ummm.. Braves 3, Mets 2?

I normally don't give scores as I'd hope the overall tone of the review would say whether I thought the game was worth a purchase or not.

In this case, I'd suggest buying it if you're a fan of twitch gaming (which I am). I know that doesn't appeal to some people. I give those people a cute nickname. That nickname is "wrong"

I have a buddy who's just incredible at this game. I don't see how he and my other friends play this so well. I get to about the Enlightment Age and it gets to be overwhelming having to keep track of everything.

Things really go to hell for me when nukes start getting tossed.

When will they have a game that pits Vampires agianst Neo Nazis in modern citys? It would sell a bundle!

I'm interested in what you have to say and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Y'know, you read an article and see this:

Painkiller's theme is simple: "Shoot everything that moves."

And you realize it doesn't get much better than that sometimes for a game. It'd only be even better if it said, "Shoot every Nazi that moves."

There are some WWI era looking skeletons running around throwing mustard gas cannisters as well. I just assume they work for the German Kaiser, which is pretty close. Or they're from IronStorm which means they need to be sent to hell in a hurry as that game still is the worst game ever.

Yes, I'm the stereotypical twitch fest enthusasist.

Ray, you're absolutely right. While it's not as furious a pace as SS, it's awfully close but it's hard for me to say exactly how close since I'm only used to playing SS in Co-Op LAN beer swilling mode. Which means I don't recall SS that much but what I do remember I enjoyed.

Now, PK does try to challenge the player by making all the power ups (tarot cards) available only if you finish the map a certain way. For example, find all the armor, or don't use armor, or only use one weapon. It's worth challenging oneself to accomplish those goals since the power ups definitely help later in the game.

As for the rest of the debate here: Hey, to each his own.

Picked it up Saturday at EB. Having a great load of fun with it. It is more on the Serious Sam side of things, but how is that bad? I don't know. 300+ bad guys in one level is always welcome. This game needs co-op in the worst way.

I'm amazed at how smooth it runs and the size of some of the levels.

Color me stupid then. Punkbuster's been asked for since the early patches and I'll hold (curb?) my enthusasim until the patch is released.

That's very disappointing if the game doesn't work straight out the box since it will turn away casual gamers who might not be as computer saavy as most of the folks here.

I had LASIK done about a year ago and I love not having to worry about contacts or glasses anymore.

Blue, there's a few very reputable doctors here in the Dallas area who have been doing Lasik since it first hit the scene back in the late 80s. Do a search on the Web for Dr. Tylock or Dr. Booth. I used Dr. Tylock.

Personally, my site was the -6 or -7 range for near sightedness and I had astigmatism. All of it's gone and I have absolutely zero regrets or qualms about recommending it to others. The whole procedure of lying on the bench and getting zapped took no more than a few minutes but you have to take extra special care of your eyes for a few days before and after the procedure. Plus they give you a valium befor the procedure which is sweeeeeeet!

As for the billboard ads, those are complete hogwash and those advertised prices are for people who have little to no need for visual correction.

And in case you were wondering, yeah I'll tell you the cost. About $3000 to correct my vision but of course it costs a more if your vision is worse and less if your vision is better. They do offer financing as well so it doesn't destroy your wallet too bad I suppose.

Worth every penny though note that it will not fix your vision forever and ever. Standard age and wear/tear will still impact your vision as you get older.

not ALL solders were part of the nazi party, please get it straight, do some research. the wermacht (Army) were not nazis.

If they have a swatiska and are on my computer screen, they die. If they are near buildings with flags that have swatiskas on them. They die. If they have grey uniforms on and carry an MP40, they die. I like my Nazis of the b-movie variety. In other words vile, sinister, and talking bad German-English. Whether they swore an oath of allegiance to the Nazi party or not is irrelevant.

Just in case he, and everyone else, didn't know: Deep Space Nine has finally been syndicated on a cable channel. Spike TV's running a marathon all week where you can watch the Ds9 series from noon to nine pm (eastern).

I believe Blue was one of the enlightened ones who rightfully thought Ds9 was the best of the Trek series to date.

I think a good injection of all out mayhem like Serious Sam is good every once in a while but I don't think it should be done by every first person shooter from here on out. I need th variety to hold my interest and something like Serious Sam also makes for a fun LAN where massive quantities of beer must be ingested.

It's hard to do that when playing an RTS or a more tactical shooter like Rainbow Six. With a game like SS though if you're buzzing, drunk, or whatever, it doesn't really matter since you have infinite respawns and plenty of ammo

I saw the name of the game and thought, "We're in a sick world if there's a game made for watching celebrities on the toilet." Then I realized I mis-spelled the game's name. d'oh
