I would have visited the site but it wouldn't allow me to access it with Firefox 0.8 stating it requires IE 5.0 or higher.

i have IE so I checked it out regardless to see what was in there that needed IE...and the site shouldn't require IE at all...

The architecture looks pretty plain as well, texture and design-wise so far.

The skins are too bright and perfect to be final so I'll hold judgement for a little later.

How about a screen that shows you as the player and not a spectator shot?

RE4 look amazing. I hope it comes out this year so I can dust off my GC and put a solid game in there that wasn't made by Nintendo.

All this talk is making me want to pick up Tribes 2 (passed it by becasue of the bugs) to get back in the mood for T:V. I can't wait as long as they don't pull a DX:IW with it...which they wont.

I'm looking forward to Crashday quite a bit to give me my racing fix.

On HL2 - Modders are going to benefit the most from reading this. The general gaming population could care less about entities and 3d sky boxes. The technology is quite remarkable though.

Virtual On? yea that was fun too.

I tested this game a few months back and it was pretty fun the computer controlled bots actually put up a decent fight but I would have liked them to have been more agresive (could have been changed)

I'll be keeping an eye on this one

I didn't have any problems with running the game except it had a problem with me runing winamp while playing and made it choppyier than it should have been. Now only if I could read russion I would be set. This game looks interesting to say the least.

All 3 makers are pushing to release their new systems in late 2004, 2005-2006 range. Nintendo was just first to set in stone when they are showing it off.

Xbox2 is coming soon with an ATi graphics core and an IBM processor

PS3 has been in dev for years and is using some funky cell tech that I haven't heard much from lately.

I have a gc and Xbox and I haven't been happier. The only games I missed on the PS2 were some RPGs I really liked but I can live without.

GC has great gameplay. you honestly can't find better gameplay on any system than a nintendo system.

Xbox has amazingly fun online games and they almost always look the best. It has some very unique games that set it apart like SW:KOTOR, Halo(yea yea I know), Project Gotham, Jet Grind Radio Future. Also a lot of lame me too games and craptacular fighters.

PS2 - definition of sequelitis. So many sequels of PS1 titles and not enough fresh content for me to keep me from buying it.

Serious Sam is good mindless fun and not many ripoffs have spawned...well Will Rock and Painkiller but not many.

I have just recently gotten back into the DX realm and Warren makes a lot of solid points, I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the interview and DX:IW.

Also Nitro Family (due X-mas 2003) is SE tech and a few other games have been spawned from the engine...one has 3000AD in the name i know that and the other is Alpha black zero (which is looking quite nice btw)

Now I just wonder if I'll be in the credits again in SS2...hmm
*edit*
Damn Rodzilla beat me to it, oh well

The FSAA will give errors on Direct X9 cards like the radeon 9XXX series (which does have a work around btw) and the latest Nvidia 5XXX series which has no work around. It is part of an error in the direct X9 coding.

So if you have an older card like the Geforce 4400 you should still be able to use FSAA if you want to

It is going to need a lot of work to be able to compete with the big action/rpg coming soon Dungeon Siege 2.

Etrom's animations are jerky and the graphics will need a lot more work to be able to compete, i'll have to keep an eye on this though.

Combat looks to be a little different, to be able to switch from melee to ranged to spells on the fly may prove to be interesting if used right.

This could mean more freedom to other artists and designers still with Blizzard so they aren't just making sequels to their established series'.

Or it could end up dead in the water, only time will tell
