The best part is his junk bulging out of the unitard. He should've at least worn a cup or something. I can't believe he actually went out in public like that and didn't get arrested.

My irrational number is φ (phi). Which is awesome, because I'm pretty intrigued with that number anyway. It was probably the rectangle that gave that to me. Us Phis love rectangles.

Wow Halsy, so you just automatically make the assumption, without any prior knowledge to the other persons education level and background, that they are wrong because they don't understand the issues and don't know anything about history? And because of that assumption, you should probably be the one making the decisions since you "understand" the issues better than everyone else here, right? Wow, definitely sounds like a certain other ideology, doesn't it?

You aren't the only one who understands history and politics bud. As others have said, you're so blinded by your own propaganda that you can't see past it. Let me guess, you're in college, right?

Nice Addition Jan 20, 2004, 15:53

Yeah, it's a really good patch. The new units alone are worth it (Shamen/Chaplain healing units), and the other additions are nice as well (new sounds, improved weapons, etc). They've also made some big changes to the fundamental way the game plays. For example:

1) Items now have to be manually selected before you can use them - you can't use them at the same time you have a weapon drawn.
2) Siege Units now tilt and adjust to the terrain, altering the gunner's POV as the terrain changes.
3) The ability to pick up gold and goodies from other people's kills is now turned on by default, meaning all goodies from a kill are up for grabs.
4) Several items work differently - immobilizers and snares only slow down enemies now, and relocators/disruptors work differently.

There are others, but you get the idea. Some of them I can't completely agree with, but I'll get used to them I'm sure. It's a big improvement overall however, so anyone unsure about it should definitely go buy this game now.

I missed the Lay/Lie question as well. I think a LOT of people missed that though. The fact that lay is the past tense of lie certainly doesn't help things...

That's the main problem, it went from a well written, satirical, witty show, to a dumbed down amalgam of pop culture idiocy.

But at least there's still hope in the possible return of Family Guy, and of course Futurama reruns on Adult Swim.

Funny you should say that, because an amalgam of pop-culture idiocy is almost exactly what Family Guy consists of. It's not necessarily a bad thing if done well.

I hate people who make overgeneralizations like "Anyone who thinks <blank> is <blank>." Come on, how about just accepting the fact that some people liked the movies and some didn't? I thought Kill Bill was stupid mindless, and loved all three Matrix movies, and I'm sure many people here would disagree with me on those. Does that make me any less right than they are? Nope, just means we have different tastes.

It's especially stupid to say that people who enjoyed the two sequels were ignorant. Most of the people who enjoyed them were the ones who spent time analyzing them and understanding some of the more subtle points of the movies. And they're more ignorant than Joe-Blow who only watches them for the fight scenes and is disappointed when there's too much dialogue? Give me a break.

Does anyone still care about this game, with as bad as the last two movies have been?

Well considering that I loved the 2nd and 3rd movies, yeah, I care about it. A heck of a lot more than I care about SWG, that's for sure.

Wow, I haven't seen anything about this mod in a long time. Not since Quakecon 2001 at least, when I saw a build of their new release. I used to play it all the time - at least an hour a day. I knew those maps and strategies like the back of my hand. Unfortunately, Urban Terror got ahold of me, and then RtCW, and I never looked back.

It's a good mod though. Nice to see they're sticking with it a little while longer.

Bah, reviewers don't know anything. Ebert rates movies without even really seeing them, so why should I trust him? I'll trust my gut instead of some pompous reviewer. I loved Reloaded, because I actually watched it a few times and absorbed everything in it (something I doubt most people bothered to do). I have a feeling Revolutions will be the same way. Most people will go in expecting the story to slap them in the face, but for the few people who understood all the subtleties of Reloaded, it will be a completely different movie.

Reality TV is bad for you. Hell, it's just plain bad. Watch a documentary or something instead.

I agree for the most part, but the Joe Schmoe Show isn't really a reality tv show. It's actually more like a parody of one. And a well done parody at that. There is the element of Matt himself, which does lend to it a few aspects of "reality tv", but for the most part it's just good old scripted comedy.

Spoiler Text:
The way they revealed it to him was pretty good too. Instead of just coming out and saying it, they kind of messed with his head a little first. Hutch ends up winning, and then the host gets a message on his IFB and is like "Wait, wait, we have to stop - someone here isn't being completely honest." And then after everyone kinda looks around at each other for a moment, Hutch finally says "Okay, I admit it, my name's not really hutch. It's David Hornsby, and I'm really an actor from L.A." And then he accuses Kip of it too, and after Kip argues with him in his gay voice, he finally gives and Matt hears his normal voice for the first time while he admits that he too is an actor. Then all of them slowly admit to it, and Matt is just like, "WTF is going on??" It was a pretty funny way to do it, I must say.

I'm don't really care so much about having to be online while playing Single Player. Since I have cable this is a non-issue really. What I'M concerned about personally is the aspect of LAN parties. Out of all the LAN Parties I've been to, maybe half of them had Internet Connections available, and maybe half of those had Internet Connections we could all share. Not everyone has LAN parties at a location where the Internet is readily available. Many are held in closed stores and stuff where they don't even have internet connections.

So in those cases, are we just not allowed to play the game over a LAN? Seems pretty crappy to me...

Well, it IS just 3D Mark 2001 though. I'm sure it would still perform well on a newer version, but it's score wouldn't be NEARLY that high.

Anyone remember the atrocity "The War in Heaven"? In case you have forgotten, here's a fairly accurate review of the game:

Hopefully this game will fare better.
