Watch it turn out to be Wolfenstein Enemy Territory revamped and reskinned, mostly for console gamers.

That was the Wolfenstein game from two years ago. It's understandable if you forgot about it though either through the passage of time or suppressing the terrible memory of the awful multiplayer in that game.

Please tell me you are not serious. TFC/TF2 are nothing like Enemy Territory, I even dare say that ET was rather unique in its gameplay, not only concerning how the maps were designed and how the game mechanics worked but that every map had some background i.e. a small story behind it.
Team Fortress on the other hand never seemed very interesting to me.

From the simple fact about how many hours I sunk into Enemy Territory and TF2 they are exactly the same. So many, many hours wasted

Plus, some of the game mechanics were pretty similar but that comes with the whole team shooter territory I suppose.

That was TF2.

First real exposure to a clear and obvious cheat occurred a few nights ago. Someone shot and killed me with their gun while I was in a tank. Then he shot my friend who was driving an APC.

I still don't understand the fascination with TF2. Was better when it wasn't an RPG with hats.

Ppptthh.. I could murder anyone with a flamethrower. Hell I could train my 3 year old nephew to do that. It takes style to murder them with a flamethrower while wearing a sombrero, monocle, and a Southern Gentlemen's beard. Don't hate me cause I'm stylin'.

Obviously you're right, it wasn't released this year but I was still playing it A LOT since I couldn't afford a lot of games to play so I have to work with what I got.

Of those games I reviewed I think I paid full $50-$60 price for maybe three of them. The rest were Steam sales this month or gifts from friends.

Now if you want to underwrite my game playing so I always have the freshest games on my reviews and lists I will GLADLY take your cash.

Sphinx has a decent list, although I wouldn't have TF2 in there at all....it has been out for a few years, and recently just went F2P.

All the MORE reason to have it on there. With the monetary price point being a big fat zero to get started, the only variable cost to letting me and anyone else accumulate many more stylish hats is murdering other gamers. That's something most of us would gladly pay to do in any other game since most gamers -- including us here -- are jerks.

And Valve takes it one step further by giving us stylish headgear to prance around in while unleashing rockets and bullets.

What did BF3 give me, a new type of LMG or camo gear? Big woop. Give me a Kaiser Pickelhaube DICE and then I might get a bit more excited about your field of battle thing.

I didn't get a chance to play it, sorry. I have to ration my budget for games nowadays and so I had to save up my pennies for Arkham City and some of the other games listed there. I keep trying to solicit free games and sell out like the cheap game hussy that I am to these game developers but no takers.

If I could back and change things I would not have bought Brink and probably would have tried DX instead. I'm a terrible person though and never even played Deus Ex when it came out in 2000. I think I was consumed with Quake 3 or Serious Sam co-op around that time.

Portal 2 for $7, then Shogun 2 for $10, and finally RAGE for $15. Not a bad bit of bargain grabbing for me.

Portal 2 is worth the full price but I think the $15 price point for RAGE is just right.

What about Germany vs France?

Twats!

Squad based VOIP would really enhance things.

So frustrating when you are one seat in a tank and can see a threat but can't speak to the guy in the other seat without typing!

Exactly. I recall that in BF2 you could setup a non-ranked server and then the VoIP was a separate program that you could run either on the same server or on a different one. I would imagine the ranked servers worked similar.

Don't see why this couldn't be done with this game as well despite their "business sense" argument.

I find it amusing that some of the most ferocious fighting I encounter is on a server called "Noobs in Dallas." Reminds me a Chris Rock joke about how if your town has a Martin Luther King, Jr. street, that's almost always the most crime ridden area in your city.

They should rename it "Batman: Punch Thugs in the Face." I'd gladly pay full price for that too.

I'm just saying it's pretty rewarding when those guys show up in body armor so you get to do the "beatdown" combo. Especially after a bad day at work.
