There is a single player element but the game will be enhanced by playing on the MM worlds. Trading between players for resources will add a fantastic girth of possibilities as your location on the planet determines what resources you ultimately begin with, and continue to develop during city building. Unfortunately, the beta was pretty limited in what was available for trading and how it worked. They apparently overhauled it since, but I didn't return for the update since it ran so poorly on my machine. It had no multiprocessor support.

OH and there is NO public transportation in the box release. Wait for a patch for that one. Whose idea was that one??

One of my favorite games, easily. I'm interested in more if they had the same pacing and feel as the first!

No zones. No power grid. No micromangement? I won't be buying it. And I have a feeling that many many *many* SimCity fans will not either.

That's not what *everybody* wants. I would have liked to have seen an expansion on the StarCraft universe and not just the same rehashed material with newer graphics.

I wrote my loved one a poem, and give it to her in pieces throughout the week. The only problem is, she's involved with someone else, someone who doens't treat her the way she should be treated. Even she agrees. But i'm just "a friend".:( The poem was "sweet" but it didn't get the response I was hoping for.

Did you check that the motherboard supports the 4x/8x speeds the card demands? I might be wrong, but don't all the 9800's require a 4xAGP slot?

Yeah a 290MB file at .6KB/s just doens't cut it. I'm not a Star Wars fan, but I'll try it.

I like the new design. Something needs to be in the upper right though, whether it's popular threads or .plans, I don't care. If you remove the ad banner and the huge UGO ads through something like the Proximitron, the site is very attractive.

I wish Rush Hour was available to us who shelled out the huge $40 pricetag for a buggy, inferior, product in the first place. I love the game, don't get me wrong, but it needs Rush Hour to feel like Simcity4, and not just another Simcity graphical update.

There is much discussion at www.simcity.com 's forums regarding the 3rd photo being a fake. And since there is no official release statement on the Simcity official page, people are skeptical about the whole project.

I have to put my pessimistic foot down too. There are few good FPS's that have come out recently. It seems that the deathmatchers receive the biggest publicity (Quake3, UT, UT2k3) and the single player games don't get the support for post-solve replay value.

I uninstalled Unreal-II due to lack of fun (and framerates). The linearlity of the games is horrible these days. I understand, it's not easy to build a multiending FPS...but prescripted "oh no the monster will jump out from behind this corner AGAIN" leads me to selling the games after beating them, not replaying them.

I wish for more replay value from my shooters. Half Life 2 will hopefully either be
a.) Longer than the 10 hours which almost every linear fps has given us in the past 2 years
b.) Random monster spawn points so that the game feels different each time I play it

And redneck Rampage II would be amazing no matter what

From what I've seen, there are no bots and I would like to know why? Some of us HATE the online world due to cheaters, whiners, immature players, and unmoderated servers and would enjoy rather a fragfest with artificial players, as they (hardly) ever yell back. UT2003's bots are decent enough and provide hours of entertainment at a stretch, something I hardly get from playing online.

Why no bots??

I uninstalled Unreal II, btw, and had my roommate return it to EB and trade it in. It was practically unplayable at any decent framerates. Looking at walls wouldn't peak more than 36fps (2Ghz, GF3) and that's just wrong. The game was boring, slow, and uneventful as well.
