Aliens isn't a very good setting for an RPG. Unless this is going to be some kind of action-RPG like System Shock?

I can see where this is going. The game will be perfectly balanced when all the guns cost the same and do the same damage. Perfect balance.

Why go through all this trouble? I've got an easier solution. Have just one gun. Perfect Balance.

It's ironic that Valve is screwing up the gameplay that originally made CS interesting by dumbing down the guns like this. The whole point was that some guns were better than others in certain situations and for certain styles of play.

But, if you get into the "realism" of CS it starts to break down completely anyway. Realism is that any one of those assault rifles in the game would kill you in one burst at close quarters or with one headshot. You don't need a sniper rifle to snipe at those ranges.

The best evidence of this is Iraq. Iraqi snipers use modded AK-47s called Tabuks or something, and a few rarely have Dragunovs (LOL, I guess they have to buy their own just like CS terrorists do?). Yet they are penetrating through helmets and body armor at 200m.

Back to the point, why make all the weapons in CS so similar? They're not supposed to be. A DE should be difficult to aim and do more damage, but a P228 should be extremely accurate at close ranges, more so than trying to swing and aim an M4 to fire a single shot.

Who cares? Video game competitions are pointless geek-fests.

Who you calling a pointless geek?

The IRS is an illegal, unconstitutional entity and must be shut down, by force if necessary. Federal taxes are unconstitutional.

CSI is too gruesome? I think Spielberg needs to get outside more often. Like to a ghetto--or maybe Iraq. And take Lucas with you.

Why do they jail this guy for a porn site when they have brothels all over the place in China? I guess they think a brothel is "traditional" and online porn is some kind of evil capitalist trick.

"Hey you kids, when you want happy ending, you no go to internet, you go to traditional whore house! Like where your mother work! Internet no good! Anyway, you too young, what 6 year old kid doing watching porn website!? You need go work! How you expect to pay your tuition?"

Hmm, actually, I was never excited about either of the Halo games to begin with.

I feel the same way about Gears of War. I don't see what all the hype is about besides the first example of a new generation of graphics; which is the U3 engine and will have many more PC games made with it anyway. The gameplay looked conventional and fairly boring.

PRISM is an acronym for the Preemptive Reconnaissance and Identification Security Mainframe, a new computer system that the government is using to wirelessly hack into video surveillance equipment across America.

The people who find this amusing probably liked that Eternal Damnation: Left Behind Fundamentalist Morons game too. Unbelievable. Who funded this?

Here's my plot for a National Guard game:

Halliburton ***-rapes American taxpayers and you, a Republican assassin, sort of like Sam Fisher, have to go assassinate all those that refuse to pay. In between each mission there is a segment where you sacrifice babies to Satan with Dick Cheney, dressed like a Thuggee, serving as head priest.

Anyone notice that NWN2 has a "Neverwinter Nine" and now Oblivion has a Knights of the Nine?

If you're interested in Kursk, I suggest you find a copy of "Images of Kursk: History's Greatest Tank Battle, July 1943" by Nikolas Cornish.

You can still find it on eMule, along with many other WW2 books, if you are too cheap to buy it.

Also, don't forget that it was during Kursk that those infamous suicide "antitank dogs" were used. Small dogs with trip-wired bombs strapped to their backs that were trained to run under tanks (looking for food). The bomb would then go off and blow up the tank.

If you played CoH, you might also know about the German equivalent: the Goliath. The world's first combat "robot"?

Ofcourse it's bad! It has been proven time and again that when people can afford it, they buy the real thing, not something pirated or counterfeit.

Copy protection and DRM are a useless nuisance for everyone, including the devs who have to support it. Look at some game forums and see how many people can't even install a game because of the protection, or need replacements because a disc goes bad.

Ok, well this is kind of like preaching to the choir discussing it here, but hopefully publishers and the MAFIAA will finally get it.

I don't care if it makes me look like Marvin the depressed, paranoid android (from the not-so-good HGG movie, not the rather good series), I would gladly wear this helmet if it was a true VR helmet. Imagine the porn you could watch on that?

Ofcourse, I really want this helmet for the games. I wonder about the hygiene issues though? That helmet would probably get pretty stuffy after a while? It would need some kind of ventilation system.

It's not trying to replicate what works on the mouse, but trying to give you that same sense of fine control when you're targeting, and so that was really one of the foundation elements."

I think I'll stick with using a mouse. I don't know what kind of monkey business this guy is up to, but I don't want any part of it.

Every day I thank God I didn't buy this game.

By "God," I mean Cthulhu.

Thank you, Cthulhu. I hope you soon rise from the depths and swallow EA. Or at least take a colossal dump on them.
