News Comments > NVIDIA 20XX Reviews
21. Re: NVIDIA 20XX Reviews Oct 16, 2018, 14:56 Chipp0r
Nvidia is moving away from rasterisation to ray/path tracing as as a natural move away from the old tricks used to present a 3d gaming image which has had deminishing returns in graphical quality for the last 8 years.

Expect this to be the start of a crossing over and further h/w, software and games move to this new method. New consoles will utilise hybrid ray/path tracing - See Sony's next gen...

Heh, in 20 years time, you'll probably have to buy an old 2080 to play 'those old games' that used the current method

Hopefully Bluesnews will still be around then to say I told you so

I assume this is because of the new EU directive on data (GDPR) as it becomes enforceable in May.

Many companies are beefing up their account options to allow better visibility of what data they collect and give users control over it.

22. Re: Windows Gaming Survey Jul 9, 2016, 07:37 Chipp0r
Few excerpts from my survey:
- Integrate Windws Store with Steam as there is very little reason to use it due to lack of current or back titles.
- Make the desktop more useful for gamers (and I don't mean the Xbox homepage as that doesn't work for 2k+ displays)
- Redo Windows Experience to provide a benchmark on a PC and inturn give all games a score based on on CPU, GFX, etc and thus can suggest improvements to make it run better on your PC

Please say Java is dying. I hate this software, it's the bane of my job trying to manage petty installs and version conflicts.

The sooner this drops down the toliet into computing history, the better.

Regarding GFX cards, for 2k plus gaming, a 1070 is the new standard. The 1060 will be a good upgrade card for the 750TI users to game at 1080p, hense 3GB. It is more of a budget card so it does fit.

Encouters of the Spooky Kind is a very funny and great movie. I don't think this movie will be great.. The One was an awful flick. Even crouching tiger was poor compared to 'real' chinese movies. See Jet Li in Fong Sai Yuk or The Evil Cult. Fun fun fun..
