What do you mean?
EDIT: @ John Nelsen: Yes, we are an official fansite, the first and biggest one currently, in close contact with GSC.

Calm down guys, to tell you the truth, these benchmarks are based on the leaked version. No graphics card can spit out 100s of fps on DX9. Besides, all three levels that were tested are those that the leaked version contains (they just translated them from Russian to English [The editor who wrote these benchmarks seems to be Russian judging from his name]).
The leaked version is dated May 2002 and the game didn't have any DX9 renderer and the engine wasn't optimized for nvidia boards yet. And besides, the game engine isn't even finshed TODAY so it's doubtable that GSC Game World sent out a version to be benchmarked. Those results are just crap.
EDIT: Additionally, it's strange that they're hosting DX 8 pics and claim to have tested the DX 9 engine first. After contacting them they said that they just chose the title "yet another dx9 game". I don't understand what that site is doing.

Please keep in mind that this version of the game is dated May 2002 and is very very old.

Indeed it will be. The developers are actually almost ahead of schedule and they will most probably finish with the development by end of this year. Well, THQ however doesn't want to release it this year. At least we'll get a polished game and GSC has enough time for testing and balancing.

The current release-date of the game is First half of 2004. This is what THQ has planned.

Hi guys.
I'd like to mention one thing. If it'll be convincing for you or not, i leave it up to you:

When I saw the footage of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. from the German Games Convention at Leipzig which took place in August 2002, there were also some Military Stalkers in the early build version of the game. They were supposed to be our enemy. The A.I. was only finished for 4%. But the remarkable thing was that although only 4% had been finished the A.I. reacted pretty fine in contrast to other games. When the player appeared, they'd hide behind bushes and lie down on the ground and shoot while they had taken cover. But that very version didn't contain any gameplay. It was supposed to give you a rough impression of what the graphics will look like (which have improved up to now). So no gameplay was implemented. But still the A.I. was better than other games. If that was 4% then you should imagine what it'll be like when it reaches its 100%.
Another thing that I read here that someone was concerned that the A.I. might be "super-human A.I."
Here is a quote if you didn't read the translation correctly:
"Q11: Everything we have read so far shows that the AI will be truly advanced. Can you give us some real game situations that show off the AI.

A: One of the key features is that NPCs have an idea of where to expect the enemy as opposed to knowing exactly where the enemy is. It would be quite simple to let AI know where the enemy is, but in our opinion, we are taking a more interesting route, where the NPCs are in the same boat at the player. They limited by angle and distance of their vision, they don’t see very well in the dark or they don’t see through the bushes. They hear as much as the player."

I'm open to any questions.

Regards,
HeadHunter
