forget, did they ever justify how a Dade county detective was able to afford a Ferrari Testarossa (retailed for something like $100,000 in 1982) and Armani casual wear on a detectives salary?

You dare ask the question of the 80s that are best left unanswered?

How'd the General Lee survive those jumps?
How'd the Cosby's keep their house so clean even though both parents worked and you never saw a maid?
How did Crockett afford all that stuff? And why did stars want to BE on that show?
Why did Coach have to die so early during Cheers run?

You can't handle the truth!!

NoGod,

Win2k is more than a replacement for NT. Not only does it support plug and play and any new versions of DirectX, but it gives home users a much more stable disk system in NTFS which is miles ahead of FAT32, IMHO.

Sounds like id isn't exactly the happiest place to be working

I've noticed from my life that programmers and administrators are not the happiest group of people as it is. I'm sure working under a massive deadline and trying to meet the expectations of the gaming public as well as working 14+ hours per day does not make id the most politcally correct happy happy joy joy place to work.

But the trade off is probably well above the average pay and putting "I worked at id" on your resume opens quite a few doors. Those that have left id certainly aren't hurting.

Naturally it's good to see those who've worked at id for so long be given the appropriate props but the fact remains that if The Carmack leaves in a rocket ship for Cygnus X-1 or whatever the company would have diddly divided by squat.

If what that woman says about the lottery ticket is true

I just can't buy it. Now she'll sue for part of the cash though she has no way to prove most of it (she knew the numbers or something, big deal!) and will probably get part of it.

My character is a laser welding torch with dual light sabers and some "kill" force powers. The delicious sound of strangling some nancy boy Republic soldier just warms my cold black heart.

Blue needs a TiVO or some other form of recorder. I don't even have the premium cable channels so watching all these shows is not possible. Thank goodness for online gaming to wallow away my existence.

Homeworld 2 is a terrible letdown

How so? I personally had a lot of fun with it due to the good storyline, the difficult (not overly difficult though) missions (which have now been dumbed down due to whiners), and the excellent graphics. The only complaint I do have with it is that once you completed the objectives the game automatically kicked you out of the missions rather than let you finish resource gathering.

However, didn't it piss anyone off that you just ran up the hill with no gun?? I don't understand that one at all. I felt like a real schmuck.

Because that's how it happened mostly. There weren't enough rifles to go around for the Russians so some people shot while others were cannon fodder.

You make a good point and it was not my intention to deride tAE and his website. I'm a big fan of Gracelessland. As for the Michael Jackson revelation, it just goes to show that the most obvious answer is so often right in front of our hideously reconstructed and bleached out faces.

I have absolutely no interest in overclocking or tweaking but still I love articles like this. Now all I have to do is get ahold of some liquid N2 and maybe I can finally play Deus Ex 2!

I'm wondering what the point of the article was though since they didn't even run some timedemos on Quake3 or Wolfenstein. Come on Tom's people. Unlock that /com_maxfps and let's what that machine can do! Dump some N2 on the vid card and let 'er rip.

The problem, I am trying to leave Dantoonie, I have completed all quest, got the maps and got the go ahead from the Jedi council. I go to the cockpit of my ship, go to the galaxy map, but I can not select any planet other then Dantoonie! I am stuck. WTF do I gotta do?

You might check www.gamebanshee.net and see if their walk through can provide any insights? Maybe you think you did everything but really haven't?
