If it gets delayed too long, it might come out after its first 2 expansions.

Played tonight, and it sure seems like the difficulty has been increased.

Am I crazy, or does $25 for all the Jagged Alliance games still seem pretty high. They are ancient, and from what I've read, the expansions are obscenely difficult.

I have tried everything to get the MP to work in this game. The server browser never finds any games. I've opened the ports listed on ubi's support site, and even tried setting my PC up as the DMZ. No luck.

It's a great game, and well worth $10. I could swear these maps came out a long time ago though.

This is a great game. It gets pretty damn hard though. But that's my problem, not the game.

I thought the PDA itself was hilarious. This is the far future, and the PDA has grown to the size of your forearm!

Funny, opinions like yours seems to be an extreme minority when talking about the Half-Life series. Yet now they seem to be overall what people want?

I don't know, I have trouble getting on-board with a story when I'm supposed to be the main character, yet I say nothing the entire time. If these games want to be movies so bad, why don't they present themselves like movies? Hell, I'm more invested in Marcus Fenix as a character than I am Gordon Freeman; at least I can see what Marcus is doing, saying, and thinking. Gordon is a spectator holding a gun.

I simply do not care about a story in an action game. I don't need to know why I'm blowing something up or wiping out an alien race. Give me guns, things that die, things that catch fire. The end.

Doom 4's formula should be: Crysis graphics + Serious Sam gameplay = SUCCESS

Can someone objectively tell me how many of the 5 x-com games are actually worth playing? Obviously the first game is a gem, but it's not much of a combo pack if it's one good game and 4 you will never touch.

The metacritic score is non-existent for all of them for some reason.

News Comments > New Ghost Recon & Rainbow Six This Year?
17. Re: New Ghost Recon & Rainbow Six This Year? Jan 7, 2009, 16:10 Veinman

Vegas 2 got a "High Stakes" mode patched in that restored a lot of the old style. You could no longer see around corners when in cover and your health did not regenerate. I don't remember what else it changed. Sadly they didn't enable it for Terrorist Hunt.

But the fact that they did that can only be seen as promising, since they'd surely keep that ability in a new game. Hopefully?

They had said that Rainbow would be re-tooled, so I wasn't expecting one this year. But I'm definitely interested.

I played the 360 version at PAX. It was by far the least fun game I checked out. I'm surprised that there even is a pc version, unless they are just spraying wide in hopes of making their money back.

I much prefer Battlefield 1942 over Tribes, any day. I felt it brought a lot more to the table, and was simply more fun.

What makes it so great far as MP goes, compared to say UT, Q1?

It's nothing like those. Think more of a precursor to the Battlefield series. You run around large landscapes, grabbing flags, killing people, etc. You can ski down hills, jetpack, drive vehicles (that control like shit, imo). It can be a lot of fun, but is about as noob-friendly as Counter-Strike.

One thing I left out... you could actually set up defenses in your base. I always found that to be fun.

If they had more power, they'd just fill that up too and still chug. It would just be more awesome chugging.

With an ATi card being optional... I'm guessing the default is onboard video. Yuck.
