Do Uwe Boll movies actually make any $$$? They must be big in Turkey or something.

Basically we wanted to get the audience in that Police Academy frame of mind, show' em some comedy and some naked girls...then have zombies turn up and ruin everything!"

I had an idea like that once while taking a dump.

Why do I get the impressions that Elevation is trying to turn themselves into another EA by just buying up all the good and successful developers? There's going to be no fully independent ones left at this rate.

We're just seeing exactly the same thing that happened with the movie industry. Big studios sign up all the talent with exclusive contracts, then the big studios control what gets made and what doesn't. More importantly, they get all the power, and the talent is enslaved:

"You can either make our piece of crap, or you can go away. Which will it be?" - typical publisher.

Bah. Stop whining because your game didn't sell. I didn't buy B&W2 and Fable because they both had gimmicky gameplay that wasn't very captivating. It has nothing to do with the level of violence. FYI I don't play those gangsta games with the violence and sex patches and I don't give a damn what's trendy in the console world.

Same goes for Deux Ex 2. When that came out, everyone thought "WTF!" You dumbed that game down for consoles, Warren Spector! It was your design decision, was it not? Or did Eidos make your turn that game stupid?

I'd rather it be released in 2020 than be another half-finished buggy piece of crap that you complete in under ten hours and forget afterwards like so many games today.

I am pretty sure a comma was needed in that sentence.

Edit: And yes, I realize that air superiority is pretty much like this in real life -- but this is a game.

It is realistic to have nearly unkillable planes, but the amount of planes could be reduced. One plane per side is something like what an average platoon should expect for close air support in real life and I think it would make the game MORE fun for the MAJORITY of players. The respawning time of planes could be increased as an alternative as well. But DICE decides to do nothing instead.

The most laughable thing about this game though is still how underpowered the AA and APC guns are. A single 20-30mm round should rip you in half, yet in BF2 soldiers magically survive multiple hits, which would normally leave nothing left of the target.

Take a look at the infamous Apache video from Iraq, where they slaughter some Iraqis with an AH-64's cannon to see what damage these weapons really cause outside of BF2 fantasyland.

Paperman is a 3D FPS where everyone is made out of 2D paper!

I would prefer that they were made out of bacon.

The money-machine rolls on, and nerds everywhere become slightly more pasty-faced and anti-social.

Who do you think the people making these games are? They are merely successful antisocial, pasty-faced nerds. Successful because they get paid for it, yet they still spend 12 hours a day in front of the computer.

Let's just say, out of respect to the great Peter Jackson, this isn't in my top 10 list of games to play in the near future. I mean, I could have said something much worse about this game. I hope the movie isn't as disappointing.

A better question is, if it is MOUT, then will they include civilians for collateral damage and torture purposes?

Oh well, the press for the most part is biased and corrupt anyway. At least when hearing the story from a thousand different sources it is possible to get a better understanding of it.

What we SHOULD worry about is if a corporation like Google or Microsoft starts to edit that news or filter it, or we are somehow denied access to certain information. I doubt that will be possible, because there will always be competition outside the US that won't have the same bias.

As for any privacy concerns, there are numerous ways to avoid being tracked which I won't go into. At the very least, you don't have to buy anything from Amazon. ;^)

Does this mean EA will no longer release bug-infested patches for BF2?
