I like the idea of PT boats. I seem to remember a couple of games during the late 80's that dealt with that theme. During that time, they had very simplistic physics.

I can't remember the name of the Accolade game that dealt with the Vietnam Patrol Boats. The big design decision was to include human characters to shoot. This was before Doom.

I haven't tried it in a while, but if you like Battlefield 1942, I'm going to guess that you won't like WWIIOL.

BF1942 is more action oriented.

Whereas WWIIOL is more of a simulation ie...forced first person view/limited views outside of vehicles, large combat area/with long transit times.

I didn't care for the infantry part of WWIIOL---primarily because it took a long time to get to the combat zone(only to die to a tank). It is realistic as far as infantry versus tanks---grenades have no effect on tanks.

"The image of Tiananmen Square cannot be sullied. We will not allow foreigners to treat this as a joke!' "

"Although the game is not in stores in China, pirated copies have reached its shores."

Hmmm, guess thief would go better.

"Actually, instead of Bush urging people to be more healthy, why not make it mandatory in school to do a couple of hours hard physical workout a day?"

1st off the parents should be the ones that have to manage their weight. Of all the subjects that have a mandatory minutes per week, Physical Education is the ONLY one. I believe it works out to 45 minutes each day. Math and Language Arts are not given the same consideration, so a teacher could just teach math only 30 minutes a week.

Plus, some parents constantly try to have thier children opt out of PE. When I worked as a supervision aide, we got the written notes---Please escuse my child because he/she is allergic to the grass or more common I don't want my child having any P.E. because he has asthema(sp).

"Customs insisted the figures are dolls, and thus subject to 12% import duties, instead of the 6.8% rate for toys."

My wife likes to tease my friend. "So you collect dolls."
"No, they're action figures"
