the community even with their old games. It seems most devs rarely patch their buggy titles that are still played today by many people. (iD Software games?)"

you mean Doom? quake? Quake 2? Quake 3? um those are not buggy, they are almost perfect programs for their time. I cant think of way to make q1, q2 or q3 crash, without using an map editor to make a map that forces it to crash.

Why has nobody noticed that the leaked xbox controller pics show a mini trackball in the center with two buttons on either side? A trackball on a game controller would make it perfect for fps's.

That was no firefight,

that was a couple a guys in millions of dollars of futuristic wartime hardware annihilating three human beings. I mean the first guy was completely removed from the face of the Earth in an instant. If they had a potential "weapon" the guns of the chopper could have easily annihilated that rather than the human beings. That thing tore through the truck like it was paper and turned the first victim into confetti. Come to think of it, the only thing they destroyed was the people and not the weopons. They shot through a truck just to get the guy. Their intent was to kill and not to defend themselves.
