Because I wouldn't use Win10 as a primary OS unless its gutted of Microsoft's spyware. If the games are going to require it then it's boot to play and shut down after.

How is Win10 free to register? I see it going for $92 on Amazon. You can run it essentially forever without buying the license without personalization options but I'm not sure about their store.

The only reasonable solution is to buy a cheap SSD solely for Win10 gaming. I wonder if you can buy/play their games from the marketplace without registering the OS.

I disagree. I have no doubt that if it was not episodic there would have been smaller levels, less objectives, and less time overall to make the game what it is today. You would probably be left with a Hitman that had 60% of the current games content at best if it all came out as a single package.

They made mistakes and tried to fix them after the damage was done (always online, online unlocks) which hurt them, but the game that they made was great. Its failure being attributed to the episodic aspect is unfortunate because we might not see that format again.

What about Shroud of the Avatar. They raised 10 million for some shitty alpha MMO and they are apparently starting a phase 2 kickstarter to keep the funds rolling in.

Most of the Vive exclusive titles utilize room scale and the tracked controllers. Until touch comes out for Oculus they cannot support this.

You can't change the settings in Horizon to match the sim aspects of standard Forza. Even with full sim settings in Horizon its still an arcade game. I actually can't use my wheel in Horizon, its made by the same studio but the way it controls is so bad I have to switch to controller.

I'd say there's about a 75% chance if I use a terminal, I'll get stuck to it. I understand that's common enough to cast some serious doubt over their QA effort.

Disabling clipping between Dogmeat and the player would save some annoying and unnecessary deaths as well.

This is a framerate bug, limit your frames to 60 to fix it.

Why doesn't Bethesda just release some actual in game photos with UI and videos of gameplay. They seem to have something to hide with this game and these photos show why.

This will take some UI overhauling and high resolution character mods from the community to fix - I bet the long distance detail is terrible as well.

I wonder sometimes if Bethesda plays the mods people make and think to include some of that detail and popular style (SkyUI) in their games as options if your computer can handle it. Or do they just do the bare minimum for consoles and let the PC folks sort it out...

Dying Light 2 may be too ambitious for PS4 & Xbox One.

Wow, so it hasn't even been two years yet, but next gen consoles are already becoming last gen.

There's hope in this headline. It could mean that DL2 might be a PC exclusive.

More likely they will scrap all those ideas and bring it down to a homogonized console appropriate level with smaller levels, simpler geometry and less tech features all around. Out of the two choices guess which one is more likely.

Apparently they downgraded the graphics from the original E3 showing. The speculation is that once they discovered the hardware limitations of PS4/Xbone they were forced to downgrade the complexity of the games environments and effects. This shouldn't affect the PC textures though - I would still expect high resolutions there.

I can't even play this game, I bought just BF4 and whenever I tell it to join a match it pops up messages telling my to buy the DLC's. It seems that 90% of the matches require some DLC to join and they make sure I know that by wasting my time until I relent and pay them. That and trying to match up with a friend of mine is a pain in the ass through Origin. I just gave up trying and moved on to other games.

Skyrims rating on Steam has dropped from 98% to 87% over the last few days and continues to get lower. It will be interesting to see if it falls into the 70% range because of this - surely not going to hurt sales much especially this late in the game, but its good to see a direct representation of how many fans loathe this decision to steer other developers and steam in general away from this.

Cutters issues sound exactly like the reason I stopped playing X once I figured out everything was more or less static and respawned by the "GOD" concept in the game. They tried to fix this with mods and AP, but the game was designed from the core up as a fake sandbox so it was just a bandaid. It is also the reason I have not bought this game.

Any offline experience would be fundamentally empty. We could write a separate mission system to allow a limited series of fixed missions, but that would still not be a compelling game, and is just the first step in the mountain of work that would be required.

That's what I thought, making a real story with interesting missions would take a lot of work that they don't want to create. Don't expect an engaging storyline in this game, its going to be "player created".

It's meant to mirror the real Universe and it does it amazingly well.
Also PG doesn't mean random. Also it has more than enough content for release.

But let's say it didn't, how would they hide it with multiplayer?
You make zero sense.

They hide it with multiplayer by having you interact with other players who will claim certain areas of the universe and create clans which can engage in conflicts. Add a few overreaching features that tie it together and you have an infinite amount of free content. There is nothing wrong with this of course, but if you focus on this it means you don't focus on a single player element that requires more time and effort to flesh out.

As for PG not meaning random - again I've heard this before with games in the past and while on paper it doesn't, in application you get a lifeless universe filled with template stations with pre-staged defend/attack quests and little to no actual content.

Mirroring the universe sounds great and all - if you plan on spending 5 lifetimes exploring a gameworld. I was hoping for a more concise and reasonable amount of content that a development team can actually produce, this is more of a pretty sounding line to add to the feature list while it detracts from the actual experience by spreading their work thin.

From what I have seen this game is going to have very little actual content in terms of story/quests/characters and RPG development. You will explore a randomly generated (procedural nonsense) universe of emptiness. Having it multiplayer only allows them to hide this fact and this doesn't surprise me.

I never understood why people think an infinite number of star systems is a good thing - it's like Daggerfall's claim that their game world is half as big as the landmass of the UK. Real good that does me when its filled with randomly generated fluff.
