Ugh. Glad I'm not in Texas. Masks are to protect others FROM YOU, which clearly, isn't remotely a concern for Texans. "Fuck you, I got mine" mentality.

We'd be done with this by now, had everyone just done their part initially. But no, wearing a mask is just too damn difficult for some, apparently. Those are the SAME people complaining that we STILL have to wear masks, when their own refusal to do so is WHY we still have to. Anyone who refused to wear a mask is a child; a 5th grader who doesn't want to do their homework, so they waste their time and then suddenly don't understand why they can't join family movie night, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR DAMN HOMEWORK YET. Other countries CAN open back up, BECAUSE THEY DID THEIR DAMN HOMEWORK.

Lol, 4 million players, still in early access? That's the death knell for this game ever being finished correctly, right?

Unfortunately it's already infected pretty much my entire coop crew and even PC gamers at work, it's ridiculous how popular this game is with my age group. Inexplicable! I am probably going to be forced to get it at some point.

Ehhh, if their publisher, Coffee Stain, has any rub-off effect, they’ll add a surprising amount of content before calling it done.

As for having to get it because your friends did, what’s where I’m at. I’m the last one in, and it’s OK. It’s not amazing. The artwork is meh and a lot of the animations are just plain awful. The gameplay is fun enough, and is very much geared toward playing co-op.

It’s never incredible, but it’s good fun with friends.

Fry’s didn’t “suddenly” go out of business. They’ve been a ghost town for years, half the store was empty shelving.

It’s not a surprise, but it is disappointing.

Indeed. I ran into zero issues with the game on my full playthrough, on EGS, so at least THAT version is pretty solid.

Yet another case of Google not having the stones to see something all the way through.

I've got a few friends who picked it up. They say it's quite fun, although the interface is awful (as is every survival game's interface).

What always worries me about early success on unfinished games is that the devs will lose interest. A few EA games have gone that way...eventually, after much complaining from their customers, they label the current build as "1.0", and abandon it.

I hope that doesn't happen here, but the survival game genre is awash in unfinished titles. The only one I know of that's actually complete is The Forest, and that game actually has a story (although it's extremely easy to miss, and pretty much requires an online guide to complete).

Whoever had the idea to make this a poetic ode video with this many cuts from the actual point of the video SERIOUSLY needs to rethink their life choices. Doom 2 cardboard should be full-blast heavy metal and screams of awesome destruction! So what if it's not 10 minutes... it could have been an awesome 3 minute video.

Yup....but no one can bring themselves to just make something neat anymore, they have to make sure everyone sees them jerking themselves off over it as well.

Played co-op through the first game. Quite fun, with different mechanics than other RTS games, due to an Xbox controller being the only way (originally) to play it. Watching Spartans actually tearing vehicles apart was amazing, usually unit interactions in RTS games are...basic.

I can't believe they are spending time on this, because it means the game could have already been released.

Do you believe this is being developed by one person?
You do understand that most of game development is content-based, which is absolutely done by a completely different group of people than the programming, yes? Which means they found themselves with extra time as content producers weren’t finished, so the programming side (and from the article, they brought in someone else entirely) are working on VR implementation. Yes, it will likely require a small amount of specialized content, but not enough to offset release.

This is a one-man effort of a game, and it’s surprisingly fun. I think I got it in a humble bundle a couple years ago, and it’s been a consistently good time. Play it co-op with friends or family members for best results. Alcohol makes this game even better.

For those who can’t tell this game apart from Fall Guys...hang up your gaming hat, you’re done. You’re officially out of touch. Fall Guys was a smash hit the day it launched, and you SHOULD be quite aware of it. H:FF started off with terrible sales numbers, and skyrocketed months later, likely due to a high profile streamer playing it. One of the games is a race, the other is a comparatively slow, methodical puzzle game. Both games are very well known now, so...if you mix them up, you’re now the parent who calls all game consoles “nintendos”.

I'm bummed that FH4 made it to steam when FH3 was shut down...it was absolutely the better game.

Loving all the "this should be a totally different kind of game and then I'd like it" comments. The Horizon games have always been sim-cade games, made by veterans of the genre. Playground Games is made up of devs who made Burnout, The older Dirt games, and Project Gotham. Forza Horizon *IS*, effectively, Project Gotham now.

Whoever said they liked TDU2 clearly forgot that game had some of the WORST physics (as in, completely unreliable) of any recent racing game. I did like some of the other ideas used in the game, but they focused too much on their neat tech and nowhere NEAR enough on the actual, ya know, primary part of the game.

If you haven't played a Horizon game before, 4 is still very, VERY good. FH3 was better, simply because they had a better location and better DLC. Shame they lose the licensing rights for the cars/music so quickly.

Having had worked for ISPs for 14 years as a field technician, the MOST COMMON causes of slow internet (that weren't caused by something wrong with the feed) that I saw were:

- Poor router placement...often, people shove them into their home entertainment center, down low and either behind a sheet of glass or between multiple shelves made of glass. That shit is wifi cancer. Metal, glass and stone are wifi's enemies. Putting the router up high lets the signal go further without crap in the way. Humans often keep most of their stuff at shoulder level and below.

- Baby monitors. In furnished houses, 2.4ghz is what a dual band router runs most devices on, as 5ghz works well for ABOUT the distance of 1.5 rooms (about 20 feet). Baby monitors almost all run on the 2.4ghz band (for range) and have zero respect for anything else. I would tell customers that wifi is like a nice dinner party around a large table, and baby monitors are two drunk frat guys who come in and yell at each other across the table. Sure, THEY can communicate, but *everyone else* is just screwed until they shut up.

- ISP-provided wireless routers aren't great. They're routers AND modems, and they're sold AT A PROFIT for under $100. Don't expect miracles. Often, wireless speeds on these routers drop to the data rate of the slowest device attached. Heyo, maybe DON'T have that ancient gen-1 iphone you're using as an ipod hooked to the wifi all the time.

- Your builder is a moron. Seriously, in BRAND NEW HOUSES, builders aren't installing or even suggesting customers put in ethernet lines. I've been in houses where NO coax-based service provider exists, the builder KNEW THIS before building a single house, and yet the houses are wired only with coax. The only reasoning I can come up with is that the builder is a Boomer and has "always built houses this way". They often referred to "ethernet" as "phone", and that's pretty much all you need to know about their logic. Ethernet is the ONLY signal line you should have running everywhere in a new house.

Adding a few strategically-placed ethernet jacks for mesh backhauls/wired switches isn't terribly expensive, and you'll feel the benefits every day. If you don't already have the tools for it, it's often cheaper to hire someone to do this than do it yourself. The tools ALONE cost as much as you'd pay someone to put in 2-3 outlets. Running all the lines to a single location, ideally very close to where your utilities come in, you'll be as future-proofed as you can really get.

There ya go, just wrote a better article than the one in the link.

Play this co-op with a friend, have a great time! The expansion is only so-so, so you can safely avoid it. While you CAN split up, try to stick together, as you can miss some of the events entirely if your friend completes something without you.

I never bought into the optane ecosystem, seems Intel didn’t either.

The laptop I bought in August has one of these hybrid Optane/ssd drives. It works quite well, although I’d hate to have to reinstall the OS on it. Setting up Optane is a HUGE pain in the ass.

With SSD prices now, it’s a dead idea. It made sense back when SSDs were small and pricey.

We have one drive left in the store. I might build it into one of our floor models just so it goes out the door.
