If you didn't get Control on EGS when it was free, here's another chance to do so, WITH the DLC! I have only played the first DLC, and found it to be lackluster, but the main game? Incredible. The story had me hooked from the first 5 minutes.

Also, any of the recent Tomb Raider games are pretty good. The third one was a *LITTLE* weird, with a sort of hub area that shows up halfway through the game.

Weird that they're giving out Puzzle Agent 2 without the original. It's like showing your friend Return of the King when they haven't seen the previous two movies. It's a direct continuation of the original game, story-wise. I suppose you could ignore the story and just do the puzzles but the story is funny and weird and easily half the fun of the games.

When has Danny Trejo ever done a leading/large role in something that wasn't a complete novelty or direct to video? I doubt its to promote a movie he's in.

"American Sicario" stars Danny Trejo. Trailer for it dropped yesterday. December 10th in theaters and streaming. Maybe that's not what this thing is about, maybe it is.

Really? Donkey Kong??? Why not bank on Zelda or...err....hrm. Honestly, while I always end up buying each Nintendo console, it's really just for Mario/Zelda games.

Wow, even worse than last month. I keep putting my sub on pause each month, because I'm grandfathered in, but I'm stating to think maybe I should just cancel my sub entirely. I used to want like 4-6 of the games they had each month, now it's rare that I see more than 2. Not sure if it's me or them, although their clear lack of blockbuster titles lately may be the reason.

Ugh, I hope that isn't it. Here's hoping it's a free promo to raise awareness of the actor near the release of a movie he's in, and the movie got delayed or something.

I’m just hoping Intel can crank out enough of these, and that they’re at least a reasonable alternative at the mid-high range. A third competitor in the video card game may bring pricing down. I don’t expect Intel to innovate, I just hope they’ve made rock solid cards and solid drivers.

As others have said, in a single-player-only game, might as well wait it out until most of the problems are sorted out. It's taking longer than usual, but there's no lack of good single player games out there. Control, Horizon Zero Dawn, the criminally forgotten Titanfall 2, Death Stranding, and....well, tons of others.

Ew, I wasn't aware of the Codemasters/EA acquisitions. Well, shit. That means whatever they make next will be absolute trash. EA seems hellbent on making a shitshow out of every racing game they produce.

I can't...I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but THANK GOD FOR MICROSOFT. Or, more specifically, thank god they thought Playground Games would be a good idea to put together, because that's where all the devs of the good racing games you remember went.

So, the game runs poorly on a chipset it says is unsupported. People have all sorts of excuses about why it SHOULD run better on it, and yeah, it SHOULD run better on it. But the fact remains that the card IS unsupported.

Do I think they'll fix it? Probably. Video cards are impossible to source right now, and a 980ti is still a decent performer. It's likely some specific call the game is making that the card struggles with.

But those people complaining that it doesn't run well on their UNSUPPORTED HARDWARE need to just deal with it. Refund the game, maybe pick it up later if they sort out the problem. It's the same thing as people saying "I have windows 7 still, and a game requiring windows 10 doesn't work on it!". Why would you assume it would? Sure, it's a high probability, but if it doesn't, YOU KNOW THE ANSWER ALREADY.

“ Here’s a fresh look at the Halo Infinite campaign that introduces players to true Spartan freedom in the biggest, most wide open and adventure-filled Halo experience yet, launching on December 8 2021.”

That’s…misleading. The game comes out on December 8th, but supposedly won’t include the campaign until later. Unless they somehow managed to make that happen way earlier than expected, which I wouldn’t complain about.

Another corporate quick buck scheme of trotting out old console product that no longer sells and repackaging it as a half assed PC port. I won't even consider it unless it has the following PC game essentials:

* fullly adjustable POV, brightness, contrast, bloom etc.
* full keyboard and mouse support with re-binding of any key/button
* movement, camera, mouse and keyboard control that is fluid, not the usual slow as molasses PC port garbage
* full player controlled game save and game load facility

What do you mean fully adjustable POV? Did you mean FOV? I doubt they'll let that be adjusted, as the game often blends its cinematics into the gameplay without camera cuts.

I really hope they add in a good KB/Mouse setup. This is a game that rewards skill shots. I played through it on PS4 but unlike Spider-man, the controller DID get in the way here.

The save/load thing will honestly be at the bottom of their list, and the most likely thing to not happen out of the things you want.

-----

About halfway into the game, a device will become available that lets you....ehh, best not to spoil it. Point is, using the device has a long, SUPER cool animation that's there to cover up load times. Pretty quickly, I'd decided I was only going to use it when absolutely required to move the story forward. I doubt they'll speed it up or let you skip it on a SSD, as the animation is....complex. Like, "how long did they spend doing JUST this?!?", and it moves the characters around to be in place for when it's finished.
The art in this game is honestly incredible, don't be concerned that it's a couple years old. Yes, it'd be *NICE* if Sony moved faster on this port. I'm betting the sales numbers from their PC ports will determine how much priority they put into getting their sequels on PC in a timely manner. I doubt you'll see same-day releases, but maybe it'll only be a year or so gap, and single-player games don't have the limited shelf life that multiplayer ones do.

Now we just need Spider-Man and the FULL Uncharted series (not just 4....although if you were only going to get one of them, 4 -is- the best).

Kill the Justice League looks like its got the setting and tone down for a Suicide Squad game, and the characters look great, and its Rocksteady making an Arkhamverse game, so... Im optimistic but gotta see some gameplay for sure.

I agree, Rocksteady did a great job with the Gotham Knight games, I have high hopes that they can make this as fun as the recent Suicide Squad movie.

I may be remembering wrong but wasn't the first remaster universally panned as not offering much of a remastering? lol i guess they figured they'd give it another go.

The first one's remaster doesn't look particularly amazing, but it runs pretty poorly. So yeah....not good. The third game was absolutely incredible, visually, so I'm not sure how much they could really improve upon it. The second game is....kinda crap across the board. It doesn't LOOK particularly great, has way smaller combat areas, and isn't QUITE a corridor shooter, but it doesn't have the huge open areas 1 and 3 do.

The PR droids must have been working on this one for at least a year.

There is only one way to stop online game cheating. Run every game in the cloud (like GFN, Shadow, Stadia etc.)

True, but currently that just isn’t feasible. Activision would shut down ANY prior COD game to save renderfarm time for their most recent game. They’d intentionally make their game less graphically intense just to save on the muscle required on their end.

And let’s not forget that a lot of people are still on metered internet.

They could also knock off the 'console exclusive' garbage if he really wanted 'hundreds of millions to enjoy our games'

They bought a porting company recently, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more than just HZD and Death Stranding on PC over the next year. There’s already been some noise about God of War. I think it’d be unlikely to see either Spider-Man game come across, that’d require getting Marvel involved. Uncharted 4 is apparently already announced as coming to PC, I hope it finds enough success that they also do the first 3 games.

Ah damn, the FCC spam call thing won't help a bit. There are loopholes, which means EVERY spammer will just switch to using those. Again, it's held back by people/companies who refuse to completely kill standards set over 100 years ago. I want an option on my phones to absolutely not TAKE calls from anything that isn't run through the stir/shaken system. THAT would accomplish something. Fuck those people who say "oh, but then I can't call anyone on my analog land line!". Sorry buddy. why are you on analog at this point? If ANYONE is still on analog phones, I'd have the FCC ask where all that money went that AT&T and other telcos are handed SPECIFICALLY to upgrade rural customers.

Bluepoint has outright KILLED IT on their Dark Souls and Shadow of the Colossus remakes. I'm excited to see what they come up with for their own IP, and if their skills go beyond "copy a previous game's feel and look, while technically starting from scratch".

I'd love to know the FPS difference in this game with a 10600K vs a 10700K 6 vs 8 cores, it states 10700K as ideal, but what are we really talking here?

Dunno. I've got a 3700x, while their "Ideal" is a 3800. I think Ideal is just "hey, if you can get this, it'll run best", which is kinda stupid. OF COURSE it'll run "even better" on godlike hardware.

Keep in mind, its predecessor runs surprisingly well on a 3200g's onboard graphics. We're talking hovering in the 45-50FPS range. Sure, that's on the lowest setting, but the game looks damn good even on that. SO I wouldn't be surprised if this one runs pretty well on the same hardware.
