I’d love to have a stand alone (and also capable of wireless streaming) VR headset that isn’t tied to Facebook. C’mon, Valve!

Yep....I got my 3080 for both features, but when push inevitably comes to shove, DLSSS is the star. I do love my games to look pretty, but I like to not lose due to shit framerate even more.

Oddly, it became available at the worst possible time; we just bought a house and I'm remodeling the basement. The desktops are still in storage, although I pulled mine out to stress test the card while I still had a return window. I *finally* was able to get an electrician out a couple days ago, but he didn't even test all the outlets he put in so I refuse to hook ANYTHING up until he comes out and checks everything again. Fuckin' contractors. At this point I'm probably a good month away from having my machine up and running. Couldn't manage to score a card for nearly a year prior to us buying the house, and I was content with kinda ignoring their existence...but I still tagged the 3080s in the Newegg shuffle, which I won basically the instant we moved into the house.

Now, that sounds like I didn't like it. I did! It just pales in comparison to FH3 and its batshit-crazy HotWheels expansion.

FH5 is coming very soon, and the trailer hints at the possibility of HotWheels-like track pieces, specifically for the build-what-you-want mode. It's briefly shown twirling into the sky at the end.

Another stellar single-player campaign like TitanFall2 is all I want. It’s seriously one of the best FPS campaigns ever made. While it’s certainly on the short side, it refuses to waste your time. And there’s no concern of hackers ruining your fun!

I’m thankful I landed a 3080 through the Newegg shuffle. Sure, I got the card nearly a year later than I wanted it, but…that’s ok. The cost of upgrading my whole rig was still pretty on-course since ram and the processor I wanted took a dive in cost. That processor has since jumped up by $80, so…I got in when the getting was good, I guess.

As for that 12th gen Intel chip, I’ll wait to see how much of a difference it makes in real world gaming. I JUST got my new rig built, too, so I think I’ll be skipping the first couple generations of ddr5-based processors.

If you have VR and somehow don’t have this game yet…get it! While it leans heavier toward new-to-VR players, it capitalizes on what makes VR different. It also looks impossibly better than any other VR game to date, and runs butter smooth.

The Microcenter in Detroit had a wall of AMD cards...most people going in weren't interested. Nvidia or bust! Personally, I'm avoiding AMD video cards. The hardware is solid, but jesus christ they can't figure out drivers to save their lives. They still...STILL! ...haven't fixed the fan curve issue for their 580/590 cards that they introduced nearly two years ago. The default fan curve (which the drivers will auto-revert to in the event of a driver crash) is too low for the cards' thermal limits. Most of the cards will shut off at 80c, and the fan curve isnt' set to go above "very slow" until 85c. You can manually adjust the fan curve, but if the system or video drivers ever crash, you have to go back in and redo it again. The entire problem was caused by AMD trying to make the cards quieter (Because Nvidia had released the near-dead-silent 1000 series) and then clearly forgetting the line of cards even exists.

While I'm not a fan of Nvidia CONSTANTLY putting out new, proprietary gimmicks, some of them are absolutely better than AMD's attempts to match them. DLSS is the big one for me, it *should* mean I can keep my current card for longer than I normally would want to, because I'll be able to scrape decent framerates out of games that put the screws to my card later on. AMD's version of it leaves some weird artifacts, at least in its current design.

And yes, I see how Bulletstork is spelled there. My phone autocorrected to that at some point long in the past, and has held onto it for years.

Basically, if a game was a PS4 exclusive, it's worth checking out if it comes to PC. God of War, Uncharted, Spider-man, HZD, Ratchet & Clank, Last of Us, Shadow of the Colossus' remake.
I hope that if Uncharted 4 does well on PC that they'll port the 1-3 collection as well. The first game is a bit rough, the second game is a masterpiece, the third game...well, there's a third game. It exists. The second game, though, is so good that I never expected them to be able to surpass it. But they did! With 4.

Kinda sad that only like...two Xbox One exclusives were worth checking out. Sea of Thieves (and that's only *with friends* that it's worth playing), and of course the Forza Horizon games.

Oh shit, the best game of the series! It’s a shame they aren’t putting 1-3 in as well, for story purposes, but 4 works prior characters in in a way that makes it easy to know their place.

Looks barely different from what I played less than a year ago (so I would remember details for the Control DLC). I do wonder if they're gunning for a sequel, and gauging interest.

I gotta agree with big spender here, at least in terms of gameplay. I wasn’t a fan of d3’s lack of skill tree or reliance on very specific sets to be effective, but the moment to moment gameplay was WAY better in D3. And then I tried it in a console, and I’m cranky the pc version never allowed for controller support. Here’s hoping they add controller support to D4 on pc, while also allowing me to switch to mouse/kb with no settings changes. Being able to fight using the controller and then sort inventory either the mouse would be so insanely great.

I know that sounds like sacrilege, but isometric fighting games simply allow for better character control with a controller.

Diablo 3 runs on ultrawide just fine. As long as Diablo 4 does as well, I’m fine. I’m not buying this anyway; I tried it and didn’t feel any spark.

Looks like they wholesale ripped off the look of the Geometry Wars games.

I plan on buying/playing the first game here pretty soon, I finally got an RTX capable card. I want that sweet sweet DLSS!

Ehh, the required vs recommended may include extra cores for the legion of people who think others want to watch them stream. Or the game uses those extra cores for…who knows. Open world games tend to use more cores, but I thought that was for more single-player features like NPC AI.
