Intel:

"according to Digital Trends, Intel's Xe HPG could achieve performance somewhere between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080, which would be a major coup for Team Blue.

The new card is said to feature ray tracing and – importantly – will feature the same kind of super sampling technology as Nvidia DLSS"

Yeah sure and next you'll say all this for $250.

After release, it will be noted that someone "made a typo", and it actually competes with the gtx 370 and 380. Also, it features "superb sampling", picking out the best parts of the image to render, and not bothering with the boring parts, to increase your framerate!

So they included a track from the fan made Very Track Pack mod, with a few minor tweaks (all dirt now, was mixed dirt and pavement before, plus added a few jumps.) These tweaks vastly improve the track and it is a major blast to race on. Well done Bugbear!

If you like contact racing and have not tried Wreckfest you are really missing something.

Yup. This game is stupid fun. The larger tracks require you to actually control the vehicle, the smaller ones you should just be happy if you make it across the finish line. The destruction is ridiculous, and with 24 players in most matches, it's a near-constant.

My second Pfizer shot hit me in the middle of the night...woke up feeling like I’d been in a fight I didn’t remember. Ached everywhere. Took aspirin, slept until 4pm the next day, and was fine.
Not a good time, but better than having actual Covid!

game is only for Oculus setups, everyone else gets halfassed support. Fuck Zen studios for selling out and then trying to pretend they didn't. Just own up to it and get the fuck off Steam if you only support Oculus hardware.

Going by the Steam forums it does looks like you can play the entire single player component. That is pretty nice of them. The single player aspect gets decent reviews.

I wish I had the bandwidth to spare to download it.

It's a lot of bandwidth to what amounts to a four hour SP campaign.

More like 6-8, but yeah, you can probably knock it out over the weekend. It's well worth the time, the campaign is a blast to play through. Easily sits up there alongside Portal. The multiplayer is fun, although I will admit I don't have the time to dedicate to being good at adversarial multiplayer in any one game...so I play this one co-op. There's a dedicated mode for it, and it's a hoot.
I'm surprised it has a free weekend but isn't on sale.

Seriously I would rather play Russian roulette with a fully loaded pistol then play this shit.

Really I don't get it. Click,Click,Click.....

I'll totally see what $100 in Epic Bribes makes me thing about this skinner box.

Well then... it's not for you, Jen. I'm pretty sure it's not for me either, but I'm sure there are some players out there who are THRILLED for it.

This just smells like "Valve makes a lot of money, how can WE get some of it?"

Steam is the most popular storefront because the company put a lot of resources toward it. EGS is so barebones that it's barely a storefront, and Epic HAS the money to put into it, but they'd rather spend it on funding weekly freebies than improving the platform itself.

I say that, having purchased a couple games on EGS, but if I ever play them again, I will be re-buying them on Steam. EGS isn't smart enough to find games from a prior windows installation, Steam is. Simple as that.

What game(s) are you referring to? I've not run into a single game on Steam/GOG that won't run on my machine, and I have an embarrassingly huge Steam library.

sadly, they don't offer the component that breaks inside the vive controller's trackpad, which is one of THE most common parts to break. I replaced my Vive ice cream cones with Index controllers and never looked back, but if I upgrade the rest of my setup, I could sell the Vive kit...except that damn trackpad issue.

I never understood the accolades for that film myself and have yet to sit through the entire thing. What I did view left me with a meh impression. If you sit through the entire thing does it really leave you with the phenomenon of what a masterpiece?

Thing is, it's a period piece that was a shot at Hearst. Hard for people to relate to that didn't understand who a robber baron like William Randolph Hearst was. Watch Mank for a better understanding of it. Beyond that, I never thought it was any great shakes either.

It's definitely one of those movies that's art and not universally accessible. I still think Shawshank Redemption is the best movie ever because it's an incredible story, well performed, is relatable, is beautiful visually and is accessible to pretty much everyone.

Oh man, Shawshank Redemption is so damn good. I'd also throw Fight Club in the ring for "masterpiece", although a few scenes might not make sense now (corded phones, magnetically wiping videotapes).

Man, this was like a game I slept on. I thought it was just puzzle based to the point of meh, not interested. I knew it had a big fan following but I just wasn't intrigued by it. One day I was bored in probably like 2019, lol and was like, let me give this a shot. I had it and the original in my Steam library just sitting there. Got it with HL2 or a bundle, I forget.

Totally blew me away. I started with Portal 1 obviously because I wanted to go in order. I beat it, wanted more, dived right into 2. Had no idea what to expect out of 2 when it goes off the rails. Was an awesome game. So much I wanted more similar. I think that is what made me buy The Talos Principles which I also skipped for years despite the overwhelming positive reviews. While that game has some epic/deep puzzle thinking moments, it was lacking the personality that Portal had. Still an amazing game overall. Yeah so here I am rambling... Yeah, Portal is awesome. Get it and give it a shot if you haven't tried it yet.

If you haven't yet, check out Titanfall2's single-player campaign. The game regularly goes on sale for like $5-$7. It's unrepentantly short, but it is INCREDIBLE. One of the top single player games I've played in the last decade.

I'm assuming they're doing this because their user numbers are dropping. I don't actually know if they ARE, but that'd be a reason to pull this sort of thing. When a game's playerbase starts to shrink, devs will try a lot of things to keep that from continuing. Games with dropping player bases don't tend to attract new players, and it's the beginning of the end.

Wanted to add : 48,000 "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews, 96% average.

Finished it in March on EA Play, but I absolutely *need* it in my library.
The SP campaing, is 6 to 8 hours long, depending on your style, but what a totally brilliant game !

Also used Fling to jump all over that world, what stunning views !

TF2’s campaign is short but incredibly good. I plan on going back and replaying it, which is rare for me. One of the best single player adventures ever, right up there with Portal and Uncharted 2/4.

I figure I can wait until they've really ironed things out. I played Witcher 3 like 2 or 3 years after it came out, and experienced zero of the bugs people had posted about it. Apparently they'd overhauled the inventory system and several other major features since release, I think it's safe to assume they'll do the same with CP2077. As others have said, I have a big enough backlog, and my GPU is lacking (with no replacement to be found), so I'm ok with waiting.

Domino's is like Long John Silver's. I don't know a single person who likes their food, but clearly there are a lot of people who do because they're still in business. I prefer the small local pizza place we have...not only is the pizza quite good, my money isn't going to a huge corporation. They even make their own dough.

As for the bit Flying Pengiun said about idiot senators...well, they're senators. Their entire job is to spew rhetoric and accomplish nothing. Why on earth would you expect them to understand the complexity of something more complicated than making a bowl of cereal?

I loved the story in Control, but the combat could feel unfair. It was difficult to gauge which enemy was the biggest threat, in terms of what would hit the hardest, and spending points on health increases on your part never felt like they actually did anything.

BUT I kept playing, because I loved the story. It had a death grip on me, so I kept going.

In contrast, I just played through Ori and the Will of the Wisps (I know, I know, totally different genre), and it's ALSO gorgeous, but it plays as well as it looks. Deaths felt fair and I knew how much an enemy would hurt me.

I *KNOW* that some devs intentionally hide the damage you take to tweak the game in the player's favor, or to make it FEEL like they won by the skin of their teeth, but I *HATE* that design theory. Make damage consistent, and most of all make sure that spending points toward more health FEELS LIKE YOU LIVE LONGER in a fight.
