Congress is itself a group of drooling retards and we're supposed to be surprised when they appoint an idiot to be in charge of... well, anything? One philosophy fits all here: "No matter what it is, if the government is involved, it's going to be based on mind-numbing stupidity and absolute ignorance." That's all you need to know. Ever.

Two, game companies routinely demand voice-destroying audio from these people. When your career is based around the functionality of one part of your body, and someone asks you to "dig deeper, we need to feel your anguish, and we need 5 hours of it so the sound effects don't seem repeated" can do serious damage to your vocal cords, and that shit can be permanent. Insisting on a form of hazard pay for those roles is legitimate.

That's a complete load of bullshit. How many actors do you know that had to quit making movies because of "serious damage" to their vocal cords?? Actors in TV and film will do THOUSANDS of hours of dialog far above and beyond the call of the few and far between video games that they perform in, but I've yet to hear any tragic stories about how they have to skip taping an episode of a show or stop the filming of a major motion picture because of such "damage". And what about the countless hours of concerts and recording studio time that today's musical entertainers endure? Keep in mind that singing is FAR more strenuous that talking, and yet I've never heard of any pop singer suddenly going into retirement because their voice was "seriously damaged." You obviously don't have a clear grasp of just how durable and resilient the human body is. Instead, you'd rather use your ignorance to make a point towards giving overpaid actors more money for no real reason. Hazard pay?? How fucking dare you.

See, this is why there's no freedom in this country anymore. The constitution provides you with many rights to live how you want and even say what you believe, but your fellow man... society at large... is now the oppressor and censor. The bully, in fact. But, that's what happens when we're lead by liberal fucktards hell bent on bullshit hypocritical policies of so-called "tolerance", although they are completely INtolerant of anyone with views or opinions that differ from their own.

I'm still using my Note 7 simply because I think the odds are too great to worry about it. I turn it off at night before going to bed and only charge it to 60%, which still lasts all day. I'll be trading my *potentially* defective Note 7 in for a new Note 7 as soon as my carrier has them available because it is still a fantastic device. Fuck iPhone and Apple's continuous stream of pissing-in-your-face mediocrity. An iPhone is an iPhone is an iPhone. Personally, I think the whole Note 7 thing is being blown WAY too far out of proportion, but the ball is already rolling, so all I can do is stand by and watch.

I haven't laid a hand on a printed book, magazine, or newspaper in over 10 years, at least. I've read more books on my Kindle in the last 5 years than I've ever owned on paper in the 40 years prior to that. (A few hundred, at least.) "Most" people prefer books? Yeah, and "most" people are idiots too.

I was just talking to a friend about this game right after the Gamescom footage hit Youtube. I told him, "They say late 2016 for a release, but I'm betting a million bucks that they announce a delay in the next 3 or 4 weeks. You can easily see by watching the video that there's NO WAY this game is anywhere near ready for release this year."

Called it.

I played the Mass Effect series and I don't know why anyone would want them remastered anyway. I didn't think they were all that great in the first place as far as gameplay was concerned, and there are plenty of much earlier classic games that deserve a remaster (or remake) far more than Mass Effect.

I was using a Core 2-based PC at my office for network admin work until just 2 weeks ago. Honestly, the only thing the Core 2 machine suffered from was only having 4 GB of RAM. Now I have a Core i3 and 8 GB.

This is awesome news, not only from a game play standpoint (I do play ATS), but just for the fact that SCS Software is actively listening to the players and willing to make big changes to improve the game.

Gun control? Oh, you mean like that "drug control" they have had around for years? Yeah, that's been great. Haven't heard of anyone getting any illegal drugs for like, what... decades now, right? When the government passes laws, everyone obeys them without question or exception, so I'm sure all the criminals out there are going to say, "Well, so much for that. Guess I'll go find a real job now."

Please, PLEASE pass more gun control laws, because I'm very excited to see the looks on your stupid fucking faces when you discover that it won't change a fucking thing, except making the problem worse. You think illegal arms dealers in the US are in demand now? You just wait. You haven't anything yet. The next civil war IS coming, and the government is going to lose.

News Comments > No Man's Sky Delay Confirmed
23. Re: No Man's Sky Delay Confirmed May 29, 2016, 10:22 Porn-O-Matic
So, Minecraft has no game play then? You have seen the sales numbers for that game, right? You've heard of it, right? Thankfully, YOUR idea (opinion) of "game play" is not the same as everyone else's. Why would anyone say that "procedurally generated" implies lack of game play as if it were some kind of fact? LOL!

NMS, just like Minecraft, is about creating your OWN game play with the elements provided, rather than the typical game play mechanics of other games that rely mostly on pre-scripted events and a mostly linear story. The beauty of NMS is that it doesn't fit the typical game play "mold", and it shouldn't. After 35 years of being a gamer, I'm growing weary of the same old games being remade over and over and over again and I embrace any game that gives me an open world or universe that allows me to create a gaming experience as I see fit, rather than play yet another game that herds me down a mostly predefined path that I ultimately have little or no effect on. Even games like the Far Cry series, despite having an "open world" are still constrained by a series of story missions that have to be completed in the same sequence every time you play it.

There are "gamers" in this world that if given a blank piece of paper and told to create a drawing of something, they'd sit there staring at it like a mindless sheep, and wouldn't have any clue what to do unless someone was there to tell them exactly where to make the marks. Those are the people who are incapable of grasping what a game like No Man's Sky has to offer because they can't play a game unless something is there to hold their hand, and to tell them what their objective is, where to go to complete it, how to get there, and when to shoot. They like to THINK they are "playing" the game, but really they're just following instructions while having every little thing spoon-fed to them.

Procedurally generated game play IS a thing, and it's going to become an even BIGGER thing in the future. Some people simply don't have the level of creativity and open-mindedness to understand and appreciate a game like No Man's Sky, but fortunately, their misguided opinions will be ignored by those who do.

Bub wrote on May 29, 2016, 07:31:
Using the con "proceduraly generated" as centerpiece for selling the game is a tip off that one - they don't have any real game play to offer, and two - they are looking make what they can off initial AAA full price sales before the word on the street gets out on just how little game play there is.

That and all the planets spammed with four letter names.

Procedurally generated is like playing the card game solitaire. After shuffling, the order the cards come out different every time, but there are no surprises, in that you know each card when you see it.

Not saying the sequels will be good, but I really enjoyed Avatar. Saw it 4 times in IMAX 3D and once more when the extended version was released in IMAX 3D, so I'm excited to see what the sequels will bring.

This game has always looked boring as fuck. I have never understood the fanboy handjobbing it has received.

That's the nice thing about opinions, I guess. If you've "always" thought this game has looked boring, why the fuck are you here? Why would another headline about this game interest you one bit?

As long as we're being opinionated, I think pretty much every multiplayer shooter ever made looks boring as fuck. Every RTS ever made looks boring as fuck. (Actually, I've played many of both kinds and they are, in fact, boring as fuck.) Every sidescrolling platformer... boring as fuck. Whatever. But that's MY opinion and nobody else has to give a shit.

THIS game, on the other hand, in MY opinion, looks incredibly interesting and exciting... to ME. It matches very closely the kind of game I have had in mind whenever I've thought about what kind of space exploration game I would want if I could make it myself. This, right here. And I'll be taking the week off work to play it.

The difference between the NVIDIA and AMD is a paltry 3 fps. I'm a die-hard NVIDIA owner, but even I have to say that a 3 fps difference in early benchmarks does NOT make a news story by any stretch of the imagination. #graspingatstraws

I've been a PC gamer going on 25+ years now... how exactly is it "broken" as a gaming platform? I don't have any "software incompatibilities", nor do I have problems with device drivers. I run my PC 24/7/365 with virtually ZERO problems day in and day out. What the fuck are they even talking about? Seriously.
