No, no! Keep them going! Feed the fire! Muahahahahaha!!!

Btw, people who call other people "Trolls" and "Noobs" are losers. It reminds me of the peasent in the crowd that would shout "She's a witch! Burn her!" or "Blasphemer!". There's no way to fight that kind of attack.

"He's a troll!"
"No I'm not!"
"Look, he's denying it, that's just what a troll would do!"

*sigh*

There should be a name for people who do that. What would be a good name? Suggestions please?

I really wouldn't consider this school yard fight a "controversy". I'll take a guess and say that this thread is the only one of it's kind in the whole world.

Holy sh%t nin, you'd think he was YOUR dad/husband! There's no need to get insulting everybody! Let's all have a "time out".

I just think it's strange how impassioned some of us are getting here.

I'll step up to the plate for nin (I like a challenge)

I think what he's trying to say is that you're not going to see a WTC recreation game coming out anytime soon because everyone who lost somebody in that disaster would be upset. The same goes for the JFK thing - imagine a game reacreating the death of one of your family members. WWII shooters don't have characters modelled after real people AND they don't attempt to recreate exact conditions of any one person's death. I wouldn't want Jackie Kennedy to see that screenshot of her husband in the crosshairs.

On the flip side, this all happened over 40 years ago and I'm sure she's been saturated with documentaries and other media. She's probably talked about it a lot too. Plus, it's a historical event and one of the largest conspiracy theories ever to occur sooo...

Arguments can be made for both cases, can't we all just get along?

NO man, it is not just "Not the best game ever", it goes beyond that. Don't even think of it as a "game". The concept itself is proposterous. It is NOT enough for just me to dislike and not play, it seriously bothers me that OTHER people are wasting their lives on SWG. Redline, trust me, I am your friend! I am trying to save you - I know eventually you will come around and realize the same things I have without my intervention but I can get you there so much earlier. You will change your mind and I know you'll thank me later.

Let me make this one point: Think of all the guys out there who write FRICKING SCRIPTS and MACROS to play SWG FOR THEM while they're at work! Think about it! You're paying monthly for a script to play the game! How could that be fun?!?! Bah, I am tired. If I've changed just ONE person's mind then I am satisfied, all those hours I spent at least can help some of you. TEEMING MASSES, HEED ME!!!!

lol, I was just pondering why the SWG fans hadn't popped in to defend their Job (I won't call it a game, it's a fvcking JOB). Redline, I have absolutely no problems with griefers or kill stealers, as a matter of fact, I found the SWG community to be the most frendly I've ever encountered. Everybody was very willing to help out new players and work together. I also had no problem having shitty equiptment - the problem I have with the Job is that there was absolutely NOTHING to do in the game other than try to get better shit. I have no idea how you work for just 2 hours at a time; my usual routine for this game was this:
Time Job
-------- ---
15 minutes Start up Galaxies, then get a cup of coffee and watch some tv, then come back and get to work, maybe smoke a joint first
1 hour Go to a hospital and wait for a doc to heal me up from getting lag-killed during my last shift, fix my shitty speeder, go to the 15-25 shops that I knew sold weapons (my Light Lightning cannon would usually only last about 3 hunting sessions before it expired) only to find that half the shops were either out of stock or the owner dropped his class to grind his way to Jedi, Clone myself and buy insurance. Riding from shop to shop was a complete waste of time, why couldn't they make a Global market so I can see what's at a shop before I go there only to find out I can't buy what I want there?????
30 minutes Go to the lag-ridden starport of whatever shithole planet I was last on and join a group, then constantly hit refresh to get the mission type the group wants

That's an hour and 45 minutes just getting ready to go do a mission. Ohhhh, and the missions btw, are the same fricking repetitive TASK over and over again. Sure, I could go see the points of interest just to get a stupid badge and say I'd been there, but there was no content. Hunting mission were the only thing you could do in the game. I had to put a tv in my comp room just to stay enteretained - so did anyone else I knew who played the game. A buddy of mine would play Prince of persia on his playstation WHILE he grinded away in Galaxies! Great introduction to my first MMORPG. I gave this POS 3 months to impress me and it failed miserably. I think I was being pretty generous, I should have taken it off my comp after a week. Not somebody's cup of tea?!?!?!?! I think you make an understatment - I WOULD RATHER DRAG MY BALLS THROUGH BROKEN GLASS THAN PLAY THIS JOB AND I'LL BE DAMNED IF I'M GOING TO SIT AROUND AND NOT GIVE FAIR WARNING TO OTHERS WHO ARE CONTEMPLATING GIVING SOE ONE RED CENT FOR THIS "GAME"

I stand corrected, didn't know you could get a ship right off. I made an assumption based on my expiriences when they released mounts, then vehicles. So, start your game, have your crappy first ship. Then what? Grind to get a better ship! What fun!

Fuck this, I'm not done. For all of you who reply and say that the devs have done a good job fixing things, that may be true but it doesn't matter one lick. The game itself IS WORK, correctly functioning or not. GRIND GRIND GRIND GRIND GRIND, then MORE grinding until you get to the very end of the GRind, grind a little more, then after the last of the grinding you're done! You have your master character, after 50 kagillion hours of gameplay, congrats! Your character is now ready for the "fun" parts of the game. I'd rather play a game where the journey to Master is fun, not only after getting there. There's nothing after master but to do it all over again. NO content, the worst lag I've seen since Cornered Rat's peice of garbage (making PvP a VERY frustrating task)...and I have CABLE, not dail up. Good luck playing on Saturday or Sunday, you need to become nocturnal or quit your job to avoid the 2fps. Where was I? Oh, just a warning to all those poor souls who may be lulled by the Space Expansion: It will take you at least 150 hours of *fun* just to build up enough cash to buy a ship, is that worth it?? What's 150 hours at minimum wage? Let's see, here in Canada Minimum is 7 bucks an hour so....You're basically paying $1050 CAD to get what you could just go pay 15 bucks at the bargain bin for(X-wing vs Tie fighter, Freespace 2, whatever space sim you want). I actually felt stupid for having wasted as much time on this game as I did (and it was probably WAAAY less than some of the pATHETIc powergamers I saw running around with all their fricking probots and pets). Go Get WoW, I know it's not out yet, but I will absolutely Garentee you that it will be a million times better, especially for people who don't have 10 hours a day to play. Galaxies is GArbage!

I never post, but in this case I'll make an exception if it will save you hours of your life: Uninstall it and go read a good book. This game is a complete time sink - you won't get ANYwhere unless you have no job, no prospects, no woman, no hobbies and no life. You must completely dedicate your life to Galaxies in the hopes that one day the devs will have it up to par with Anything out there. Go pick up WoW when it comes out. I know the trial is free, but think about it: Would you work hard labor for free? There are those out there who will tell you the game is fun (and I pity them). Don't listen, they are just those that have not become enlightened yet, but they will. Eventually you come to realize that you could have spent these many many hours improving your own life instead of wasting it in front of this hack of a game. Holy crap, don't play the free trial, if I can save you just 1 hour of your life, all the time it took me to realize this will not have been wasted in vein!

Hahaha, you Americans don't know what cold is. 25 degrees? Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada: -25 degrees C which is -13 degrees F. Wind-chill makes that equivalent to about -35 C
