I think it annoys me more that console heads were thinking they would expect the game to run/look like it was being advertised. There was no way the game would have been advertised in an inferior way in any marketing/ad. So now they can cry false advertisement yet, what did they expect? Now on the other hand, if they're excepting the game looking like crud but it still runs like a$$, perhaps that's still an issue on CDPR. Like, if they have to make it really look horrendous just to get some performance improvements, then that is why the had to do. There is no way they could get the graphics anywhere close to next gen on the older hardware while still running smooth. It's really a no win situation to grab extra $$$ off people. Not a good look.

The issue isn't that it looks bad, it's that it crashes and is full of too many bugs.

Why do people here have so much distain for console owners that they keep saying "hey, deal with it, it isn't a big deal!"

No one said this when Arkham Knight got pulled on the PC

My office is closed the next two weeks, which means I'll probably have 30-90 minutes of work any given day. Seems a good time to start something time consuming. Looking for recommendations.

Right now, I'm considering:
* Disco Elysium
* Morrowind with some modding (never played)
* The Witcher 3 (again)
* The second in the newer Deus Ex
* The far cry with the twins
* Alan Wake or Control
* Dishonored 2
* Dead Island, if there's a mod for weapon repairs
* Shadow run Returns
* Xenonauts
* Crusader Kings 3

Odds are I'll just do a replay of Mount & Blade Warband or Jagged Alliance 2, haha

That's what you get for releasing a game in a late Alpha state. Yes I meant Alpha seeing as most if not all early Betas I played were more polished than this.

Come back in a year, it should be out of Beta by then.

So you haven't played it on PC. Okay. And you probably haven't played it on console either.

Stop spreading misinformation. It's nowhere near as bad as people are saying. It's not perfect, but plenty of people are having a ton of fun with it. Stop acting like it's the fucking end times. Rolleyes

If a dev releases a game on a console that is utterly unplayable, yes, they deserve to be treated as if it's end of times.

I don't get why people with expensive PC rigs act as if this is no big deal just because it doesn't impact them. Console sales were going to be at least 40%, if not 60%, and they released a version that does not run and they withheld review copies.

So these guys flew women to CA from all over the US. They promised them their videos wouldn't be on the internet and only sold in Australia, but put them up on the internet anyway. They promised them $5K for the shoot but usually paid them much less. Seems to fit the definition. These guys are total scum.

And the proof of that is where exactly? Claims aren't proof. I'm not saying they're not scumbags, they probably are, but it's what you can prove, not what you 'know'. Besides these chicks knew what they were getting into. You're agreeing to have sex on camera for money. And if you're signing a release form, that's on you.

The 40 women - of all whom are referred to by the pseudonym Jane Doe and a number - are demanding a jury trial and seeking more than $1m (739,000) each.

A million bucks for breach of a $5000 contract - and I see nothing in that article that stated what the agreed amount was in the first place - is exceedingly punitive by any definition. Sounds more like some lawyers hoping for an easy score rounded up some disgruntled contractors in hopes of striking it rich.

I'm guessing their proof came out in the multiple lawsuits in which they shared texts and emails, though I'm sorry they didn't send them directly to your home, since you seem to be the most important judge here.

Yeah, but Saints Row is an over the top game trying to shock you. The dildos are there as shock value. They're weapons.
Here, it doesn't function as shock value.

Was that really a personal attack? Other than pointing out that we have to point things out frequently, it doesn't seem so.
I wish we could edit.

In any case, sorry, but saying that calling this distracting is prude, and that it's no different than walking into a sex store, is a bad argument. You walk into a sex store to see dildos, so they're not distracting because they're expected.

Seeing dildos where you do not expect to see them is a distraction, because it leaves you going "hey, a dildo!" That's a distraction. If you see one on the street, it distracts you. When a video made it to the top of reddit yesterday with one in the background, most of the discussion was about the unexpected dildo, because it's a distraction. Anything you do not expect is a distraction. A low frame rate or bad FOV is also a distraction.

A city covered in dildos is a distraction. In Saints Row, the intention is to distract. The complaint people have here is that it feels congruous and out of place.

"CD Projekt Red had nearly a decade to architect the great Cyberpunk 2077 mythos. Game reviewers had just a couple of days to assess it, and were hamstrung in how they could portray it. Gamers who had dropped $60 on this cyberpunk pleasure palace back in 2019 reeled; all the hot air came whizzing out. One professional reviewer, Kallie Plagge, gave Cyberpunk 2077 a 7/10 on GameSpot—not even a pan—criticizing it for one-dimensional world building, disconnected side quests, and large-scale technical issues. Mass harassment attended the review. Reactionary YouTubers, who did not have access to the game, dedicated long videos to dismantling her critique, dissecting her playtime and playstyle. But just days later, once gamers had finally played Cyberpunk 2077 themselves, many did a 180. “Everyone talked shit about her, but I’m starting to agree with Kelly [sp] Plagge,” read one popular post on /r/cyberpunkgame."
Wired reads bluesnews forums.

Tying back to the rant I just did in another topic, it just feels like so many gamers can't separate the art from the hobby, nor themselves from the hobby. Any slight against any game that comes from a POV they do not have is grounds for war.

Does a reviewer hold an opinion you do not, or is bothered by something you aren't? They must not be a real gamer
Did someone encounter a bug or performance issue you did not? Then the issue is the user or the system, clearly not the developer, even if the bug is happening on 100% of a certain system the game was released and sold for $60 for
Did someone not enjoy a mission? You'd better act as if they're attacking the entire product, because you can't separate out individual parts of a game, you must adore it entirely!
Are there 3 sentences in an otherwise glowing 500 sentence review that you dislike? You'd better tell the reviewer to go die in a fire on Twitter!

It's just so odd to me that so many say "well, why would you expect it to run on the recommended hardware?!" That's the whole purpose of recommended hardware, no?

Meanwhile, plenty of other hardware runs on that hardware while looking significantly better. Sure, there may be more going on under the hood here than much of that, but is it really enough to justify something being released that doesn't run on the hardware it's being sold for?

I'll never get why some gamers are so immediately quick to defend anything a developer does. "They worked their employees 100 hours a week for 6 years without pay? These are desirable jobs and they could have left at any time! They use the N word? It's their creative right! They got half a point out of 10 docked for the game literally not running? So-called journalists are a joke today!"

Even your favorite band releases bad songs. No one says they're horrible for it. You can criticize something without condemning it, meaning that not everyone needs to run to defend it. Get in the Ring is a terrible Guns N Roses song. It doesn't make the band terrible, or the album, or the other songs around it. No one feels the need to call anyone saying it's a bad song idiots or accuse them of having bad sound systems. The final episode of Seinfeld is pretty bad, but few that love the show feel the need to call anyone that has that opinion dumb and objectively wrong. But say something perceived as a slight to a game or developer and some people act like you declared war on the entire hobby.

Normally I feel that people here are way too hard on games, but yeah, I had no clue there was a new MoH in 2020, and seemingly, neither did MoH, because this does look 2010ish.

Clearly not intended to be a AAA title, I assume. But priced like one.

This is actually a better example than you think. UPS and FedEx do not deliver to every address in the US. It's too expensive for them to. This is why we have the USPS. They are required by act of Congress to deliver to every single address in the US. This is very expensive, but a requirement. It's also why it's infuriating when conservatives try to kill the post office, as the private sector will never address the entire market.

Basically, there's a huge difference between the private companies, even if they have huge market share, and the government-owned entities. Which feels pretty spot on for discussions about what is and is not censorship.

He may not be saying it, but there definitely appears to be some here of the belief that this is all to silence CP2077 dissenters.

I know the left leaning folks here are quite alright with conservatives being censored to begin with as cultural marxism seems to be the left's bag now. That being said it doesn't make it right.

Can you show us a conservative voice censored for being conservative?

Odds are, you'll show us someone removed from a platform for harassing, for inciting violence, for spouting racism, or for outright lying. Then again, you possibly consider those to be conservative tenants.
Or, you'll show us someone with millions of followers that had it happen, then compare it to someone with 5 followers that did the same thing, and act as if it's equal.

Frankly, the notion that CDPR can somehow coerce Google to block a negative video about their product, but only one negative video and not the literally hundreds of others, is absolutely absurd.

Here's something really crazy. The only truly honest review of the current state of the game is Worth A Buy, and his video is now being censored. It will not come up on a Google search. You have to go directly to his channel on youtube to watch it. He recently released a follow-up video about the situation. The Internet is really turning into a big pile of fake news. It favors fake over facts. Ugh

Here's Mack's (pc) review (which is actually quite funny, particularly the rating segment at the end. He does it that way to try not to butt-hurt the fanboys lol):
WaB Cyberpunk 2077 Review

Here's his follow-up vid:
WaB Cyberpunk 2077 Follow-up

How is this the only "honest" review?
Plenty of reviews gave it not great scores, or did you not see all the outrage over it getting below 10s?

Each time the car left his vision, it disappeared. When he looked back at the intersection, a new one drove up to take its place.
