The problem with things like this is that there is nothing stopping trolls from mass adding everyone in sight to the shared bans list. Or at least everyone they just feel like messing with.

I guaranty you that some will.

So, is Totalgames related to Trygames/Trymedia ? The problem with Trygames/Trymedia is that patches won't work with the online distro versions. They claim that they make their own versions of patches which will work with the online distros but this is rarely if ever the case.

Do future patches work with Totalgaming's versions ? If not, does Totalgaming adapt their own ?

Another problem with Trygames/Trymedia is that thier versions often won't let you play online with people who have the store bought versions. What about Totalgames?

The new Starforce crashware that they put in TOCA 3 is even more evil than the old stuff. I'm hearing from a number of people that I know that their DVD drives will no longer play movies, their computers often refuse to shut down and just freeze up, and quite a number of other things. This is from people I know rather than the usual random anonymous people on the web. They also have some new monster 16mb garbageware to go with it which is doing who knows what.

They only put this stuff in if you let them get away with it people. Don't buy garbage that ruins your computer. At least a few companies are starting to realize this.

This could be a great game. I'll certainly be keeping my eyes open for it. I hope there will be a demo for it.

I loved the Driver series (including) Stuntman) until they put out Driv3r. The controls were nearly unworkable and they wouldn't let them be customized. The game had some cool aspects but the flaws really ruined things.

I hope that they learned something from the lousy reviews. The next one looks interesting.

Flatout has far and away the best damage modeling that I've ever seen. They don't license real car companies so they can smash them up as much as they want. Most car companies seem to be afraid that if people see their cars get wrecked in games that they will be reluctant to go out and buy them or something. This means that if a game wants to use real cars in the games then they must license with the car companies who then tend to refuse to let them get too smashed up. It seems a little silly to me but there it is.

Total destruction of cars in races should ad an interesting twist to the gameplay as well.

They could have just about made an entire game out of the destruction derbies in Flatout1, it was so good.

The AI changes in Flatout2 sound very cool. I wonder if they just remember everything from career mode or if quick race stuff also has an effect. It would be nice to be able to safely experiment in quick race mode without getting all of the AI drivers permanently mad at you in future career races.

The new screenshots are looking cool. I hope they don't replace too many old muscle cars with modern ones. I'm wondering if they will ever race against each other in the final version. It looks like fans of both should be happy though.

I also hope they fight off any pressure to make the physics arcade level and less simlike. It's a good balance now and it would ruin it to make it more arcade.

I can't wait for this summer.

One thing that it does have going for it is that it is very mod-able. You can mod pretty much anything. It isn't always easy but at least it can be done and they designed it with mods in mind. Very few game makers do that these days. Many claim that they will when they start out but dump it about halfway through. The Starforce canceled out a good deal of the goodwill the modability created.

Aside from Starforce, waiting well over a year to release it in the U.S. really killed it. Releasing it at the same time as RBR also really nailed them.

It also wasn't obvious where to enable the sim level physics and handling.

Why is it so @#$%*&! hard to get racing games released in the U.S. ? Whay does it also take so long ?

The track editor for CRC sounds cool. I've seen one work in progress and it looks good. I wish more companies would do this.

*********Warning*********

Even after removing the demo and rebooting, Sony's SecuRom User Access Service (v7) 1.2.0.2 uaservice7.exe loads up in task manager and takes up about 1mb of memory.

I found it in windows\system32. I'm about to try and remove it.

That settles it. I won't be buying this. They can take this game and shove it !

I was really looking forward to this but the cheesy arcade physics make this a no-buy for me unless they add a mode with much, much more realistic physics(or someone makes a mod). There are some cool aspects to the game but the arcade physics are way too hokey. I was really looking forward to the track editor too.

However, Trackmania fans will probably like this.

You might have a controller issue. I hit the gas while turning all the time. It is pretty much essential in demolition modes or reorienting from spinouts quickly. In addition, you should make sure that when you create a profile that it is set to professional mode. Flatout seems much better than most other games about this.

There are also some physics mods out there which make it much more like Rally Trophy.

Braaiins !!!

I've only tried the demo but I liked it quite a bit. This game is much more creative than the last several games I've tried put together. Maybe the demo just shows off the funnest parts or something. I guess I can picture it getting repetitive.

I love zombies and I've been waiting for a game to let me play one.

I'd pick this up if it was cheap enough.

I didn't see any controls that allow you to possess anything or throw your head though. I thought those things were part of the game.

None of the theatres are showing this even in some major cities.

I can't find anyone in the country who has actually seen it.

Why in the world is Ben Kingsley in this ? I take it that he has always wanted to do a vampire flick but still ...

I'm a sucker for vampire films too but I think I'll miss this one. I should have known when the reviewers weren't allowed to prescreen it. That's always a very bad sign.

I'm trying to figure out how he secured funding for the other half dozen game films he's doing. His previous films have tanked.
