No, really, please explain to me why COD5 was "a shitty game."

The campaign was retarded. Scripting, maps, enemy health, everything. Way worse than CoD4.

Kiefer Sutherland's voice acting was fucking terrible. A good actor doesn't automatically make a good voice actor, especially so when reading from a retarded script. Just like Sean Bean in Oblivion.

The zombie mode was quite retarded as well. LOL! You arbitrarily earn money for shooting super slow zombies so you can buy weapons from random cabinets! OMG kewl! Oh, and you can never win! And when you lose and restart you have to waste tons of time for it to become even remotely challenging again. That's called bad game design.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not a great game. I don't like country music, but I have to acknowledge that it's very enjoyable for other people. I don't go around bashing it just because I don't understand it or don't like it. I just don't buy it. I'm not sure why you would waste your time being so negative about a game you don't care about, when you could be spending time enjoying something you like.

Just like movies, games are subject to peoples opinions..and they vary widely. I happen to love each of the COD games for what they are and could care less about getting caught up with the stupid controversy over Treyarch -vs- IW developed titles. As long as it's good, I don't care. I'm looking forward to this.

Man, I really want to like this game, but the voice-over work is just the most horrible shit iv'e ever heard in a game and just that alone almost makes the game unplayable. Is there a way to completley just turn off the voices?

you guys are all extremely uninformed. What JD says is pretty accurate, and if any of you work in the industry, then you know this to be true. "Hotfixes" are not the same things as patches and do not require the same level of certification by MS/SONY/NIN

Everything he said is actually the opposite of the truth...

Pretty much. Everybody knows that console patches have to go through MS and Sony certification first, which is a slow and arduous process. This is why PC patches almost always come out before console patches. The distribution of patches is completely irrelevant to their development. Hell, even on that point he's wrong. Aside from posting the patch on the official website (and inevitably having dozens of mirrors made for you for free), you can also implement auto-update into your game so the latest patches download automatically.

As with the FEAR2 dev's claim that FEAR2 has no lead SKU, this claim is pretty obviously crap.

" No... that's what Hidden and Dangerous and H&D2 were. BiA is just a *terrible* shooter."

that's what I mean. you would classify BiA as a 'shooter', which to me, it clearly is not a shooter. It's a 3rd person tactical strategy game which was poorly marketed as a shooter. It was trying to appeal to a shooter market, and thus created it's own death because people want to play it like they would play Call of Duty.

Hells Highway was not horrible. That's pretty unfair to say. it's obvious that a ton of love and care went into the game, and for those that like what it offers, it's arguably the best in the BiA series of games. The problem is , as I see it anyways, that it's brand of action-strategy gameplay only appeals to niche crowd ( namely the armchair general type ).

You guys are overlooking alot of things. When he says "Games that make it to market" actually means , in addition to the huge blockbuster titles( that account for less than 4% ), you're talking about all the games for the wii, xb360 ( including all the arcade games ),ps3, all the handheld units ( psp,ds, cell phones, etc ). There are many , many games released that never turn a proft.

Also, "profit" doesn't necesarily mean that the company is not making money. It jsut means that after paying everyone and taking care of all their running and overhead expenses, there is little to nothing left over.

Companies like CDProjekt who manage to score a breakaway hit with something like the Witcher , is pretty rare.

I beg to differ. I think Treyarch did an awesome job with WaW, and was pleasantly surprised. This game is just as good, if not better than COD4 ( depending on how much you value the additions like co-op campaign, and the super awesome zombie level...which I do

bah, L4D is boring. There is not tactics, no strategy, nothing but running around like a bunch of chickens shooting stupidly mindless zombies. I'll stick to COD: WaW zombie mode thanks....

"Left 4 Dead is the new king of cinematic games"

Are you serious??? L4D is the most boring, overrated game i've played in a while. The zombies in COD: WaW are more scary, more threatening, and they don't die by the 10000's. COD: WaW zombie mode is an extremely well thought out mini-game ( not "tacked on" as someone said here ). You guys should try playing it ( rent it or whatever ) and form your own opinions rather than listen to the IW cockgobblers in here.

I think he answered the question exaclty as it was asked.
"Has the combat been improved and in what ways?"

The critique about the weapon accuracy was just a statement.

This brings American McGee's "Alice" to mind...which was indeed a sweet sweet game for it's time. He's had his fun trying to venture out into new directions, but it's time for him to realize...like Curly said in City Slickers....that he should stick to the one thing he excels at.

Talisom:

Because, it does not FORCE a reboot on you..it is optional. But we all know that SF won't work unless you reboot after a fresh install.

There should be a test worded something like: "Operates properly without the need to reboot"

This demo is fun as hell, not sure that you guys know that you can do more than just point and click at stuff. You can launch planes, ships, etc.. and then control them ( i.e. 9 get in dog fights, get in ship battles, whatever unit you want to assume direct control of). The graphics are nicer on PC than on Xbox360, but will not blow you away ...but they are still pretty sweet. Worth the download, don't listen to the negative nellies here on Blues.

I really liked Call of Juarez, still play it almost daily...and i'm probably one of the very few who thought Chrome was underrated. I do agree that it's puzzling to see them working on so many titles at once....I wouldn't think that they could financially afford such a thing, but who knows.

I wish them luck, the screenshots look damn nice!
