Sounds like a decent compromise to me, plus I like the fact it'll be more horror oriented rather than action.

I agree completely, the games they've made since switching to the Unreal engine just do not feel as good as the older ones. They are clunkier..but fun in their own way. Just not as fun as the original series.

I've seen reports on this stuff on CNN and Science Channel, it is 'real' in the sense that the technology exists and the proof-of-concept suits have been demonstrated. Like all new technology, it will take years before it is practical, but it is damn cool.

Laugh away, but the Deer Hunter franchise has sold more than twice as many units as the Halo xbox franchise, and more than xbox and pc combined. There is a large segment of the population that hunt, and as the number of computers grows, so will the number of hunting games that are sold.

While S4 may not be the same game as SWAT:UJ, it is most definately a continuation of the series the same as SUJ was to be. To me, it seems like it is more geared to resemble the Swat3 game (thank god!!). From all accounts, it WILL have coop campaign mode - I can only pray it stays in there since S3 coop was the most fun I've had in a long time.

Great to see a hdd maker go back to a long warranty. We should reward them for making the move, vote with your money for longer warranties

Well, I guess with my system I won't be playing 'Doom 3 FPS - Doom 3 First Person Shooter'...I'll be playing 'Doom 3 FPS - Doom, 3 Frames Per Second'.

I wonder why the suggest Deepnet Explorer as an alternative to IE...since it uses the IE engine. If they are going to suggest it, they might as well include MyIE2...which is superior to Deepnet and also uses the IE engine.

This is pathetic...ATI, long since aware of the Thief 3 problem, seems unable to fix the issue. Way to go ATI, you are a great company and I'm glad I spent my money on your product.

WTH? They ditched coop? I've literally been watching the news on this game for over 1.5 years, and the main reason was me and my buddy were dying to play this game's coop mode. Damnit these game companies killing coop are really pissing me off - I know it's difficult, but damn every coop player tells all his friends to buy the game because they need friends to play coop, you'd think they'd just bite the bullet and do it. This game will still be great, but now I just won't be buying it.

I think The Rock would be ok in that role. I hate wrasslin', and wanted to hate The Rock in his movies, but he's been ok - he's kinda like-able. Since Arnold passed the torch to him he's the de facto action star and that would propel doom the movie into mega status.

Well I just played DE:IW for the first time...after being a very big fan of DX. Man, that game sucks...it's not even remotely close to the gameplay I loved in the original. I played the first 3 missions and could not force myself to go on - it was horrible. On top of that, the settings were hosed and it crashed my computer upon trying to uninstall it. Injury to insult.

I've pre-ordered Thief:DS, but only because I really (REALLY) liked the first two and want to support the franchise. I really hope a vastly different team of coders made TDS - because they severely missed their target with DXIW. I almost think they sabotaged the PC version on purpose just to drive people off the PC and onto the more profitable XB. Utter shite.

Jesus Christ are you anal....I'd hate to be your roommate. This game is getting lots of kudos, I can't wait to give it a try and check out the great atmosphere they claim it has.

(btw the skip intro does work)

With many games it's easier now adays to just play the pirate version. The PC game industry can't win...the more they try to stop pirating to combat decreasing sales, the more they piss off people who buy their games to start with. It's going to be a sad day when I'm forced to buy a console to play my favorite games.

I haven't seen the game or played a demo yet, so I can't say for sure...but I did play their last game, Venom, and it was no slouch. These guys make a quality game engine, and it 'feels' good to play too. If they can deliver on 50% of their promised game/story elements then it will be a very good game because I know they can code a great engine.

I think this is great, it is so easy to wield power the wrong way...in this case the sites are banding together (even ones who have hosted exclusives before) in an attempt to wield their power in a way that is beneficial to the gaming masses.

You go girl.

"It would be very difficult to re-make the current missions from Hidden & Dangerous 2 to use the co-op mode because it would mean making extensive changes to the code."

Ahh..thank you Martin. Let me say that it was very difficult for me to go to work 300 days a year and earn the money that I need to pay you for your hard work. Everyone works hard you wanker...I'll buy your coop expansion pack, but it would be too difficult to go back and spend my money on a game without it. Usenet fills that niche nicely.

I STILL cannot get my settings to save...I've removed the read only attribute from user.ini, changed my settings mid-level, saved the game, changed levels to greasil pit..and they still get set back. Not only that, when I restart the game I have to go in and set the resolution, AA, etc etc all over again.

The demo is so aggravating I cannot finish it. I'm going to go the warez route initially with this game, if it turns out they've fixed a lot of playability issues I'll buy it as I've done in the past.

I have no doubt the game is great, like I said I've bought every other H&D game made, and loved them. I know I'm missing out on a great single player game, it's just that I feel a statement should be made. That's our right, and our duty really...if you don't approve of a game then the only way you can make a statement that will garner attention to the manufacturers is not to buy it.

If they would go ahead and say that a future add-on will include co-op, I'd go ahead and buy it on their word (even though they've lied in the past on such issues). As long as they are vague about co-op (as they were leading up to the game's release), I'll just hold off with my money or find other ways to play the SP.

btw it's "you're alone" :p
